A BRITISH 1827 PATTERN INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD of standard production specification, the 84cm straight spear-point etched blade bearing a crown above the royal cypher and infantry strung bugle device, the regulation steel hilt with VR crowned bugle cartouche, and wire-bound fish skin grip, in its brass scabbard, overal 99cm long.
A Late 1930's Wedding Dress, in oyster satin, bias cut with small train, the bodice and wrist length sleeves decorated with bugle beads, with veil and orange blossom style head-dress (with three studio photographs of the bride and groom and a newspaper dated June 3rd 1939 with an article about the wedding); a later baby's lace embroidered christening gown.

Antique Victorian Parasol & Shawl. Lovely vintage parasol in black silk with fringing, folding wooden handle with brass trim, and bakelite ring top. Some wear and tear in accordance with the age. Also, a Victorian heavily hand beaded black shawl with tie to front, in lovely condition, covered in bugle beads and beaded fringing, lovely item. Basically GC, the blade retaining some original polish (dark rust to hilt and scabbard)

An interesting Vic 1827 pattern officer's sword of the 1st Cinque Ports Rifle Volunteers (Hastings), very slightly curved, fullered blade 32½”, by Duke, Hastings, etched in scroll panels on one side with crowned VR, and on the other with strung bugle and 1st/ scroll “C.P.R.V”, regulation steel hilt with sideloop, knucklebar and 2 sidebars incorporating crowned strung bugle, stepped pommel, top of backstrap later engraved “J. Austin Miller, 4th August 1914”, chequered thumbpiece, wirebound, fishskin grip with later leather knot, in its steel scabbard with 2 rings. GC (minor wear and light pitting). Plate 8

Wire bound shagreen grip. Guard with Queens Crown and Bugle. Overall length 95cm. Complete with scabbard with double suspension rings.

Wherein is handled and set out the vertues, nature, and properties of fifteene sundry chaces, together with the order and manner how to hunt and kill euery one of them, second edition, title with large woodcut vignette of hunting with hounds, large woodcuts in text (with those on F6r and I3r altered so that James I has replaced Elizabeth I), 4pp. woodcut music for bugle calls at end, lacking initial blank, a few ff. with repair to lower margin, [Harting 15 (note); Schwerdt p.272; STC 24329], Printed by Thomas Purfoot, 1611, together 2 works in 1 vol., occasional spotting, some light staining, mostly in second work, attractive 19th century red crushed morocco, richly gilt, spine in compartments and with black leather label, little rubbed at extremities, g.e., small 4to (book block 184 x 138mm; binding 193 x 154mm.)⁂ Two of the most important early works on hawking and hunting, which are nearly always found together. The first work is an adaptation of the works of Giorgi, Carcano, Tardif and Artelouche; the second is to all intents and purposes a translation of Du Fouilloux's La Venerie, 1573.

Educated at Harrow Sir Thomas served as Captains Commandant 1860, Major 1863, Lt. Col 1864 and Honorary Colonel 1884. Sold with a small folio of research and images.
