A Victorian Volunteer Rifles Officer's Sword by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, the 87cm single edge fullered steel blade edge with regimental badge, royal cypher and foliage, with HW Proved poincon, etched with maker's name, the back edge numbered 5367, the steel gothic hilt pierced and engraved with crowned strung bugle, with steel two ring scabbard, 103cm . Blade with black patching and pitting. Dent to the scabbard on one side between the suspender rings.

Black corded boss bearing King crown above a bugle-horn. The interior with leather sweatband crimson cloth lining. Overall GC slight age wear, plume absent.
Rifle Regiment Other Rank Sealskin Rifle Cap. A good example of black sealskin with plaited green mohair cord across the front. A green cord boss is mounted with a blackened post 1901 crowned bugle device. Complete with a scarlet over black horse hair plume. The interior is with leather sweat band. Overall GC some balding to the crown of the sealskin.

J. F. Hodder. Oxf: & Bucks: L.I.); British War and Victory Medals (1804 J. F. Hodder. Oxf. & Bucks. L.I.); Special Constabulary Long Service Medal, G.V.R., 1st issue, 1 clasp, Long Service 1940 (John F. Hodder) together with companion set of mounted miniature medals, and silver cigarette case, the lid engraved with L.I. bugle and ‘F.J.H. 10th May 1917’, very fine (6) £100-£140 --- John Francis Hodder served with the 1/4th Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry in France from 29 March 1915. He became a Constable with the Winchester Special Police in 1921 and was injured during an air raid on a southern town on the night of 9 February 1943. He died of his injuries at the Canadian Neurological Hospital, Winslade, Hampshire, on 12 February 1943. Sold with three O.B.L.I. badges and some copied research.
