2006 Range Rover Supercharged V8. This Generation 2 L322 V8 Supercharged was collected by ourselves and driven over 70 miles back to our secure storage facility by Marcus, a serial Range Rover driver himself, who tells me that the car drove without fault with all electrical gadgets working and no warning lights flashing! Not a vehicle we would normally class as a classic, it is however a real wolf in sheep’s clothing. Visually similar to lesser models, these supercharged variants are powered by what is basically a Jaguar’s XKR engine and is capable of speeds in excess of 140mph (where permitted). Very high specification including full black leather piped cream complimented by piano wood cappings, Harmon Kardon stereo system and DVD players built into the headrests. Unmodified and, apparently, in excellent order throughout. Even the dash mounted torch is in place. Details of service history to follow.

Property of the Hon. Nicholas Napier Williams, Edwin (1782-1855) Portrait of Lieutenant General Sir Charles James Napier with his favourite Arab charger Red Rover 1853 Signed and dated lower left 'Edwin Williams 1853' Oil on canvas The eldest of four famous brothers in whom the Duke of Wellington took a great interest, Charles Napier had an exemplary military career. He is best known as the Conqueror of Sind in 1843, for which he was made a GCB. He is also remembered as a gifted administrator for his work as Resident for Cephaloniá. The marble statue of him in St Paul's Cathedral bears the inscription, 'A prescient general, a beneficent governor, a just man'. The fact that the majority of the subscribers to the statue of him in the south-west corner of Trafalgar Square were private soldiers is also testimony of his popularity in the Army. Towards the end he desired that his charger, Red Rover, should be brought to his bedside, that he might caress him once more: but the horse was frightened and would not approach; so, with a sigh of disappointment, Napier turned round and begged his wife to take care of its comfort. Dimensions: 36 in. (H) x 25 in. (W)

1972 Rover P6 2000 TC Transmission: manualMileage:53187The P6 was the sixth and the last of the 'P' designated Rover designs to reach production. The vehicle was marketed first as the Rover 2000 and with a completely new design, was intended to appeal to a larger number of buyers; the P5 was sold alongside the P6 until 1973. The 2000 was advanced for the time with a De Dion tube suspension at the rear, four-wheel disc brakes (inboard on the rear), and a full synchromesh gearbox. The unibody design featured non-stressed panels bolted to a unit frame, similar to the Citroën DS. The Rover 2000 won industry awards for safety when it was introduced. The car featured all-round seat belts and a carefully designed 'safety' interior. One innovative feature was the prism of glass on the top of the front side lights, this allowed the driver to see the front corner of the car in low light conditions. The Rover P6 series was voted European Car of the Year in 1964; the very first winner of this title. Rover made an attempt to break into the North American market with the P6 beginning with the Rover 2000 TC.This delightful Rover 2000 was supplied originally in July 1972. Finished in Brown with grey trim and is described as being 'as good as she looks' to drive. A desirable manual, Twin Carb example showing 53,187 which is privately owned and entered. Supplied with a V5 registration document, a current MoT test certificate valid until May 2023 and is offered without reserve.Guide price £6,000 - £9,000

Lot 109

1959 Rover P4 90 Transmission: manualMileage:22310Manufactured from 1949 through to 1964, the Rover P4 series of cars were produced in several different models; the Rover 60, 75, 80, 90, 95, 100, 105 and 110. Apart from the 60 and 80, the models all had inline six-cylinder engines with overhead inlet valves and side exhaust valves. Various transmissions were used including either a manual overdrive box or, until 1959, the option of the manual gearbox with a free wheel unit. The bodies were mounted on a separate chassis with independent suspension by coil springs at the front and semi-elliptical leaf springs at the rear. By 1950 the brakes were fully hydraulic with discs at the front being standard from 1959.It is a pleasure to offer this rare low mileage, unrestored Rover P4 90. A former €˜Drivers Guild' members vehicle, lovingly garage stored and is presented in very good mechanical order. Featured in Classic car weekly April 1999, this 2.6 litre straight-six P4 retains its factory interior, headlining, door cards, carpets and complete toolkit. We are informed the car is structurally solid without rust or any problematic aluminium corrosion. This rare, unrestored, garage kept example is in condition that is certainly commensurate with such low mileage and goes a long way in confirming the odometer reading of just 22,310 miles. Numerous invoices from John Wearing and RPS P4 parts specialist amongst others in its history file including most recently the SU carb overhaul, service, and MoT test certificate.Guide price £6,000 - £9,000

Lot 120

2007 Range Rover HSE TDV8 Transmission: automaticMileage:83500Having steadily increased in popularity since its beginnings in the late 1980s, the SUV really came of age in the 2000s. With around 20 years of development behind it, it had become something not only large and capacious but also fast and luxurious, and the Range Rover had come to represent the very best in the field, so much so that €˜Range Rover' and €˜SUV' are now almost synonymous. The third-generation Range Rover had been in production since 2001, and although it was a luxury model in its own right equipped with a powerful BMW V8, Land Rover decided it could be better yet. Enter the Sport. Hitting the roads in 2005, the more aggressive-looking Range Rover Sport was actually adapted from the Discovery 3's semi-monocoque chassis, but in terms of performance and refinement it was a true Range Rover. Various V8 engines to meet different needs were installed in the Sport, with an automatic gearbox as standard. Available from 2007, the TDV8 designation denoted the 3.6 litre twin turbodiesel V8, which produced 268bhp and would push the car to 130mph, with a 0-62mph time of 8.6s. It was available in HSE trim level only. This very tidy example of this practical and powerful SUV is presented in black with black leather interior. It comes with satellite navigation, heated electric memory seats, electric folding mirrors, adaptive cruise control and a Harman Kardon sound system. Although able to be used as a tow vehicle, this actual 4x4 has never had a tow bar fitted which means that no stress has been placed on its V8 engine. It has had 12 stamps in the service book with its last service being carried out at 78,000. These are great €˜work horses' or tourers but either way, this cars' powerful TDV8 engine provides terrific performance and it is being sold without reserve, what an opportunity!

Lot 157

1973 MG B GT V8 Transmission: manualMileage:11409The MGB was first introduced in May 1962 as a direct replacement for the MGA. Performance was brisk with power supplied by a 1798cc four-cylinder iron block engine set within a monocoque lightweight bodyshell with crumple zones incorporated. October 1965 saw the introduction of the GT which was based on the already popular roadster. Designed by Pinninfarina, the new GT sported a hatchback giving useful access to the rear luggage space and a rear bench seat that enabled the car to be called a 2+2. Although acceleration was slightly slower than the roadster, top speed was better by 5mph due to the increased aerodynamic efficiency. Ken Costello saw the possibility of fitting the larger aluminium 3528cc Rover P5B engine into the MG B GT having been sure that the handling and braking could be made to match the much improved performance; not that it needed significant changes as the V8 weighed in at around 40 pounds lighter than the four-cylinder iron blocked engine it replaced. Space was not a problem as the car had originally been designed for fitment of a V4 that was never produced. It was not until two years after the first Costello car that MG decided to follow suit. It was 1973 and the fuel crisis loomed; with British Leyland not wanting competition for the V8 engined Triumph Stag, prices of the MGB GT V8 were set high. Production ceased in 1976 with 2,591 units having been produced. Presented in black coachwork with black trim this genuine factory built MGB GT V8 has been in the current ownership since 2016 and has spent the last six years in the dry climate of the south of France with its British owner. Recently driven back from its extended holiday this example has returned to UK plates and presents well. Originally supplied with optional overdrive by Wadhams Ltd in Wiltshire in September 1973, repainted in black in 1999 as part of a full body restoration. Accompanying the car is a large history file, much of which was accumulated by Mr Turnbull who owned the car between 1993 and 2016. Included are details of a full engine rebuild with a blueprinted Rovercraft engine by Brown and Gammon Ltd (heritage specialists), countless MoT certificates and invoices, a Heritage certificate, V8 handbooks and a catalogue of photos of the car through previous ownership. V8 prices have been on the rise and it's hard not to see why; big engine with a little British sports car, like Sunbeam Tigers these cars are a riot to drive and incredible value.Interested parties should note that this vehicle is not currently sold with a V5 registration document. However, one has been applied for by the vendor with the DVLA and should arrive in due course.

Lot 168

2009 Jaguar X-Type Estate Ex-HM Queen Elizabeth II Transmission: automaticMileage:72544The Jaguar X-Type is a front-engine, all-wheel/front-wheel drive compact executive car manufactured and marketed from 2001 to 2009. In addition to offering Jaguar's first estate in series production, the X-Type would ultimately introduce its first diesel engine, four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive configuration. The X-Type was developed during the period when Jaguar was owned by Ford as a division of its Premier Automotive Group (PAG) (1999-2009) and marked Jaguar's entry into the critical compact executive segment. The estate was the first Jaguar model designed by Ian Callum. From its saloon counterpart, the design revised 420 tooled parts and 58 stampings for all components rearward of the windscreen, adding 150 pounds. This fantastic piece of Royal history is presented in Emerald Fire with Barley leather interior and the first owner was HM Queen Elizabeth II. This is confirmed by its original booklet stating its registration as PYN IF which can also be seen in photos with HM the Queen at the wheel. It comes with a sunroof, automatic transmission, electric windows, climate control, a good service history, Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate and has been well maintained. The Royal Family might have a long history with Bentley state limousines, but they love Jaguars as well. Although the late Queen Elizabeth II was seen behind the wheel of several cars during her long reign, her favourite seems to be the Land Rover Defender. She had a particular liking for this model, but when that was unavailable, she had a back-up car, a Jaguar X-Type Estate. In the pictures available on the internet, you can see HM Queen Elizabeth II driving this very car with Her Majesty wearing sunglasses and a headscarf which was so typical. She looked happy and healthy, leaving Windsor Castle behind her and at the wheel of the Jaguar, driving up the Long Walk. From 2004 to 2009, the X-Type Estate wasn't among the most desirable models the brand ever built but who would have thought this would be one of Queen Elizabeth II's go-to vehicles? It came with two fuel options and the biggest engine, though, was petrol. It was a 3.0 litre V6 engine, which was the option Queen Elizabeth II had for this particular car. This surely is a car for the serious collector or Royalist and with a provenance which is impossible to match, this is unique! Please note that the private registration that you may have seen online or viewed in any publications is not being sold with the car.Photos of the Queen credited to Jim Bennett

Lot 252

2006 Land Rover Defender 90 TD5 Transmission: manualMileage:79100The Land Rover Defender was developed in the 1980s from the original Land Rover series that was launched at the Amsterdam Motor Show in April 1948. This four-wheel drive vehicle was the British equivalent of the American Willys Jeep. Built using a steel ladder chassis and aluminium bodywork the Defender gained a worldwide reputation for ruggedness and versatility. The L316 Defender 90 model was manufactured between 2002 until 2007. The Td5 was fitted with a turbocharged, inline five-cylinder, diesel engine producing 120bhp at 4,200 rpm with the power transmitted to the road by a €˜all-wheel drive' system with a five-speed gearbox. The chassis details responsible for road holding and handling include a rigid axle, coil springs, anti-roll bar front suspension and De Dion axle. Coil springs, anti-roll bar rear suspension. The Td5 braking system includes vented discs at the front and solid brake discs to the rear. This excellent, two owners from new example, is one of the last Land Rover Defender 90 Td5 supplied new in 2006. Purchased by the current owner in 2010 it has been fully maintained and serviced, very year, by a Land Rover main dealer until 2020 when it had a major service by a Land Rover specialists less than 2500 miles ago. In 2018 the tyres were replaced and still appear like new. When he purchased the Td5 a slight crack was discovered in the engine block, a new unstamped, engine was supplied and fitted by Land Rover under warranty, since the new engine was fitted it has done 26,000 miles. This 90 Td5 hardtop is finished in green with a white roof and has recently been retrimmed in county tweed. It is fitted with a Thatcham Alarm system and is supplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in August 2023, the complete handbook pack which contains the service book and continuation service book and a large file with old MoT's, invoices and other documents. This Land Rover is in new, showroom condition and it would be difficult to find one so well maintained and serviced.

Lot 267

1987 MG Metro Transmission: manualMileage:69540The Metro is a supermini car, later, a city car that was produced by British Leyland and later, the Rover Group from 1980 to 1998. It was launched in 1980 as the Austin Mini Metro. It was intended to complement and eventually replace the Mini and was developed under the codename LC8. The Metro was named by What Car magazine as €˜Car of The Year' 1983 as an MG, and again as the Rover Metro in 1991. During its 18-year lifespan the Metro wore many names; Austin Metro, MG Metro and Rover Metro. It was rebadged as the Rover 100 series in December 1994.This enthusiast owned MG Metro was registered in March 1987 and presents well in white with a contrasting grey interior and is fitted with a Turbo body kit. The car has been extremely well cared for, rarely used and always garaged during the vendor's tenure. Recent documented expenditure has totalled nearly £3,000. The file for this 80's classic contains an earlier photographic restoration, various bills/receipts, lots of previous MoT test certificates and an original owner's handbook. Presented for auction with a V5 registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until May 2023, this iconic car is offered without reserve.
