W.D., R.G.A.) extremely fine and rare £250-300 Gunner Thomas Austin was attached to the Cape Mounted Rifles at Wepener. This clasp is believed to be unique to the Royal Artillery. He served in France and Flanders with the 20th Hussars from 7 October 1914 and was killed in action there on 13 May 1915 whilst attached to the Royal Horse Guards. He is buried at New Irish Farm Cemetery, West Vlaanderen, Belgium.
