A Bute Mountain Brigade regimental brass bugle, by `Douglas & Son. Ltd, 36 Brunswick, Glasgow`, stamped with regimental crest for `4th Highland Brigade R.G.A.`, privately engraved `Bute Battery`, 26.5cm with lanyard and mouthpiece. The Bute Battery provided the first canons on the ground immediately after the infantry had secured the beaches in the south of the peninsula at Helles Point, Gallipoli on the 25th of April 1915. (1)
*A Victorian Officer`s Dress Sword by Wilkinsons, Property of Captain C.V. Fitzroy, Rifle Brigade, (serial number 12817), the 81.5cm blade by `Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall, London`, etched `R.B.` with strung bugle and foliate scrolls, and initials `C.V.F.` beneath heraldic lion, pierced steel guard with Coldstream Guard crest, wire-bound fish-skin grip, stepped pommel, 94.5cm overall, in its steel scabbard. Captain Charles Vane Fitzroy (1836-1871), commissioned Captain in the Rifle Brigade 25.3.1856, entitled to the 5th Class Order of Medjidie. The record from the Wilkinsons Archive states that a Dress Rifle Sword with Solid Toledo, Letchen Point Blade was finished by Henry Wilkinson on 20th October 1863 and sold to Fitzroy Esq. (1)

W.`, reverse inscribed `Capt R.J. Jones, Lieut.R. Wilkin, 2nd Lieut.L. Wilkin, L. Company, Queen`s Westr Vols, June 1894`, 17cm x 11cm. Provenance: from the estate of Major Robert J. Cosgrave, real photographic postcard of McGuinness in a group with Cosgrave, Military Service Pensions form detailing his service, letter sent by his wife from Kerry relating to the Civil War and the burials of soldiers killed at the Battle of Kilmallock, two small pocket watches, flask, small bugle, postcard of Kevin O`Higgins, military maps used for training purposes. Also a copied photograph of McGuiness and copied documents relating to his service. A comprehensive collection relating to a high ranking Irish Army officer.
