Presented in a tasteful stained wooden chest measuring c25" x 15" x 3" with glass top and blue felt inner lining. VGC

Plus The Austin A 40 Van. A drawing similar in size to the ones offered in our previous auction (see lot 978 ‘Omnisport 30cm x 25cm. Dated 20/10/52. A drawing showing the general outline of the van with the individual jobs identified around the picture. In a simple glazed black aluminium frame.
BETJEMAN JOHN: (1906-1984) English Poet Laureate. T.L.S., John Trebetjeman, Cornish Nationalist, one page, oblong 8vo, The Mead, Wantage, Berkshire, 30th April 1953, to Mrs. Muir. Betjeman thanks his correspondent for letting him know about her novel and remarks `It sounds a most interesting one, and I shall try and see that something is done about it.` In concluding he adds that he hopes that she enjoys herself in Germany although comments `You would have been better advised to visit Denmark or Kirkwall`.
