Crowned star mounted with circlet "Surrey Rifle Volunteers"; strung bugle centre with XIX between the cords. Two horizontal loops to reverse. VGC Raised 13th March 1860 at Lambeth; redesignated 7th on 3rd September 1880 with headquarters at New Street, Kennington Park , renumbered 8th only 4 days later. Became a VB of the Royal West Surrey Regiment on Friday 1st July 1881; redesignated as 4th VB on 1st March 1883.

A large example of scarlet cloth embroidered with bullion crowned laurel sprays resting on crossed sabres; centrally a padded bullion Globe set on crossed silk Union flags surmounted by a bugle horn, over a fouled anchor; beneath the wreath, a pair of crossed sabres and chevron. Service wear and mothed. GC The Royal Marine Light Infantry amalgamated with the Royal Marine Artillery in 1923 to form The Royal Marines.

A crowned eight pointed star with laurel sprays and central circle, "3rd or Royal Westminster Middlesex", in the centre on a ground of yellow velvet a strung bugle horn over a shield, per pale, Westminster and Middlesex. across the base of the laurels a scroll, "Mediterranean". Three loops to reverse. VGC (KK 1173) HQ. Turnham Green. This is the actual piece photographed as No. 1173 in "Head-dress Badges of the British Army".

Lightly gilded heavy rectangular plate mounted crown resting on an ornate honours scroll over laurel sprays with Sphinx resting on "Egypt" tablet; "Ava" below. Centrally within regimental title, a strung bugle with "XIII" between the cords, surmounted by a Mural crown. On the sprays "Martinique" and "Affghanistan" scrolls. 85th Foot Victorian Officer's shoulder belt plate circa 1840-55. A fine example with cast silver mounts. Burnished gilt rectangular plate mounted with silver sprays of laurel and palm joined by ‘Nive' scroll; within the wreath an oval crowned silver strap inscribed "Aucto Splendore Resurgo"; to the centre, a silver strung bugle with "85" between the cords and a scroll flowing over the knot inscribed "The King's Light Inf". Tri-part scroll inscribed "Fuentes Donor Peninsula Bladensburg" to base. Two hooks and two studs to reverse, complete with original backing leather. VGC (Parkyn 414) The 85th was granted the title "King's Light Infantry" in 1821. Became 2nd Bn KSLI 1.71881
68th (Durham Light Infantry) Regiment Victorian pre 1855 Officer's shoulder belt plate. A good scarce example. Copper gilt rectangular plate mounted with silver tri-part honour scrolls to top and bottom; between, crown over laurel and palm sprays supporting strung bugle with ‘68' between the cords. Reverse with two hooks and two studs, complete with leather liner. Some wear to gilt (Parkyn 463)

The hilt of the regulation pattern, incorporating to the open guard a strung bugle device. Housed in metal scabbard. Blade and etching remain in good clean condition, hilt and scabbard with dulling age wear.

CONDITION REPORT Some staining to the green dress and age related wear, back of the silk sash is ripped, some wear to hem, cream dress has small holes to the skirt lace is intact
