An Indian Army officer’s 1827 pattern sword of the Berar Volunteer Rifles, almost straight, fullered blade 32½”, by Wilkinson, no 28130 (1887) on backstrap, etched with crowned VR cypher and wreath on one side, and crowned blank escutcheon and strung bugle on the other, all in scrolled fenestrated panels, with “C.Little. Commandant. Berar Volunteer Rifles, 1887” in panel at forte, regulation pierced steel hilt incorporating crowned strung bugle in wreath, stepped pommel, chequered panel to backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip. Sword: An interesting broadsword by Henry Wilkinson. Blade 28" with 'Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London' to ricasso and the legend 'DEUS VULT' and 'Conclave MCMXXI' (1921). Seems to commemorate a Templar Conclave of the Crusader Knights in 1921. Sword has bugle quillons and langets, polished turned wood grip with disc pommel. A well made and interesting piece. No scabbard.

Housed in gilt brass mounting and sits in leather covered partial case. Measures 8 x 9 ½ cm.

Scottish. Argyllshire Highland Rifle Volunteers Victorian Officer's shoulder belt plate.A very fine and scarce silvered example. Rectangular plate mounted with Thistle star; to the centre within a Celtic circlet, a crowned ornate coiled bugle horn bearing a boar's head. Reverse retains original two hooks and two studs. Old restoration to top star ray. VGCBecame a VB of the A & SH on 1st July 1881, redesignated 5th VB 1st December 1887 during which time the plate continued in service.
1861 Victorian Norwich Rifle Volunteers Presentation Sword.This is an example of a specially commissioned 1827 Light Infantry pattern sword. The blade with full length engraved decoration with presentation panel "This sword was presented with a Henrys Rifle to Captain Middleton by the Officer's and Privates of No.1 Company Norwich Rifle Volunteers as a token of the high regard and esteem October 1861". Also engraved with an Armorial crest. The hilt of regulation pattern incor[porating a crown strung bugle device. The shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Blade decoration is clear, some overall minor age wear and dulling. PLEASE NOTE scabbard absent.
Indian Army. 31st Trichinopoly Light Infantry Victorian shoulder belt plate.A good rare Indian made example. Cast brass rectangular plate with cantered corners mounted with large silver strung bugle with "XXXI" between the strings. Below, a brass scroll with silvered "T.L.I.". Reverse retains a hook and two studs. Top of bugle cords with fixed ring in order to secure whistle chains (not present). Service wear. GCEx.Bosleys. Provenance : In the effects of Captain Charles Colin Campbell, born 1842, who served in the regiment from 1867 until promoted Major 13th April, 1885 upon his transfer to 23rd Wallajahbad Light Infantry.
2nd (Bodmin) VB Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry Victorian Officer's helmet plate circa 1885-1901.A very fine and scarce silvered example with oval Hobson & Sons, 1, 3 & 5 Lexington St, London W. plate to reverse. Crowned star mounted with laurel wreath and Garter, the centre with strung bugle mounted with silver turreted archway and feathers with red cloth insets. To the base of the wreath, an applied silver scroll inscribed "The Duke of Cornwall's Lt. Infy." with supplementary scroll beneath "2nd Volunteer Battalion" . Three loops to reverse. Slight wear to velvet. VGC

Maple wreath surmounted by Prince of Wales's plumes, "Nunquam Cede" scroll across the base of the wreath. Within the wreath a strap "The 14th or Princess of Wales Own Rifles Canada""; to the centre crossed flags with curled bugle above and beaver below. Three loops to reverse. VGC

Within a laurel wreath surmounted by a Guelphic Crown resting on a blank tablet, a Maltese cross with circlet inscribed "Rifle Brigade", centrally a crowned strung bugle. Mounted on the base of the wreath, a scroll inscribed The Prince Consort's Own". Four screw posts to reverse. Slight service wear. GCWorn by 5th Bn (late 2nd R.Tower Hamlets Militia), 6th (late Royal Regt. of Longford Rifles Irish Militia), 7th (late 1st R.Tower Hamlets Militia), 8th (late Leitrim Rifles Irish Militia disbanded 1889) and 9th (late Westmeath Rifles Irish Militia) Battalions RB.
Royal Marine Light Infantry Victorian Officer's helmet plate circa 1878-1901.A good gilt crowned star mounted with laurel wreath joined at the top by a scroll inscribed "Gibraltar; fouled anchor to the junction below. Within the wreath, a pierced strap inscribed "Per Mare Per Terram" on blue enamel ground. To the centre, a silver globe in relief. Mounted beneath the wreath, a silver strung bugle. 2nd (Chippenham) Wiltshire Rifle Volunteers Victorian 1863 Birmingham hallmarked silver Officer’s pouch belt plate. A fine and scarce die-stamped example by Bent and Parker. Hoop edged crowned oval strap "Wiltshire Rifle Volunteers", strung bugle horn to centre with "2" between the strings. Four screw posts to reverse. VGC 2nd Wiltshire RV's became a VB of the regiment on Friday 1st July 1881 however not designated 2nd VB until 1st December 1887. HQ at Chippenham

Crowned five pointed star bearing circlet inscribed "Central India, Abyssinia, Meanee, Hydrabad" and central strung bugle with "25" between the strings. Scroll beneath the star inscribed "Bombay Light Infantry". Two loops to reverse. VGCOriginally formed as 1st Extra Battalion of Bombay Native Infantry in 1820; redesignated 25th Regiment of Bombay Native (Light) Infantry in 1826; various slight changes to title until 1903 when redesignated 125th Napier's Rifles; 5th (Napier's) Bn. 6th Rajputana Rifles in 1922.
Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry Victorian Officer's post 1881 forage cap badge.A very fine scarce die-cast example comprising a rich gilt strung bugle; on the cords of the bugle, crossed gilt feathers with gilt inserts; silver turreted archway on the feathers. Three loops to reverse. Together with die-stamped gilt scroll worn below inscribed "The Duke of Cornwall's Lt. Infy". Two loops to reverse. VGCInitially worn without separate scroll.

Stout pagri badge to reverse. VGC (Cox 2713)Formed on 29th October 1878. Honorary Colonel was The Governor of Madras. The corps amalgamated with the Coimbatore Volunteer Corps in 1892, and with the Malabar Volunteer Rifles in 1917 as the 20th Nilgiri Malabar Battalion.
