A LIGHT COMPANY OFFICER'S SABRE, 76cm pipe backed blade with spear point, characteristic gilt stirrup hilt with elongated langets and pommel, the front of the guard applied with a strung bugle horn, fishskin covered wooden grip, losses. See Wallis & Wallis October 2000 for a similar sword attributed to the 52nd Regiment. Also see Swords of the British Army by Robson page 153 and 154. Circa 1803.

1897 Pattern Durham Light Infantry Officer’s Sword 32 inch, dumb bell blade with central fuller. Foliage etched panels with crowned “GRV” cypher and intertwined owner’s initials with KC D.L.I.strung bugle. The forte stamped ‘Weyersberg Solingen”. Plated steel, floral pierced guard with KC “GRV” cypher. Plated steel, checkered backstrap. Shagreen covered grip with twist wire binding. Contained in its leather covered, field scabbard. Some plating loss to hilt.

Shagreen covered grip with twist wire binding. Contained in its leather covered, field scabbard. Some damage to hilt, pommel nut replaced and tip of scabbard damaged.

WW1 French Light Infantry (Chasseurs) Adrian Pattern Steel Helmet, good untouched example with dark horizon blue paint finish to the exterior and interior of the shell. Light infantry bugle badge to the centre of the helmet. Interior retains the original leather liner and leather chinstrap. Some wear to the exterior paint and dryness to the leather liner.
WW1 French Garrison / Side Cap, heavy horizon blue wool example with bullion embroidered badge in the form of horn bugle with flaming grenade above. Front of the cap has braid rank insignia. Interior with blue cloth sweatband. Accompanied by another horizon blue side cap with thick golden yellow piping, regimental number and red circle above, thick black rank insignia to the front. Black cloth sweatband to the interior. (2 items)
1914 Prussian Bugle, good combat used example of the brass and nickel plated field bugle having Prussian eagle cartouche to the centre. Stamped with makers mark “ALEXANDER MAINZ” and 1914 date. Complete with mouth piece. Attached to the bugle is the original (damaged) brown leather strap. Some denting and small cracks to the body but otherwise a good untouched example.
Post 1902 Royal Marine Light Infantry Officers Home Service Helmet Plate, universal pattern officers helmet plate with crown replacing top arm, laurel spray with anchor and silvered strung bugle to the bottom and scroll with Gibraltar to the top. Pierced circlet with motto “PER MARE PER TERRAM” set upon blue enamel backing. Silvered globe to the centre of the bade. Three lug fittings to the reverse. We believed that the crown was changed from Victorian once Edward VII took the throne.
Rare Pre-1857 Indian Army 49th Bengal Native Infantry Officers Shoulder Belt Plate, superb example of an officers gilt rectangular plate with silver overlay in the form of a oakleaves wreath with strap having regimental details, centre Roman numerals XLIX set upon blue enamel. Above centre is silvered strung bugle and lower part has scroll with “ARRACAN”. Reverse with two studs and hook fittings. Complete with the original leather backing.
British Boys Brigade Sword of Bertie Louis De La Porte, an interesting short pattern Rifles sword with guard having crowned strung bugle to centre. Grip retains the original wire binding. Housed in the original steel scabbard with two hanging rings. Blade is etched with the name of the original owner “BERTIE LOUIS DE LA PORTE”. The blade is officially blunt to the edges and point. Accompanied by Boys Brigade Holy Bible with named award cards inside. Sword blade 66 ½ cms, overall 84cms.
