Die-stamped silvered shamrock wreath bearing battle honours and surmounted by a crown resting on a scroll inscribed “Quis Separabit”. Within the wreath, a Maid of Erin Harp over the Sphinx on a tablet inscribed “Egypt” with a scroll inscribed “South Africa 1899-1902” below. At the base of the wreath a strung bugle with a scroll resting on the strings inscribed “Royal Ulster Rifles”. Four screw posts to reverse and complete with mirrored backing plate. VGC 1st July 1968, The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, The Royal Ulster Rifles and The Royal Irish Fusiliers amalgamated to form The Royal Irish Rangers who in turn amalgamated with The Ulster Defence Regiment on 1st July 1992 to from The Royal Irish Regiment.

WW1 Royal Marine Light Infantry Gallipoli Casualty Officer’s Dress Cap. A very rare example worn by Lieutenant Stanton Degge Wilmot-Sitwell who was Killed in Action at Gallipoli in July 1915. The peaked cap is of dark blue cloth with scarlet cap band, this is mounted with a bullion and silvered globe and laurel and above this a gilt bugle. Small rounded peak of black patent leather and complete with chinstrap. The interior with crimson silk lining and leather sweatband. Minor age wear and some age congealing to chinstrap and peak. ... Contained in original metal storage tin, with brass engraved name plate. Lieutenant Stanton Degge Wilmot-Sitwell was commissioned into RMLI on the 29th August 1914 and promoted Lieutenant in March 1915. After service at the RM Depot Victory he embarked for Gallipoli landing on the 28th April 1915 and was Killed in Action on the 4th July 1915 at the age of 18.
Badge. Scottish. 90th (Perthshire Vols) William IV / Victorian Officer’s shoulder belt plate circa 1830-45. A fine and scarce example. Burnished gilt rectangular plate mounted silver Union demi wreath; resting in the wreath a crowned oval strap inscribed “Perthshire Light Infantry”; to the centre, a strung bugle with XC below. The base of the wreath is entwined with horizontal fasces. Reverse retains original fixings comprising two hooks and two studs. Minor wear to gilt otherwise generally VGC (Parkyn 228) 90th (Perthshire Volunteers) (Light Infantry) became Became 2nd Bn. Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) on Friday 1st July 1881.

Within a crowned strap inscribed “Royal Middlesex Rifles”, a strung bugle set on a black velvet ground. Four screw posts to reverse. Laurel wreath surmounted by a crown resting on a tablet inscribed “Waterloo”; within the wreath, a Maltese cross; to the centre of the cross, within a circlet inscribed “Rifle Brigade”, a crowned strung bugle. The wreath and arms of the cross bear the numerous honours of the Regiment. To the base of the wreath, a scroll inscribed “The Prince Consort’s Own”. Four screw posts to reverse. VGC
Scottish. Leith Volunteer Rifles 5th VB Royal Scots Battalion Pattern Sword. An unusual Battalion variation of the regulation Rifles, Light Infantry pattern sword. The blade with etched decoration of a Crowned strung bugle, bearing the title “Leith Volunteer Rifles”. The reverse with the owners initials of entwined “EVR”. The forte with the retailer’s name of “Marshall & Aitken Edinburgh”. The hilt is of the Rifle pattern, but with the Battalion distinction of a Crowned regimental device. Retaining shagreen grip, with twist wire binding and housed in original steel scabbard. The blade remains clean with minor marks, plating to hilt and scabbard dulled with some rusting.

Crowned Maltese cross, with lions between the angles, bearing circlet inscribed “Central London Rangers”, strung bugle central mirrored backing plate. Three screw posts to reverse. VGC 40th Mx RV Central London Rangers renumbered 22nd Middlesex Rifle Volunteers (Central London Rangers) in 1880. 1st April 1908 transferred to the new Territorial Force as 12th Bn The London Regiment (The Rangers).

The hilt of the regulation pattern incorporating a Crowned strung bugle. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding and housed in its steel scabbard. Approximately half the blade is in Very good clean condition the lower 1/4 with small blistering and some pitting. The King’s County Rifles Militia under Lord Rosse; became 3rd Bn. Leinster Regt. on 1st July 1881

A good scarce short lived gilt example of crowned star pattern mounted with laurel wreath and Garter, the green enamel centre mounted with silver strung bugle with gilt “KSLI” between the strings. To the base of the wreath, an applied tri-part scroll “The Shropshire Lt. Infy.”. Three pinched loops to reverse. Verdigris to reverse and a trace on the obverse beneath the crown. GC 53rd Foot (Shropshire) became 1st Bn. King’s Light Infantry (Shropshire Regiment) on Friday 1st July, 1881 under Cardwell’s reforms. Die-stamped crossed kukris surmounted by a Prince of Wales’s plumes with small “1” and with strung bugle below. Three stout loops to reverse. VGC Became 1st Prince of Wales’s Own Gurkha Rifles in 1906 when he visited India, then 1st King George’s Own Gurkha Rifles when he ascended the throne upon Edward VII’s death in 1910.

Quoit with engraved edge mounted with thistle wreath bearing 28 battle honours to “Tel El Kabir”. To the centre, a cut silver Star of the Order of the Thistle; mounted on the Star a curled bugle horn with gilt Imperial Crown, “HLI” monogram; “Assaye” scroll and Elephant. Original stout pin to reverse which bears maker’s logo of a thistle. VGC
Royal Marine Light Infantry Colour Sergeant’s rank badge circa 1902-23. A good example of scarlet cloth embroidered with bullion laurel wreath (now silver colour); within the wreath, a padded bullion Globe set on crossed silk Union flags surmounted by a bugle horn, in turn surmounted by a crown. Between the base of the Globe and that of the wreath, a bullion fouled anchor; beneath the wreath, a pair of crossed sabres. A little service wear. GC The Royal Marine Light Infantry amalgamated with the Royal Marine Artillery in 1923 to form The Royal Marines.
