Lot 218

1973 Triumph TR6 Transmission: manualMileage:38477The TR6 was introduced in 1968 and was the bestseller of the TR range when production ended in July 1976. The bodywork closely resembled that of the previous model, the Triumph TR5. The design house, Karmann Consultants, squared off the front and back ends to give the TR6 its sharpened look. Fitted with a 2.5 litre, in-line, six-cylinder engine, the TR6 could reach 60mph in just over 8.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 120mph. It featured a four-speed manual transmission with an optional overdrive unit and semi-trailing arm independent rear suspension, 15 wheels and tyres, bucket seats and a full complement of instrumentation.First registered on 14th March 1973, this original right hand drive, UK supplied example is presented in Pimento Red over a black interior and is fitted with Minilite style wheels. Acquired by the current vendor in January 2007, this TR6 was used occasionally before being treated to renovation work in 2012. The work included the removal of the engine and gearbox and fitting a new clutch and ring gear. A Triumph 2,500cc engine was sourced and fitted which benefits from carburettors as opposed to the original fuel injection system. A new and extensively improved wiring harness, new fuses and relays, and a transistorised ignition was also fitted with an accurate wiring diagram which is included in the history file. More recently, this TR has been fitted with an electric fan and Mazda MX5 seats which make for a much more user-friendly experience. The vendor reports that the TR runs and drives very well indeed using it regularly in the summer months. This Triumph comes with a sizeable history file which includes various sundry invoices, bills for maintenance work, old MoT test records and the V5C registration document. This example offers huge amounts of car for the money and can be enjoyed immediately.

1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Transmission: manualMileage:68444The Alfa Romeo Giulia (105) Sprint GT was designed by Bertone's Giorgetto Giugiaro. The car was launched in September 1963 at the newly opened Arese plant and displayed later that month at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The overall styling of the Giulia was kept very simple however, the Giulia had a very distinctive Scalino 'step front' design with the bonnet sitting approximately 1/4 inch above the nose of the car. Alfa Romeo was one of the first manufacturers to put a powerful engine in a lightweight car for mainstream production, making it a forerunner to today's performance saloons. The Giulia was powered by Alfa Romeo's twin cam, all-aluminium, four cylinder 1,570cc engine mated to a five-speed gearbox. This punchy power plant ensured the car's performance was better than many sports cars of the era. Alfa Romeo took 'Touring Car' racing by storm winning the European Touring Car Championship in 1966, 1967 and 1968.This right hand drive, 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT was supplied new in the UK. At some time it was exported to Australia. The current owner purchased the car there and returned it to the UK in June 2016. After using it sparingly for a while it was put into storage where it has remained until recently. We are informed that the car is matching numbers, has a sound floor pan and is running and drivable. This is a restoration project with a lot of potential for being put back on the road or rebuilt for racing and use on the track. Finished in blue with tan and stripped material interior it is supplied with a V5C registration document and a number of spare parts including an original grille, a new bumper still in its protective wrapping and other parts. These wonderful classic Alfa Romeos are highly sought-after and a restoration project such as this is so rare to find, particularly as the car appears to be complete.

1960 Daimler SP250 Dart 'B' Specification Transmission: automaticMileage:44800The controversially styled Daimler SP250 Dart was introduced at the New York Motor Show in 1959 and had its European debut at the 1959 Earls Court Motor Show; the Dart name was soon dropped after the threat of legal action from Chrysler who had a car of that name within their Dodge division. Thereafter, this new sports car was known as the Daimler SP250. Power was provided by the 2.5 litre, Edward Turner designed, V8 that soon became revered for the smoothness in its power delivery with 140bhp on tap. Independent double wishbone front suspension at the front and half elliptical springs at the rear with a live rear axle kept the car on the road with stopping power supplied by hydraulic disc brakes on all four corners. The coachwork was constructed with glass reinforced plastic providing a tough, strong and lightweight shape that enhanced performance with exciting and non-traditional looks. The 120mph plus capability was recognised by the police and they were soon being used as high-speed chase cars. This particular example presents beautifully in ivory over a red interior and has been upgraded to full B specification. The B specification offered a vast improvement over the original cars, much improving the chassis flex of earlier cars by adding extra outriggers and extra chassis strengthening. This car has also been fitted with some fantastic upgrades to improve the driving experience, such as rack and pinion steering which vastly improves steering directness and feel. The gearbox has also been fitted with an overdrive, to improve the experience when cruising at motorway speeds. There is also evidence of an engine rebuild by Russ Carpenter and various invoices dating back to the 1980's and some invoices detailing some restoration work in and around 2010. The car has also been fitted with an aluminium radiator, to aide cooling, and telescopic rear dampers. This is an excellent example which has clearly been cherished by enthusiasts and has been improved tastefully with driving in mind. Our vendor reports the car drives exceedingly well. Interested parties should note that this car is now offered with an MoT test certificate valid until 13th July 2024.

1971 Aston Martin DBS V8 Banham Convertible Transmission: manualMileage:79500With the demise of the DB6 Mk. II Volante in 1970, Aston Martin were not able to offer a convertible motorcar until 1977 with the introduction of the V8 Volante. This presented a niche in the market; there are always wealthy customers with a desire for something unique and unusual. Paul Banham and his company, Banham Conversions (Banmoco) became well known for their cabriolet conversions on Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Daimler and Jaguar cars. The company was perhaps most noted for their stylish conversion on the Jaguar XJ-S. Sadly the company went out of business in 2004.This lovely example is presented in British Racing Green with a beige leather interior and matching beige hood. Its iconic V8 engine is mated to a manual gearbox and it has electric windows and a radio. The car has a nice history going as far back as 1984, which also includes a list of the owners and the years it exchanged hands. The present owner bought this rare DBS V8 Aston Martin in 1989 and it was at that time the car was sent to Banham Motors Ltd to be converted to a soft top when the mileage was 74,978. The car was stored from 1991 to 2022 in an air conditioned unit and was recommissioned by Slark Motors in Bristol in 2023. It had its outer wheel lips power coated and the car was polished to the condition it is shown today which looks fabulous. These are rare cars indeed and with the Banham conversion and manual gearbox, this particular Aston Martin DBS is very sought-after and turns heads wherever it is driven.

1991 Alfa Romeo Spider S4 Transmission: automaticMileage:99018The Spider designation for the open top sports cars originates from the word, speeder, and a two-person open horse carriage. The Alfa Romeo 105/115 Series Spider was produced from 1966 to 1993, remaining in production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes. Widely regarded as a design classic, this fourth series version of production came with further mechanical and cosmetic changes. Mechanical changes saw the introduction of the Bosch Motronic electronic fuel injection with an electric fan and cosmetically, losing its front under bumper spoiler and the rear boot spoiler picking up 164-style rear lights stretching across the width of the car together with colour co-ordinated plastic bumpers. This very good left hand drive, 1991 Series 4, Alfa Romeo Spider was imported from Japan in 2016 and purchased by the current owner a couple of months later. While in his ownership he acquired a factory hardtop, replaced the automatic gearbox with a reconditioned Alfa Romeo manual gearbox, fitted a set of Zandar alloy wheels and in 2018 he had the car repainted. The car has just been serviced and MoT'd. Finished in black with the original beige interior, this Alfa Romeo Spider is supplied with V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in April 2024 and a file containing invoices since being imported in 2016. Also supplied with the car is a number of spare parts including an original, replacement, one piece carpet. This is an ideal car for continental touring which the current owner has done on a number of occasions.

Lot 265

1985 Mercedes-Benz 380SL Transmission: automaticMileage:41464The Mercedes-Benz SL range of models have been in production for over sixty years metamorphosing from the Le Mans winning W194 of 1952 to the technologically advanced, aluminium bodied supercars we find today at Mercedes-Benz World. One thing however, has not changed over the years “ its fundamental character and identity as an upmarket well-built sports car. You could say the fabulous SL AMG model of today with its gullwing doors is the spiritual successor of the 1956 W121 class Gullwing. Backed by its racing pedigree the SL's glamorous reputation was further enhanced by its appearance on TV when it was rare to see an episode of Dallas or Dynasty in the 1980's without the SL making an appearance! These third-generation SL's, the R107, looked 'the part' in all their guises “ the soft top up or down or with the Pagoda hardtop in place. The simple to use, almost genius soft top mechanism when folded down out of sight under a panel gives the car its beautifully sleek, uncluttered appearance. With the hardtop in place you could be forgiven for thinking you were in a fixed head coupé. No less than eight different engine options were available ranging from the straight-six 2.8 litre to a mighty 5.6 litre V8. Although a manual gearbox was available, it is very rare and most examples are fitted with an automatic gearbox which best suits the car's designation as a grand tourer.Originally registered on 6th June 1985 this R107 Mercedes is fitted with the smooth and responsive 3.8 litre V8 Engine. It is a superb example that presents in excellent condition all round. The Pagent Red coachwork is in excellent order as is the cream leather trim. Stylish Mexican hat alloy wheels complement this delightful colour combination. Supplied with the original service books, this has clearly been a very well cared for Mercedes-Benz. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 11th April 2024, together with the original toolkit and a factory hardtop. We are advised this R107 drives as good as it looks, it is rare to see them this good.

Lot 263

2008 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Sport Edition Transmission: automaticMileage:36995With a 0-60mph time of six seconds, the 4973cc, R129 Mercedes-Benz SL500 carried on the tradition of the fast and reliable grand touring convertible. A fully operating electric hood, windows, door mirrors and seats made this model easy and comfortable to operate. The fifth generation SL was in production between 2002 and 2008 and featured the all-new retractable hardtop - an important feature for those British showers! Mercedes-Benz followers were impressed with the stability of the car with the hardtop in place and the ease at which they could remove it. Such was its success; the SL is still one of the leading cars in the Mercedes-Benz range. This car features the very capable 5.0 litre 302bhp V8 powerplant mated to a standard automatic gearbox. Originally registered on 29th September 2008, this Mercedes-Benz presents very well in silver. The mileage is modest, having covered only 36,995 miles in its 15 years on British roads. These 5.0 litre convertibles are fabulous to drive, and this is the rarer Sport Edition. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 6th July 2024.

Lot 229

1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster Transmission: automaticMileage:30762The E-Type Series III was introduced in 1971, with a new 5.3 litre, V12 engine, uprated brakes, and power steering as standard. Optionally, an automatic transmission, wire wheels and air conditioning were available. The brand new V12 engine produced 272bhp, had increased torque, and a 0-60mph time of less than seven seconds, which was phenomenal for the price of the car at that time, considering its competition in the marketplace. The short wheelbase fixedhead coupé body style was discontinued, with the Series III available only as a roadster or 2+2 coupé. The newly used longer wheelbase now offered significantly more room in all directions. These models were easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tyres and a badge on the rear that proudly proclaims it to be a V12. It is thought that only 7,990 convertibles and 7,297 fixedhead cars were produced. This particular example was originally supplied by Mamos Queensbury in Middlesex and has been in the care of our vendor's family since around 2005. The car was such a cherished possession to them that they chose to export it to Australia with them in 2007, then bring it back to the UK again in 2016. The car shows an odometer reading of less than 31,000 miles, which our vendor believes could very likely be the genuine mileage. General wear points such as pedals and seats look to be original and in very good condition. Since the cars arrival back to the UK, it has been regularly serviced by Powerbell Services and has only required general servicing, never requiring any major attention. The vendor reports that the car drives beautifully but just has not been getting the use it deserves in the past few years, so he feels it is time for someone else to enjoy the car. This car comes with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate which confirms the car retains its original engine and factory specification of white coachwork over a black interior with an automatic gearbox. The hood fits tightly, the interior is in excellent condition and the chromework has a good shine. The paintwork, quite possibly original, is showing a few minor cracks in places but the overall appearance is very good and the car wears its 50 years with pride. Offered to auction with a very sensible estimate, this E-Type could be the perfect long-legged summer cruiser.Interested parties should note that the car is supplied with a copy of the latest V5C but a new one has been applied for by the vendor.

Lot 258

1968 Sunbeam Alpine Series V Transmission: manualMileage:72500The Sunbeam Alpine was launched in 1953 as the first vehicle from Sunbeam-Talbot to bear the Sunbeam name alone, since the 1935 takeover of Sunbeam and Talbot by the Rootes Group. Ken Howes and Jeff Crompton were tasked with doing a complete redesign of the Alpine in 1956 with the goal of producing a dedicated sports car aimed principally at the US market. The Series V Alpine was produced from 1965 through to 1968, the final version having a new five-bearing, 1725cc engine with twin Zenith-Stromberg carburettors producing 93bhp.This iconic British sports car is presented in red with a grey hood and a black interior. It is powered by the lively 1725 four cylinder engine mated to a four-speed gearbox. The present owner, who has owned it since 2001, has just returned from a 600-mile round trip holiday in the UK and they confirmed that the car drove without a fault. It comes with, a workshop manual, Rootes parts list and a good history file with many invoices including old MoT test certificates dating back to 1977 (and it has new MoT test certificate which expires in June 2024 with no advisories), which does verify the present mileage of 72,500 as being correct.

Lot 253

2010 Land Rover 110 Transmission: manualMileage:62700The Land Rover Defender was launched in 1948 and, incredibly, production only finished in January 2016 after a continuous run of 67 years. Outwardly, there is little to distinguish the post-1983 vehicles from the Series III Land Rover. A full-length bonnet, revised grille, plus the fitting of wheel arch extensions to cover wider-track axles are the most noticeable changes. Internally, coil springs offered a more comfortable ride and a permanent four-wheel drive system derived from the Range Rover featuring a two-speed transfer gearbox with a lockable centre differential. A modernised interior and a new series of progressively more powerful and modern engine characterised things under the skin. In August 2011, Land Rover announced an update of the Defender for the 2012 model year. By this time, Land Rover publicly acknowledged that it was working on a project to produce an all-new replacement for the Defender. This stunning 2.4 litre TDCi Land Rover Defender 110 with the desirable seven seat configuration is finished in Stornoway Grey with a black trim. First registered on 31st March 2010 and with just three former keepers the last two having been in the vendors family since 2012 passing from sibling to sibling. This example also boasts an uprated Alpine stereo and speaker system and alarm immobiliser. Recently fitted with new brakes discs and pads, new side-steps, full LED light conversion and new like for like Continental tyres. Supplied with the original owner's book pack and service book including a comprehensive service history with numerous original invoices, MoT test certificates and original toolkit. With two original keys, this is a fabulous example of the iconic, practical and robust collectors Defender.

Lot 112

2005 MG ZT Estate Transmission: manualMileage:63444In 2001, three years after the launch of the Rover 75, and less than a year after the demerger of MG Rover from BMW, the MG ZT and MG ZT-T were launched. During the cars' development, the models were codenamed X10 and X11, for the saloon and estate versions, respectively. The basic shape and styling of the MG ZT remained the same as for the Rover 75 but with changes to the front bumper, now with an integrated grille, and detail alterations including colour coding of the chromed waistline, a new boot lid plinth, and different alloy wheels and tyres sizes. During the first few months of 2004, MG Rover facelifted the design of the ZT and ZT-T to a less retro look, at the same time as the Rover 75 received a facelift. This didn't feature much in the way of mechanical differences to the ZT, most changes were merely aesthetic. The main changes to the car included the replacement of the twin headlamps, with a new, clear single headlamp unit. Between 2003 and 2006 the top of the ZT range, and the rarest, was rear wheel drive and powered by the Ford 4601cc V8 engine giving 300bhp, 0-60mph in 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 155mph.This rare MG ZT is best described as a 'wolf in sheep's clothing'. A relatively unassuming vehicle from the outside, with the only visible feature being the large bore exhausts. However, start the engine and suddenly you become aware of the Ford Mustang 4.6 litre V8 under the bonnet. This is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox making this a true drivers car and one to really enjoy on the open road. Performance is put at 260bhp and 407NM of torque. The interior is trimmed in black leatherette and cloth seats with electric windows, electric mirrors and digital climate control with air conditioning. Showing just 63,444 miles on the odometer, the previous owner fitted a bespoke (and very expensive) stainless steel exhaust system with sports cats and central silencer box, coupled to an OE back-box, helping unleash a little more sound of the American dream. We are advised there is a bearing noise from the rear axle. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until October 2023, together with the original book pack and a collection of invoices. This stylish MG estate is both a capable load carrier and a truly exciting car to drive. These were built in relatively small numbers, it is thought less than 200 were manufactured, thus this could well prove to be a fine investment.Guide £6,000-£9,000

Lot 192

1962 Jaguar Mk. X Transmission: automaticMileage:45823The Jaguar Mk. X was the top of the range saloon car built by the British manufacturer primarily aimed at the United States market. The unitary construction bodyshell was codenamed 'Zenith' during development and this floor pan continued in production long after Mk. X production ended, as the DS420 Limousine. The interior was the last Jaguar with abundant standard woodwork, including the dashboard, escutcheons, window trim, a pair of large book-matched fold-out rear picnic tables and a front seat pull-out picnic table stowed beneath the instrument cluster. Later, air conditioning and a sound-proof glass division between the front and rear seats were available as options. The Mk. X was the first Jaguar saloon to feature independent rear suspension and differed from earlier large Jaguar saloons in having 14 wheels instead of the more common 15. The front suspension used double wishbones with coil springs and telescopic dampers. The car initially featured a 3,781cc version of Jaguar's XK in-line, six-cylinder engine. For the London Motor Show in October 1964, the enlarged 4,235cc unit took over although the 3.8 litre unit could still be specified until October 1965. Many domestic market cars and almost all cars destined for the important North American markets left the factory with a Borg Warner automatic gearbox. Stopping power for this heavy car came from servo assisted disc brakes on all four wheels; power assisted steering was standard. The current owner purchased this fabulous Jaguar on 2nd November 2003 with a recorded mileage of 43,194 miles; the car at the time was not on the road and needed a bit of attention to get through an MoT. Once MoT'd he used the car for just over a year and then decided to either to sell it or restore it. The latter decision was made and the stripping of the Jaguar commenced which he has captured on the two CD discs that are in the history file for the new owner to have as a record. Once the car was stripped, it was sent to the bodyshop to be prepared and painted, while this process was being achieved the woodwork was sent to be restored and all the seats, door cards, rear parcel shelf and front under shelf were sent to be retrimmed. To complete this work, six hides of red leather were used to completely retrim the car which, as can be seen, has turned out to be absolutely stunning. Once the car was returned from painting, the rebuild began with the headlining being completed first and then the refurbished woodwork being pieced back together, firstly around the headlining and then down the pillars, the dashboard was next which took quite a while with regards to the refitting of the clocks and gauges and after this, the rear picnic tables were fitted, therefore, completing this stage. Brand new carpets were fitted which were supplied by BAS of Newport again this was quite fiddly especially around the sills and the centre console but was eventually achieved. All chromework was then refitted to the car which included door handles, bumpers, front and rear lights, roof chrome, new rear boot chrome, new front grille and then bonnet chrome. Once completed the seats were fitted and then all door cards, centre console with a brand-new period radio which has Bluetooth etc, rear parcel shelf and any other areas were finished off with the leather trim. Finally, the boot was retrimmed to match the red interior of the car which gives a much nicer look than the usual Jaguar biscuit colour. After completion of the rebuild, the carburettors were completely restored and a brand-new stainless-steel exhaust system was fitted and the radiator then received a re-core, all new water hoses, water pump, thermostat and a brand-new set of ignition leads and plugs followed by an electronic ignition set to finish off. The present vendor has had the pleasure of owning the vehicle for nearly 20 years of which 14 were restoring this magnificent vehicle and as you can see the car now has a recorded mileage of 45,823 miles, this means the car has only covered 2,629 miles in his ownership. This is a simply stunning example of this British classic and surely must be one of the finest available.

Lot 191

1965 Jaguar E-Type Series I Roadster (4.2 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:21265Famously launched at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show, the Jaguar E-Type created a furore. Its combination of supercar performance, superb styling and a low-price tag left rivals reeling and customers clamouring. Built as a monocoque with a front sub-frame to cradle the engine, the model's combination of all-round independent suspension (torsion-bar front/coil-sprung rear) rack and pinion steering and four-wheel disc brakes gave it excellent road holding and handling capabilities. Fed by triple SU HD8 carburettors and topped with a 'straight port' DOHC cylinder head, its indomitable 3781cc straight-six engine was quoted as developing some 265bhp and 260lbft of torque. Allied to a four-speed Moss gearbox, it reputedly enabled the low-slung two-seater to sprint from 0-60mph in 6.9 seconds and onto 150mph. While any E-Type roadster is desirable, the lithesome free-revving 3.8 litre cars enjoy a particularly exalted status; however, the later Series I, 4.2 litre was a better engine. Coming from a large private collection and long-term ownership, the Jaguar E-Type on offer here is a genuine UK supplied, matching numbers, manual gearbox car. Unusual in the vendor's collection, he has held onto this car for the past twenty years and is now only selling to free up money and space for a new project. Maintained by both his own two full time mechanics and Malcolm Collinson Restorations in Farnham, Surrey, the car has wanted for nothing and always been dry stored in his purpose built, carpeted 60 car garage. Described as the only one of his cars his wife actually enjoys going out in, the 4.2 litre Series I car is known in E-Type circles as being the best balance in terms of drivability, comfort and looks. The vendor reports the car to run and drive very well and is torn at the idea of moving it on to a new custodian, but has decided to let it go and be enjoyed by someone else.   Supplied with a V5C registration document, maintenance and service handbook, many MoT test certificates and invoices for work carried out by Malcolm Collinson. The best E-Type, in the best specification and from a long term, loving home. What more could a passionate new E-Type owner ask for?

Lot 128

1963 Alvis TD21 Series II Saloon by Park Ward Transmission: manualMileage:89078The highly refined and supremely elegant Alvis TD21 was launched in late 1958 and owes its stylistic origins to a special-order Hermann Graber coupé variant of the TC21/100 with coach-built by Park Ward. 785 versions of the Series I were manufactured with just 285 Series IIs with the latter variant upgraded with four-wheel Dunlop disc brakes as well as door frames and bodywork now constructed of aluminium for lightness. The previously stand-alone fog lamps were now built into the front of the car, recessed in the new circular air intakes, one for the heater, the other for the carburettors, A five speed manual ZF gearbox was also now installed although the Borg-Warner automatic unit remained available as an option. The extensive aluminium coachwork has been taken back to bare metal in the past with relatively recent blue paintwork still looking fresh on this five-speed manual example. There are some minor remedial repairs required across the bodywork including surface chrome-work. The wire wheels are in good order as indeed are the Vredestein tyres. The interior grey leather trim has been replaced with high quality hide in the front seats with the rear seats remaining original. The armrests and leather door-cappings are also original and, according to the extensive history file, this benefits from a new MoT test certificate valid until July 2024 and with no issues to note. With an insurance valuation by the Alvis Owners Club of £25,000 in 2013, this is offered without reserve and should attract significant interest. Interested parties should note that the brakes on this vehicle have failed. However, it will still be sold at auction with permission to repair the system at the vendors expense and deliver it free of charge (within 100 miles) to the new owner.

Lot 125

1964 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL Transmission: manualMileage:74600The 1964 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL, also known as the 'Pagoda', is a classic luxury sports car that epitomises elegance and performance. With its sleek and timeless design, it captivates car enthusiasts even today. Powered by a 2.3 litre inline-six engine, it delivers a smooth driving experience and impressive acceleration. The 230 SL features a unique, detachable hardtop resembling a pagoda roof, which adds to its iconic appeal. Its luxurious interior boasts comfortable leather seats, modern amenities for its time, and excellent craftsmanship. The 1964 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL represents a perfect blend of style, power, and sophistication, making it a coveted collector's item. This stunning example was supplied by franchised dealer Carols of Wolverhampton on 1st July 1964. The car changed hands in 1973 and was used until 1978 when it was placed in long term storage. It re-emerged in 2017 and has since undergone a comprehensive list of work. These works have been undertaken by two retired Carols of Wolverhampton mechanics who between them have an impressive 100 years of Mercedes experience. The list of items attended to include an overhaul of the brake calipers, servo, master cylinder, clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. All brake hoses were replaced, as was the propshaft centre bearing mounting. The gearbox was overhauled and benefits from new bearings and fresh transmission oil. The original Bosch electric fuel pump was refurbished as was the entire fuel system including the fitting of new fuel pipes. The radiator has received an uprated core and all new hoses. A new head gasket was fitted and all engine gaskets have been replaced. The list of work continues and includes reconditioning the starter motor and injector pump. The engine bolts and engine mountings, distributor cap, all plug leads and plug caps have all been replaced. Evidence of further works is available in the history file for this car and includes sympathetic refurbishment of the interior, a respray and the fitting of a new mohair hood. Although, often said this car really is ready to be enjoyed by a new custodian.

Lot 178

1987 Porsche 911 Super Sports Transmission: manualMileage:107060Introduced in 1984, the Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 was the last incarnation of the 'pure' 911 and was a replacement for the SC model, made between 1978 and 1983. The engine capacity was increased to 3.2 litres, Bosch fuel injection was fitted, and power was up to 231bhp, at least for the European market. With a lack of driver aids such as ABS and power steering, the Carrera 3.2 is said to offer one of the purest 911 driving experiences. Rarest of them all is the 'Turbo look' widebody, known as the 'Super Sport' in the UK. The lucky few buyers would have had to place their order through the 'Sonderwusch' (special wishes) programme and stump up in excess of £10,000 over the base price.Presented in Guards Red with a black leather trim and boasting the Super Sport code '491', this widebody, turbo wing example had been owned by its vendor since 2005. The original service booklet shows a comprehensive service history with main dealer and specialists until 2002 and 81,132 miles, since this date it has been cared for both by vendor and a local mechanic who was a Porsche enthusiast. Countless MoT test certificates show that since 2002 the mileage has year on year been reducing with the last few years trips restricted to 150-200 miles only, the car has however always remained garaged in this time. A car that boasts just six former keepers, one being husband and wife, this example will also receive a new MoT test certificate prior to the sale and represents one of the most desirable 80's Porsche's money can buy. The History file includes the full book pack, V5C registration document, MoT test certificates and valuations from JZM Porsche coupled to a number of invoices and technical specifications. This example with the G50 gearbox and 3.2 litre flat-six engine has to be seen to be appreciated and will be very popular given the upswell in 80's 911 values.

1997 Chevrolet Corvette C5 Targa Transmission: automaticMileage:66500The C5 Corvette - only the fifth incarnation of America's most popular sports car since its introduction in 1953 - was launched to rave reviews in 1997 and featured an all-new body that was both modern and much stronger than before. With a rear-mounted transaxle for the first time, the Corvette had near perfect 50:50 weight distribution and more interior space as well. The new alloy block LS1 V8, an engine Australian's have grown to love over the years, used state-of-the-art technology with a cast-alloy head and developed a massive 345bhp at 5600rpm along with 350lb/ft of torque. There was a choice of two transmissions, including GM's own electronically controlled four-speed manual or the Borg-Warner six-speed manual with a Getrag limited-slip diff. An Electronic Throttle Control system enabled a limitless range of throttle progression. The shapely and more aero coupé body featured a removable hardtop while the new twin-pod instrument panel recalled the Stingrays of the Sixties in design. Despite being larger than the previous C4 Vette, Chevrolet's engineers actually managed to shed weight through the clever use of lightweight materials and more compact LS1 engine, performance improved markedly as a result. The quarter-mile was dispatched in 13.28 seconds and 0-100km/h took just five seconds, making this one of the fastest cars on the road in 1997. The C5 Corvette was, arguably for the first time ever, a world class sports car genuinely capable of matching the best European cars on every level. Factory-backed C5-R racers took on the Porsches in major endurance races from 1999, scoring some significant wins. Today, the C5 offers unrivalled value for money in terms of looks, performance and reliability. This superb example is presented in silver with a black leather interior. It comes with electric windows, electric seats, suede headlining, cruise control and a factory fitted Bose entertainment system with CD player. The present owner imported this Corvette in March 2022 and then set about converting the headlights to comply with UK regulation, powder coated the wheels and fitted an aftermarket Bassani exhaust system and a KNN induction air filter. Its four-speed automatic gearbox is mated to a LS1 5.7 litre Chevrolet V8 providing excellent performance. The car comes with various handbooks and Corvette wallet, Carfax information sheet which verifies its mileage, two sets of keys and a new MoT test certificate. This is a great American muscle car presented in good condition at a reasonable price.

1972 Ford Transit Mk. I Transmission: manualMileage:99Ford's ubiquitous Transit range needs little introduction. Launched in 1965, it has been Europe's best-selling light commercial vehicle for the last 40 years, and is now into its fourth-generation and Mk.7 incarnation. More intriguingly, in the 1970s, no less than 95 per cent of robberies employing a vehicle apparently involved a Transit of some description! Famed for bringing car-like handling, drive-ability and comfort to the van world, it was the ideal base for all manner of conversions, including motor caravans. Power in the early models was supplied by 1.7 or 2.0-litre V4 versions of Ford's Essex powerplant. The suspension was deliberately basic, with live axles front and rear. A wide track provided exceptional stability.Built in 1972, but not registered until 1st February 1973, this Mk. I 'single wheel' Ford Transit presents beautifully having just gone through a full restoration. The body was stripped back to bare metal at which point all necessary repairs were undertaken. This included repairs to the floors, chassis legs, bulk head, doors, windows and windscreen surrounds. The van was then treated to a full respray in Ford Light Blue. Fitted with a later Ford Transit engine along with a five-speed gearbox, the van also benefits from modern vehicle reliability. It has also been subtly upgraded with a hidden removable tow hitch, (which hides behind the rear number plate) and the rear interior has been professionally 'wooded out' by a skilled carpenter to a high standard. The van is reported to 'start on the button' and to run and drive very well. Forming part of a large private collection throughout its restoration, the van was originally intended to be a race support vehicle for the vendors historic racing endeavours and is now only now for sale to free up some space for a new incoming project. These early Mk. I Transits are hard to come by, let alone in such wonderful condition and sympathetically upgraded to be practical and pleasant to drive in modern conditions and as such, is an opportunity not to be missed.

2003 Mercedes-Benz SLK 320 Transmission: automaticMileage:60035At start of the 1990s, after the introduction of their two-seat, grand-tourer R129 SL and the Mazda MX-5, Mercedes-Benz set out to create a new compact roadster, slotted below the SL. By late 1991, under Bruno Sacco, the first design sketches were drawn up and scale models were built in the first half of 1992. Massively successful in its first year, worldwide sales hit 55,000, over double the entire nine-year production of 190 SLs and between 1996 and 2004, over 311,000 SLKs were sold. The roof design consists of a folding steel hardtop with both halves linked by a mechanism which is locked securely when the roof is closed. At the touch of a button on the centre console, a hydraulic system controls the fully automatic folding process in which the boot lid is also integrated. This very good, 2003 Mercedes-Benz SLK 320 was first used at a Mercedes main dealer, Hughes of Beaconsfield as a demonstration car being purchased by the current lady owner directly from them in December 2004. Powered by a 3.2 litre V6 engine, the SLK 320 delivers impressive performance, producing 215bhp. This engine, paired with a smooth and responsive automatic gearbox, enabled the SLK 320 to accelerate quickly and deliver a dynamic driving experience. This car has only covered 60,000 miles from new and has been regularly serviced, mostly by Mercedes main dealers with the last major service carried out in April of this year at a cost of £1,200. Finished in brilliant silver metallic with Anthracite leather interior, this SLK 320 is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in November 2023 and a file containing all the maintenance invoices and the original bill of sale. These small Mercedes represents excellent value for money and are ideal for the summer months with the roof down.

1953 Fiat Topolino Transmission: manualMileage:If they dished out Oscars for cuteness, the adorable Topolino would surely be head of the queue. A masterpiece of minimalist engineering, it was the brainchild of Fiat boss Senator Giovanni Agnelli who, in 1934, envisaged a small mass produced 'people's car' capable of carrying two people in comfort with 50kg (110lbs) of luggage. The task was entrusted to 29 year old Dante Giacosa, an ace engineer who had cut his teeth in Fiat's aeronautical department and was now a fast rising star of the car division (by 1946 he was director of engineering for the whole company). Launched in 1936, the resulting Fiat 500 (quickly dubbed the 'Topolino' or 'Little Mouse') was an instant classic, bristling with space saving ingenuity and engineering subtlety. The coachwork was largely the work of chief stylist, Rudolfo Schaffer, and not only looked gorgeous but also endowed the car with great strength when bolted to Giacosa's chassis. It was powered by a 569cc four-cylinder, side valve, water-cooled engine mounted ahead of the front axle, with the radiator located behind the engine where it doubled as the interior heater. Although it developed a modest 13bhp, it could still reach 55mph and cover 50 miles on a single gallon of petrol. Transmission was via a four-speed gearbox, with independent front suspension, 12 volt electrics and Lockheed hydraulic brakes. Best of all was the roll-top canvas roof which turned it into almost a full convertible. This hugely desirable left hand drive example is presented in a wonderful colour combination and has been in the current vendors collection since 2012. During its current tenure, this Fiat has been used occasionally in the summer months and has always been dry stored during this time. In 2019 this Topolino was the subject of an extensive mechanical overhaul, including a full engine, gearbox and clutch rebuild, and new electrics, at a cost of circa £15,000. As such the vendor reports that this Fiat runs and drives very well indeed. It benefits from the delightful roll-top sunroof which is essential in the summer. A great little crowd pleaser which is practical and fun in town or in the country. Offered without reserve, this charming Topolino is sure to be keenly contested at auction. Guide price £8,000 - £14,000

The Azure intended to both convey a sense of presence and allow for comfortable seating of four adult passengers. Power came from the company's stalwart 6.75 litre, V8 featuring a single intercooled turbocharger. The gearbox was a General Motors sourced four-speed automatic unit with the Azure capable of 0-60mph in an impressive 6.1 seconds. Owing to the limited space at Bentley's Crewe factory, the Azure was designed and manufactured by Pininfarina, significantly adding to the vehicle's production cost. This unique and desirable Azure Symbolic Edition is finished in a special-order Mendip Blue (an Aston Martin colour) in deviation from the black that the other six cars were finished in with magnolia leather hide interior. A milliner commissioned example; this car had a number of non-standard features spanning two pages on the supplied specification details report. Sitting on 18” chrome wheels this example also boasts the T-style console, Burr walnut veneers, the removal of side repeater flashers, flared arches, Bentley wings in the door waist rails and an uprated 420bhp engine boasting 875nm of torque to mention but a few of the non-standard features from new. The car was originally supplied to Bentley San Diego on 1st May 1998 and imported to the UK in 2018 from Florida with 13,000 miles on the clock, where the seller claimed it had just had a $10,000 overhaul including the replacement of the hood hydraulic lines. Since its arrival in the UK, the car has been cared for by Bowling-Ryan Ltd, Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialists in Bolton with the most and recent service in August 2022 coupled to previous services in 2018 and 2020. Supplied with handbooks, an MoT test certificate with no advisories and valid until April 2024, this is not only one of the best cars to cruise the French Riviera but it is uniquely specified and rare which increases its potential for strong collectable values in the future.

2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante Transmission: paddleMileage:49124Featuring a bonded aluminium structure for strength and lightness, the V8 Vantage introduced Aston's new automated/manual gearbox option, the Sportshift. This added electro-hydraulic control to the existing six-speed manual gearbox to offer improved shift times and replaced the conventional manual gear lever with push button controls and paddles on the steering wheel. The Vantage was an immediate success with some dealer estimated a three-year waiting list by the time the car was first shown. It would later go on to receive Jeremy Clarkson's 2005 Best Sounding Car of the Year and now considered one of the best-looking cars of all time and become an undisputed modern classic with values rising over the last 12 months.Supplied with just two previous owners and a full Aston Martin main agent and subsequent specialist service history, this desirable example is supplied with Onyx Black coachwork with a matching Obsidian Black leather interior, contrasting white stitching and a black mohair hood. The condition, when viewed, was excellent throughout and powered by the hugely flexible V8, 4.3 litre engine mated to a 'Sportshift' gearbox. It starts beautifully and, as you would expect, sounded just as good. Another item to note is that it comes equipped with a factory-fitted, fob-operated, exhaust gate button that opens the taps to free extra decibels when required. Just the thing as you approach a long stretch of mountain tunnel! In 2016, the car had a replacement clutch fitted and has covered just 6,000 entirely trouble-free miles since.Service record2006 PDI Brentwood Aston Martin 2008 9439m Stratstone Western Avenue2009 13,187m Stratstone Western Avenue2010 17,861m Harwoods Aston Martin2011 22,277m Harwoods Aston Martin2012 26,613m Harwoods Aston Martin2013 30,972m Harwoods Aston Martin2014 34,577m Harwoods Aston Martin2015 37,243m Harwoods Aston Martin2016 42,090m McGurk Performance Cars2017 45,996m McGurk Performance Cars2019 47,938m Hofmann's of Henley2023 49,124m Oselli Engineering Ltd

1998 Porsche 911/996 Carrera 2 Transmission: manualMileage:35813The Porsche 996 is the internal designation for the Porsche 911 model manufactured and sold between 1998 and 2005. On its debut, the 996 featured the most significant changes to the Carrera model since its 1963 introduction, namely the water-cooled engine replacing the previously air-cooled unit. Progressively stringent noise regulations, environmental concerns, a higher expectation for refinement and a high-performance, four-valve per cylinder engine made the switch necessary. Other changes included a sleeker body with a more steeply raked windshield and a re-designed interior.First registered in February 1998, this 3.4 litre Carrera C2 has covered a mere 35,813 miles from new and comes with a full service history, its last major service was only 613 miles ago at 35,200 miles when it had a new radiators, an air-conditioning radiator, new front discs and pads plus a clutch replacement. Supplied new in Guards Red with grey leather interior and with factory fitted options including an Aerokit body and six-speed gearbox. Stored in heated, de-humidified storage for the past few years, the car has just been recommissioned and has just had a new battery installed along with an oil and filter service and a new MoT test certificate valid until May 2024. Indeed, the vendor reports the car to run and drive very well with its 296bhp, 3.4 litre, flat six engine howling as any Porsche flat six engine should.Supplied with a V5C registration document, original handbooks and two sets of keys. Finding one of these first year of production water cooled Carrera's with such low mileage is nigh on impossible and this car represents an opportunity not to be missed.Interested parties should note that contrary to the catalogue description, the Aerokit may not have been factory fitted. There is no code referring to it as an option on the bonnet sticker. However, the stamp on the bottom of the boot lid suggests it was dealer fitted.

2008 Ferrari F430 Spider F1 Transmission: automaticMileage:14780The Ferrari F430 was produced from 2004 to 2009 and was the successor to the 360. It debuted at the 2004 Paris Motor Show and was designed by Pininfarina under the guidance of Frank Stephenson, with the body styling of the F430 revised from its predecessor. Although the drag coefficient remained the same, downforce was greatly enhanced. Despite sharing the same basic Alcoa aluminium chassis, roof line, doors and glass, the car looked significantly different from the 360. A great deal of Ferrari heritage was included in the exterior design. At the rear, the Enzo's tail lights, and interior vents were added. The car's name was etched into the Testarossa-styled driver's side mirror and the large oval openings in the front bumper are reminiscent of Ferrari racing models from the 60s, specifically the 156 'Sharknose' Formula One car and 250 TR61 Le Mans cars of Phil Hill. This wonderful UK supplied example was registered new on 1st March 2008 and has covered a mere 14,780 miles from new. Fitted with the paddle shift F1 automatic gearbox, this Ferrari is presented in Rosso Corsa paintwork over a contrasting creme leather interior. This Ferrari is in excellent condition throughout, the paintwork is excellent as is the interior which shows very little sign of age. Having had just one former keeper from new this Ferrari has been maintained and serviced where necessary and has been dry stored at a performance car storage facility during the current vendors tenure.Accompanying the Ferrari is a history file which includes all relevant documents and booklets as well as the original toolkit and tyre pump. This excellent example is offered directly from a significant private collection. It looks superb and sounds fantastic when on song and is ready to be enjoyed immediately.

2002 Aston Martin Vanquish Transmission: automaticMileage:42512Launched at the Geneva motor show in 2001 the Aston Martin Vanquish was hailed as "The ultimate Grand Tourer" powered by a DOHC four-valve per cylinder V12 engine producing 460bhp. It could propel the car from 0“60 mph in under five seconds and reach a top speed exceeding 190mph. It was instantly immortalised further by featuring in the 2002 James Bond movie Die Another Day.This Vanquish presents beautifully and has been in the care of our vendor since 2009. The car comes with a raft of invoices and evidence of nine services by a mixture of Aston Martin main agents and specialists. There is a large invoice from 2012 by Aston Martin specialist Desmond J.Smail amounting to £4,469.55 for a service, replacement of various hoses on the cooling system and removing the gearbox for inspection and some minor adjustments to improve the gearchange,  as the gate was found to be too tight between first and second gear, as well as a few other smaller jobs. More recently, in 2015, the car went to Aston Martin Works to have two tyre pressure monitoring valves and sensors replaced. The cars service history is as follows:12/05/2003 @ 8,295 miles “ Paramount Aston Martin Derby04/02/2004 @ 15,628 miles “ Aston Martin Sales of Mayfair07/07/2004 @ 21,423 miles “ Stratstone Aston Martin London29/04/2005 @ 24,953 miles “ Reg Vardy PLC Aston Martin Tyne and Wear06/04/2009 @ 33,678 miles “ Stratstone Aston Martin Derby29/03/2010 @ 36,204 miles “ Lancaster Aston Martin Cambridge12/01/2012 @ 38,576 miles “ Desmond J.Smail Ltd08/01/2015 @ 40,343 miles “ Aston Martin Works Newport Pagnell02/02/2021 @ 42,143 miles “ Desmond J.SmailThe Aston Martin Vanquish is a design which has aged exceedingly well, now representing extraordinary value for money compared to some of its peers and  now could be the time to buy one of Aston Martin's ultimate V12 GT cars.

1991 Rover Mini JCW Recreation Transmission: manualMileage:8883The Mini had an impressive 41-year build run from 1959 until 2000. This car really deserves the title of motoring icon. Space saving front wheel drive design of the Mini influenced a generation of car makers. This was borne out in 1999 when the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th century. The Mini Mk. I had three major UK updates; the Mk. II, the Clubman and the Mk. III. The Mini Cooper and Cooper 'S' were sportier versions that were successful as rally cars, winning the Monte Carlo Rally four times from 1964 through to 1967. Initially Minis were marketed under the Austin and Morris names, as the Austin Seven and Morris Mini Minor, until Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969.This immaculate 1992 example has benefitted from a complete photographic restoration. During the process it was decided to give the car the look of a Cooper S from an earlier era. The no expense spared work was completed over a four-year period has been done well and the paintwork is in good order with a red body and contrasting black roof. Fitted with three front driving lamps and one rear, leather bonnet straps and privacy glass, this Mini certainly looks the part and, we are informed, drives superbly. Not surprising as this Mini is also fitted with Paul Ivey racing steel valves, a Bret Sims fast road cam, a balanced crankshaft and duplex double timing chain, double silicone HT leads, an LCB three branch straight through exhaust, a quick shift gearbox and GMAX shock absorbers and suspension kit. The file for this car contains a V5C registration document, a full list of the works completed and various bills and receipts. The sale of this Mini includes the cherished registration plate. Fun to drive and reasonably priced.

Serious production started in 1912. By the mid-1920s New Imperial Motors Ltd was doing well, and making about 300 machines a month, but they suffered during the depression of the 1930s, and in 1938 their founder Norman Downes died. They went into liquidation in 1939. Despite attempts by various parties to buy the company, production ceased in 1939 as the war started. In their heyday, New Imperial had been an innovative company. In 1932 they started using unit construction, where the engine crankcase and gearbox are incorporated in the same casting, long before it became common practice. The Model 2 was termed “the popular mount” for its all-round characteristics. It had a three-speed hand change gearbox, a top speed of approx 55 miles per hour, and fuel consumption was given as 120 miles per gallon. This private Cornish collection of motorbikes has been entered for sale by the family of the late collector. They have been dry stored in a container, and prior to this in a large garage/workshop.They were all running at some point during his ownership, although most have not been run in recent years, and none recently. 1934 Morgan three wheeler Super Sports, registration number ACE 473, with V5c. Purchased by the vendor's late father who undertook a comprehensive restoration, and as an ex RAF fast jet engineer much attention to detail has been taken. He became good friends of Peter Morgan who was kind enough to supply plans for the ash frame. In the 1960's it was a racer known as Conquest and fitted with a Ford 10 engine at the time, in the late owner's custodianship it first had a JAP DTZ engine fitted until he had fully rebuilt the MX2 engine now installed, the vendor reports it also had a new worm and pinion. When at a show the vendor's late father was a approached by the previous owner who had had it as Conquest in the 1960's, who told him the gearbox had been converted to synchromesh at British Leyland, and that he even took the car on his honeymoon. The car has hydraulic brakes and both foot and hand throttles. The vendor believes there may be some more paperwork amongst his father's effects but has not come across anything as yet - anything found will of course be forwarded to the new owner.10%+VAT buyer's premium on this lot

1960 BSA A10, Golden Flash, 650cc. Registration number 579 YUW (non transferrable). Frame number painted over. Engine number DA10 9768.Sold with the V5C.Launched in 1949, the BSA A10 was a development of the A7 500cc and was needed to compete with the Triumph Speed Twin, it was designed by Bert Hopwood (who had previously worked at Triumph and Norton). Initially it was available with a rigid frame but the rear plunger was a more popular choice, especially amongst the sidecar buyers. It had hinged rear mudguard and a semi unit gearbox mated to the parallel twin engine until 1954 when a swinging arm rear was introduced along with separate gearbox and engine. Initially offered in black and chrome to the UK market a new gold colour was introduced and became very popular and led to the name Golden Flash, some 80% of all units were made for export which meant that there were long waiting lists for UK buyers.YUW is an older restoration that has been stored in a dry stor room for several years.Sold with the V5C.

Lot 462

1986 Yamaha RZV500R, 498cc. Registration number D365 UGF. Frame number 51X002479. Engine number not found. Sold with the V5C, V5, old MOT, receipts for works undertaken. The YVPS Yamaha RD500LC is a high-performance, two-stroke sports motorcycle, produced between 1984 and 1986, using a liquid cooled V4 engine with power valves to give a wider power band with four Mikuni carburettors. The transmission is by a six-speed close ratio gearbox with a wet clutch. The frame is made from box section steel and there are twin discs on the front with single on the rear. Different countries had different spec, the Japanese version being the most altered. The RZV features upgraded parts not found on the standard RD500LC the most important difference being the hand-welded lightweight aluminium frame. It was also used for the handlebars, gear lever, and brake lever, it weighed some 20lb less than the stock RD500LC, although the engine was detuned was the Home market. UGF was imported into the UK in 1989 and was owned by John Brumby of Doncaster in 1991. By 1994 the engine when at 25,213 miles was given a major rebuild with +5mm pistons at a cost of £632, at the same time it received a respray, at a cost of £450. In 1996 our vendor bought it from EVA Bros of Scunthorpe for £1,125! MOT's from 1996 at 25,941km, 1997 at 28,553km and 14,956miles show that the speedo was changed to MPH. He then parked it up with a mileage of 19629 in 2000. Unused since this date the machine will require recommissioning. Sold with the V5C, V5, old MOT, receipts for works undertaken.

Lot 461

Lee Bros/Jamie Whitham 1985 Kawasaki KR250 Tandem Twin, 249cc. Registration number G654 DCX. Frame number 010507. Engine number 008534.Sold with the V5C, DVLA printed ownership history, Lee Bros copy of certificate of newness, MOT's, email from Whitham confirming he rode a Lee Bros KR250 in the 1985 Manx GPThe Tandem Twin is a rare machine, they were only sold in Japan, Australia and South Africa and competed against the Suzuki RG. As well as being one of the rarest 250 two-strokes, the KR is also one of the most technically interesting. Its motor is a dual-crank tandem-twin, with Kawasaki's Rotary Reed Valve Induction System (RRIS), as used on the AR125. This gives it a much broader spread of power than the reed valve only RG - the KVSS power valve equipped KR250S introduced in '86 is claimed to be even more tractable. The chassis is striking too. There's an adjustable underslung shock, a braced swing arm, adjustable anti-dive forks, triple discs, a hand-welded aluminium frame and styling that gives more than a nod to the GPZ900R. Although complicated it helps the bike to remain very narrow, as exhaust routing and expansion chambers no longer have to run underneath the engine as they do on most parallel-twin engines. In this case, they both exit on the right side of the bike: one down low, the other partly through the tailpiece in flamboyant 1980s style. The round tail lamp is set into the kicked-up tail and the bolt-on hand-fairings are an unusual touch. The 45 hp engine was good for over 110 mph and had a six speed gearbox. This machine, imported by Lee Bros of Sowerby Bridge is believed to have been ridden by Jamie Whitham in the 1985 Manx GP.In 1989 it was road registered and they sold it to David Graham of Sheffield, then Jackwood Motorcycles sold it to Nathan Corridge? of Sheffield, Andrew Ross of Doncaster in 1995 and then Deborah Poles of Wetherby in 1996. Peter Jackson of Knaresborough was the next owner in 1998 and our vendor bought it from him the same year. It was MOT'd in 1998 at 8967 km and in 1999 at 9,203km. In storage since then it now shows 9,700km.This rare machine, with probable Jamie Whitham Manx GP history is now ready for a new owner.Sold with the V5C, DVLA printed ownership history, Lee Bros copy of certificate of newness, MOT's, email from Whitham confirming he rode a Lee Bros KR250 in the 1985 Manx GP

Lot 447

1965 BSA Bantam D7 Super, 175cc. Registration number BJC 224C. Frame number D7 45777. Engine number FD7 9853 (see text). Sold with the V5C, please note the V5C states the engine number to be FD7 4973. The Bantam was based on the German DKW RT 125, a design that was received as war reparations, with the Bantam as a mirror image so the gear change was on the right side as with other British motorcycles of the period. Over the years the model evolved through the D1 of 1948 to the D3, D5, the D7 in 1959. The D7 Super engine remained largely unchanged and had the same three-speed gearbox, the new model had an entirely new swinging arm frame, uprated brakes and hydraulically damped forks, a nacelle-mounted headlamp, slimmed down mudguards and a sporty petrol tank; it was available in up-to-the-minute colours like Fuchsia Red and Sapphire Blue. BJC was bought from these salerooms in January as a project and has now been fully stripped, repainted and rebuilt to a high level. It has appeared at local shows and our vendor is now looking for an older project to replace it. Sold with the V5C, please note the V5C states the engine number to be FD7 4973.

Lot 303

1975 Ford Escort Mk1, 2 door, 1298cc, project. Registration number HPE 46N. Chassis number BBATPG28001. Engine number TBC. Sold with the V5C. The MkI Ford Escort was introduced in Ireland and the United Kingdom at the end of 1967, making its show debut at the Brussels Motor Show in January 1968. The Escort had conventional rear-wheel drive and a four-speed manual gearbox, or three-speed automatic transmission. The suspension consisted of MacPherson strut front suspension and a simple live axle mounted on leaf springs. The Escort was the first small Ford to use rack-and-pinion steering. The MkI featured contemporary styling cues in tune with its time: a subtle Detroit-inspired "Coke bottle" waistline and the "dogbone" shaped front grille – arguably the car's main stylistic feature. HPE, has been off the road since 1993 and dry barn stored. It will make a good base for a rally replica or restoration to original spec. There are no keys with the car. Sold with the V5C.

Lot 251

A David Brown VAK 1 petrol/T.V.O. engined farm tractor with the Bullet-hole type grille and magneto ignition. This type of tractor was considered quite a luxury in its era having a four speed gearbox, hand-lever operated independent brakes, a P. T. O. shaft and hydraulics. The cylinder block has an historic frost crack, which appears to have been filled and whilst she has not been run for a fair number of years, it is understood that the damage did not preclude its operation. The engine is not seized and there will undoubtedly be great excitement in bringing her back to life. It is believed that this tractor has remained local to the Grosmont area for its entire life, the original owner having been a member of the Eynon family. The vendor is understood to be only her third owner. Having the customary double seat and being capable of a good turn of speed, these tractors are ideal for road runs with a co-pilot riding shotgun for company and with the cowling and side-panels in situ can be surprisingly cosy, even on winter runs. Regrettably, no registration documents or log-book are present and there appears to be no evidence of the original registration number.

M.O.T. history, was showing 115,175 miles when tested on 8/11/2022. Started immediately and seemed to operate normally when driven in the sale field. A tow-bar is fitted with a 50 mm ball hitch. Two sets of keys come with the vehicle. The paint-work appears tidy but the vehicle would benefit from a valet internally. Currently untaxed, expired 25/05/2023. A V5C document is present, but does not bear the current owner's name.
