Registration - TLJ 293R Chassis No. - 6D6 14102854 M.O.T. - Exempt Odometer - 25,438 Reliant’s small four-wheeler is popular with custom car fans, and ‘TLJ 293R’ has clearly been a very enjoyable project for one such enthusiast. Cosmetically it has benefited from a full windows-out, doors-off respray in blue, new mirrors and front window seals and new front indicator units. It also sports a new, jaunty, custom-made Paisley velvet headliner which sets off the black interior nicely and is an absolute homage to the 1970s. The 850cc engine has been fully rebuilt – according to the current owner ‘everything’ is new, ‘including nuts and bolts.’ ‘TLJ 293R’ now boasts a large Weber 34 ICT carburettor, new alternator, radiator, starter motor, clutch and upgraded roller clutch release bearing and new brake shoes all round. It also has a Rebels Racing customised exhaust intake manifold and customised four-branch large bore outlet manifold as well as a full bespoke stainless steel exhaust pipe. Finally, the Kitten which now has rather sharper claws than when it rolled off the Tamworth production line, has had a full performance tuning on a rolling road. This eye-catching little car is offered at No Reserve and should reward its new keeper with a tremendous amount of fun. Launched in 1975 and produced in the UK until 1982, the Kitten was Reliant’s second try at entering the small economy car market, following on from the Reliant Rebel of the 1960s. Based on the Reliant Robin – albeit with a fourth wheel, double wishbone front suspension and a more forward-positioned, 850cc engine – the Ogle-styled Kitten was offered in saloon, estate and van variants. When it was first unveiled the feedback was that the Kitten was essentially just a four-wheeled Robin, so a speedy redesign of the front end was commissioned, utilising the square headlamps already seen on the Austin Allegro. The deluxe DL model, introduced in 1976, had a particular claim to fame – it was the first small car in the UK to come with a rear wiper as standard. In summary: An eye-catching example, performance tuned on a rolling road and offered at No Reserve Rebuilt engine with Weber 34 ICT carburettor New Rebels racing customised exhaust system

Lot 45

Registration - TK 4175 Chassis No. - 106539 M.O.T. - Exempt Odometer - 35,000 This delightful little Austin Seven Chummy tourer has had just three, devoted owners from new, with the first owner cherishing it for a remarkable 68 years. During the second owner’s 16-year tenure, ‘TK 4175’ was resprayed, changing the colour scheme from yellow over black to the blue over black which it sports to this day. This is an older restoration which the vendor describes as being in ‘very good condition’ throughout. The 800cc engine now boasts an upgraded SU carburettor, and the original carburettor is also offered with the car. The Chummy has also benefited from the electric start being converted to 12v power. It bears its original, transferable registration ‘TK 4175’, has recently had four new tyres fitted, and comes complete with full weather gear including side screens and a large file of historic invoices and documents such as the original buff logbook. This is a much-loved, jaunty little four-seater that will reward its new owner with an enormous amount of fun. Apparently inspired by the Peugeot Quadrilette, the now immortal Austin Seven was announced in 1922. It is amazing to think that its tiny splash-lubricated 696cc (soon increased to 747cc) engine was the design of an 18-year-old draughtsman called Stanley Edge, and the Seven immediately became the smallest four cylinder-engined car on the British market. It featured four-wheel brakes, suspension by semi-elliptic transverse spring at the front and quarter elliptic units at the rear, while the steering was by a worm and wheel system. Taken to heart by the British public, the Seven remained in production from 1922 until 1939, during which time some 290,000 were produced. It was also manufactured under licence in France, Germany, Japan and America. The remaining cars are a vital element of the vintage movement. In summary: A charismatic example, with just three owners from new A much-loved, older restoration, presented in ‘good condition’ throughout Comes complete with full wet weather gear and a large history file

Lot 38

Registration - UTU 568V Chassis No. - GAN6-222182G M.O.T. - Exempt Odometer - 83,525 A wonderful example of a classic British roadster, this example of the MG Midget 1500 has had extensive work carried out, including a new engine, and bumper conversion. Presented in bright read bodywork – with deeper red swathe and MG logo down each flank – ‘WGA 546V’ has a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that has only covered 5,000 miles since being installed. It’s hooked up to the standard four-speed gearbox, creating an original driving experience for this classic MG. That new engine has been converted to running on unleaded, plus work has been done on the dampers, with new interior and roof fitted, alongside a set of new tyres. The chrome bumpers bring back a more retro look to the design as part of a complete body rebuilt between 2009 and 2012 – including new doors, bonnet, and boot lid – and photos for all work carried out by the vendor over the past eleven years are offered. The rest of the car – other than the engine’s 5,000 miles – has covered 83,525 miles according to the odometer, and the original engine is available for collection at the buyers expense should it be wanted. MG’s Midget was produced between 1961 and 1979 over four different generations – Marks I, II, and III, as well as the Midget 1500. Initially based on the Austin-Healey Sprite, the Midget came with a 948cc A-Series engine, before being increased in capacity to 1098cc in late 1962. The Mk II arrived in 1964, lasting until 1966, with wind-up windows add, external handles, and separate locks in the doors. The windscreen was slightly more curved, and power was increased a little. The third-generation lasted from 1966 until 1974, using the 1275cc engine from the Mini Cooper, though detuned a little so as not to make the Midget faster than the MGB. The Midget 1500 lasted until 1980, with the most significant changed being the rubber bumpers and raised ride-height to allow for sales in the US. The last Midget ran out in December 1979, after almost 74,000 were produced. In summary: · Vibrantly presented example of MG’s classic compact 1960s roadster. · This MG Midget 1500 comes with a new engine with only 5,000 miles · Overhauled body and interior help account for a car in immaculate condition

Lot 49

Registration - 2000UE Chassis No. - 11BT711208 M.O.T. - Exempt Odometer - 20,917 The timeless shape of this Austin Healey 3000 MkI is brilliantly presented in Colorado Red-over-black paintwork, accentuating the classic roadster curves. Rolling off the Abingdon production line in 1960, this MkI is an early example of the ‘Big’ Healey, and one made for the home market – at one point, nine in every ten made were exported. This 2+2 convertible has remarkably only had three former keepers from new, and comes with a wealth of information throughout its time on the road. Featuring a 2.9-litre straight six engine and short-throw four-speed manual gearbox, ‘2000 UE’ is described by the vendor as in great condition throughout. Engine and electrics are rated as excellent, and transmission, bodywork, paint, and the interior as good. That cabin sees part-leather trim installed, and classically sporty white dials set into the black dashboard, with two ‘seats’ in the rear that could fit children. Presented with only 20,917 miles, this 3000 MkI comes with heritage certificate and original buff log-book with MOTs dating back to 1971. Following its launch, the ‘Big’ Healey enjoyed steady development, with the early four-cylinder cars giving way to the 100-Six in 1956, and the first of the 3000s in 1959. By now engine capacity had risen to 2,912cc and power output to 124bhp. By the time of the MKII’s appearance in 1961, 2,825 (two-seat) BN7s and 10,825 (four-seat) BT7s had been produced. In summary: · An apparently pleasingly original early home market BT7 · Comes complete with buff log book and Heritage Certificate · The recipient of lots of recent maintenance

Lot 48

Registration – TSY 218 Chassis No. – BN61371 M.O.T. – Exempt Odometer – 17,563 This highly attractive, quintessential British convertible is very well presented in metallic blue over white paint, with smart dark blue interior with white piping. In its present enthusiast ownership for nearly two decades, ‘TSY 218’s short list of former keepers include Commodore Cooke-Priest CBE, one-time Commander of the world’s most advanced aircraft carrier, the HMS Queen Elizabeth. This desirable example from the final year of 100-6 production is offered complete with what the vendor describes as a ‘huge’ history file – in fact, four Lever Archer folders - of documents and photographs of the extensive, older restoration, which included an upgrade to a Healey 3000 engine. More recently, ‘TSY 218’ has received new wire wheels and tyres, a brake overhaul, new distributor and alternator, coil and spark plugs, plus new hood, frame and tonneau cover. The vendor describes all aspects of the car as ‘good’. The car has been regularly maintained and MOT’d and carries a current MOT to 2 November 2024, with no advisories. MOT records show it has covered just over 11,000 miles in the past 19 years. It is now waiting for a new owner to add to those miles and enjoy years of wind-in-the-hair motoring. Donald Healey’s eponymous company built a prototype two-seater sports car for display at the 1952 London Motor Show. It was based on Austin A90 Atlantic mechanicals and sported a sleek body designed by Gerry Coker and built by Tickford. Healey planned to build production versions at his factory in Warwick, but as things transpired, the prototype so impressed both the public and Austin’s Managing Director Leonard Lord, that he agreed to build the car in volume at Longbridge. The newcomer was renamed the Austin-Healey 100. The production bodyshells were made by Jensen and then transported to Longbridge where the cars were assembled alongside the A90. The last of the 100 models, the BN4 (2+2 seater) and BN6 (2-seater, as per the sale car) had a two-inch longer wheelbase and were powered by the six-cylinder 2,639cc BMC C Series engine originally found in the Austin Westminster. Early versions gave 102bhp, but by 1957 output of the 100-6 had risen to 117bhp. In summary: · A very well-presented late example of Donald Healey’s classic british sportscar · An older restoration with an upgraded 3-litre engine · Extensive history and restoration records, and recent new hood, frame and cover and new wheels and tyres

Lot 47

Registration - MFO 957 Chassis No. - AN522208 M.O.T. - Exempt Odometer - 39,029 This charming, sporty little car has been in the same ownership for the past 17 years, and its three previous owners were all members of one family. This ‘frogeye’ has been cherished throughout its life, serviced annually and comes with Heritage Certificate and a file of MOTs and invoices documenting the work carried out over the years. ‘MFO 957’ has enjoyed a total body rebuild and, originally Irish blue, it was resprayed in smart British Racing Green which contrasts nicely with the cream leather upholstery and fascia. The original 948cc engine has been upgraded to a 1098cc BMC A series unit, which has been completely rebuilt, and new brake discs and upgraded rear brakes have also been fitted. This little Sprite sits on sporting wire wheels, shod in Uniroyal Rain Expert tyres and comes complete with hard top in British Racing Green with a stylish cream stripe. The current owner describes the electrics and four-speed manual transmission as ‘excellent’. With its smart chrome luggage rack on the back, ‘MFO 957’ is ready and waiting to take its new owner off on adventures. Thanks to its prominent, bonnet-mounted headlights, the original Sprite quickly became known as the ‘Frogeye’ - a moniker that has stuck to this day. The little two-seater, designed by the Donald Healey Motor Company and built by BMC at the MG factory in Abingdon, was launched in Monte Carlo immediately prior to the 1958 Monaco Grand Prix. The unique, one-piece bonnet covered a mildly tuned, 43bhp 948cc version of the BMC A series engine already found in the Austin A35 and Morris Minor. The suspension was by coil springs and wishbones at the front and quarter elliptic springs at the rear, with lever arm dampers all round. The construction was ‘integrated’ rather than a full monocoque and featured forward projecting chassis legs of the type used in the E-Type Jaguar. The minimal specification excluded exterior door handles and boot lid. Some 49,000 Frogeyes were built between 1958 and 1961. In summary: A four-owner example, benefiting from a total body rebuild and upgraded 1098cc engine Offered with a large history file and Heritage Certificate

Lot 4

Registration – HUU 987K Chassis No. – AA.SAS.751026A M.O.T. – Exempt Odometer – 36,703 The Austin 1100/1300, and its multi-brand BMC sister cars, was once the best-selling car in Britain. Yet these days, merely hundreds still remain, with ‘HUU 987K’ ranking amongst them, making this a comparatively rare survivor. Offered at No Reserve, this 1971 Austin 1300 displays a surprisingly low-mileage of 36,703, which service and MOT records would appear to support as credible. A Motor Check report shows no discrepancies for the car, which was registered on 1 November 1971. It has had just six previous keepers, with the current owner purchasing it in August 2022. Finished in distinctive Black Tulip – recorded as purple on documentation – it has a striking red contrast interior. The car is largely in original factory condition, but has benefited from some gentle modifications, including electronic ignition, alternator conversion and the installation of inertia reel seatbelts. Paintwork and interior are described by the vendor as being in ‘good’ condition, while the 1275cc A-Series engine is rated ‘excellent’. ‘HUU 987K’ comes complete with a history folder including a Haynes BLMC 1100 & 1300 owner’s workshop manual. This 1971 Austin 1300 is from the ninth year of 1100/1300 production. The British brand was starting to turn attention to its replacement, the controversial Austin Allegro, which appeared in 1973. However, the Allegro never matched the success of its predecessor, which was launched in 1962 as a larger alternative to the fabulous Mini. Created by the same designer, Sir Alec Issigonis, the car was codenamed ADO16 and boasted similarly ingenious technical innovations such as a transverse engine and Hydrolastic suspension. The characterful bodywork was designed by Pininfarina and the car proved enormously popular. In its peak years, it accounted for 15% of all new cars sold, a figure that today’s car manufacturers can only dream of. More than 2.1 million were sold before production of this beloved British saloon ended in 1974. In summary: · A seven-owner car with records indicating a low mileage · Offered at No Reserve · 1275cc engine described as being in ‘excellent’ condition .

Lot 39

Registration – WGA 546V Chassis No. – GAN6-220407G M.O.T. – Exempt Odometer – 8,900 This striking example of MG’s Midget is presented in stunning vermillion red with black leather interior, in keeping with the vehicle’s time period. This compact convertible is fitted with MG’s 1.5-litre straight-four engine and four-speed manual gearbox; helping create a classic British roadster – in this case, a late example of the Midget. Described by the vendor as ‘excellent’ throughout, covering the powertrain, electrics, bodywork, and two-seat interior. Offered with a very creditable 8,900 miles on the odometer, ‘WGA 546V’ offers a chance to own a classic sportscar with no need for work. In summary: · Stunning example of a classic British roadster. · This MG Midget 1500 comes with just 8,900 miles on the clock · Striking colour scheme and immaculate interior

Lot 77

Registration - 15BF69 Chassis No. - WNI11569 M.O.T. - Exempt Odometer - 29,432 This characterful and highly-original Champ first rolled off the Austin Longbridge production line in 1956, before being accepted by the Army’s receiving depot at Church Broughton and issued with Army registration ‘15BF69’, entering service on 8th March 1956. The Austin Champ is presented in original military livery, with green bodywork, seat frames, and hood struts, as well as exterior-mounted spade and pick-axe. A ‘FFW’ (Fitted For Wireless) Champ, the Austin was specified by the Army to be fitted with a two-speed generator and extra wiring, to enable the mounting of a radio set. Struck off the Army census in 1967, it has been dry-stored for many years by the vendor, and this barn-find is also offered with both a trailer, and a new-old stock crate Rolls-Royce B40 engine. Bearing chassis-number WN1-11569, the Champ currently shows 29,432 miles on the odometer, and has not been registered for use outside of military service before. The vendor presently classes the bodywork and running gear as ‘below average’, though the crate engine as ‘excellent’. What will surely be a very rewarding project, this Austin Champ offers the perfect chance to obtain an alternative to the more common Jeeps and Land Rovers as a ‘go-anywhere’ military classic. Inspired by the ubiquitous American Jeep, the Champ was a British military vehicle designed immediately post WWII and manufactured from 1951 to 1956, at which point it was supplanted by the cheaper Land Rover. The lightweight 4x4 was powered by an Austin-built Rolls-Royce-designed four-cylinder petrol engine of 2838cc. Ultimately only 11,732 of the contracted 15,000 Champs were produced, all of which had been moved from front line army service to the territorial Army by the mid ‘60s, and were then sold into the private domain from 1968. Though their service life was curtailed by cost, they boasted impressive cross-country capabilities and could even touch 50mph in reverse – something neither the Jeep nor Land Rover could match. In summary: An ideal project, the Champ hasn’t been registered since leaving the Army books in 1967 Comes with a trailer, and new-old crate Rolls-Royce B40 engine Currently displaying a total mileage of 29,432
