Two lug fittings to the reverse. Original blackened finish removed; Other ranks home service helmet plate for the Hampshire Regiment with loop fittings to the reverse; Post 1905 London Rifle Brigade shako / helmet plate with “S.AFRICA 1900-02” battle honour. Two copper lug fittings to the reverse; Victorian strung bugle silvered pouch badge and a brass crowned VR cipher pouch badge. (5 items)
Victorian First Surrey Rifles Officers Cross Belt & Pouch Set, fine example of the black leather cross belt with superb quality gilt officers two piece badge, lion head boss with linked chain to gilt whistle housed in gilt holder. Black leather pouch with gilt metal strung bugle badge to the centre. The set remains in excellent condition with much of the original gilt wash finish remaining.
Victorian Officers Cross Belt and Pouch Set of the 1st Nottinghamshire Rifle Volunteer Corps, black patent leather belt with good quality silver plated mounts, including crowned Maltese cross belt plate badge, circular boss with applied design of Arms of Nottingham with loop for chain to whistle, buckle, tip and slide, the plain tip in the form of a stylized fleur-de-lys, slide embossed with wreath, and open panelled buckle with crowned VR in a spray of stylized lilies, patent leather pouch bearing crown and oak leaf and acorn spray with strung bugle. Good Condition overall.
Scarce Victorian Irish Militia Queens County Rifles Glengarry Badge 1874-81, fine example being bronzed crowned light infantry bugle sitting on scroll with “QUEENS COUNTY RIFLES” within. Three lug fittings to the reverse. Raised 1793 at Montrath, became the 4th Battalion of the Leinster regiment, July 1881.
Rare Victorian Royal Jersey Light Infantry 2nd (East) Militia Officers Home Service Helmet Plate, gilt crowned officers universal pattern helmet plate with laurel spray, circlet with regimental details and centre a strung bugle with 2 to centre on red felt backing. Three lug fittings to the reverse. Accompanied by an original cabinet photograph of the original owner, clearly wearing the helmet plate. Damage to the corner of the photograph.

General wear and tear conducive with age and use and possible loss to the end of the trumpet handle. Chip to the base. Some firing faults to the glaze, etc. See images for more details.

The 32" (81cm) slightly curved, etched blade with crowned VR cypher to one side and rifles badge to the reverse, the steel gothic hilt with crowned strung bugle and wire-bound fishskin covered grip. In steel scabbard. Total sword length 38" (96cm).
