Lot 2

A 1963 Land Rover Series IIA LWB station wagon, registration number 9188 KF, green. Introduced in 1961 the Series II & IIA are considered by many Land Rover enthusiasts as the hardiest of the breed. This rare station wagon was acquired by the vendor in 2013 with the intention of restoring it to its former glory. Unfortunately due to other commitments this has not been possible. The previous custodian owned the car for 26 years and from DVLA records it can be seen that the last MOT expired in November 2006. This diesel engined station wagon now requires full restoration, but would appear complete and a very worthwhile project for the next owner. V5C, MOT and tax exempt See illustration

Lot 29

A brief outline of the specification is as follows: the gearbox is a VT77 Rover SD1 V8 (short gear shift); the differential is a Quaife limited slip; the brakes are Ford Sierra Cosworth; the steering is Ford Escort Mk IV rack and pinion; and the steering column is Ford Sierra. Performance upgrades include Magnecor MG RV8 8mm spark plug leads, NGK BP6ES spark plugs, a Bosch 12V V8 coil, an ignition amplifier, a Tornado ECU chip, a Hotwire power boost valve, and ACT carbon fibre trumpets. These vehicles are extremely rapid and offer super car performance at a fraction of the cost of an equivalent Ferrari, Lamborghini or Aston Martin. V5C, ***MOT to April 2017 (not March)***

Lot 45

A 1956 Land Rover Series I 86 inch Basic, registration number UPX 645, green. This home market Land Rover Series I 86 inch was built on the 30th January 1956 and was subsequently despatched to the supplying dealer Rice Brothers Ltd, Horsham, West Sussex on 22nd March. UPX 645 a petrol engined example was purchased by the vendor in 2007 as a restoration project. Since then it has been the subject of a full nut and bolt restoration with all components either renewed or rebuilt as necessary. The Land Rover comes to auction with a Heritage certificate. The Land Rover is now being offered for sale so the vendor can concentrate on his next project, an early 1949 example. V5C, MOT and tax exempt See illustrations

Lot 56

A rare 1957 Land Rover Series I 107 inch station wagon, registration number YFO 361, chassis number 131-8-00025, blue. The 107 inch Series I became available towards the end of the Series I production and as such are extremely rare, with the station wagon being the rarest of them all. They were capable of transporting up to 10 people and were designed to carry workman or shooting parties on sporting estates. This particular example is really one for the collector as it has been the subject of a body off restoration to an extremely high standard. The vendor advises us that work has included a new chassis, rebuilt suspension, engine, interior, rewire, body, respray, powder coated wheels and new tyres, rubber seals and numerous other items associated with a thorough restoration. The history file contains a BMID certificate stating that the Land Rover had a build date of 30th October 1957 and was despatched on the 1st November 1957 to Rossleigh Limited, Edinburgh, Scotland (the supplying dealer). The Land Rover is now only for sale due the vendor needing the space so he can concentrate on his next restoration project a 1949 Land Rover Series I. V5C, MOT and tax exempt See illustrations

Lot 69

That the recently departed Defender is an immediately recognisable descendent of the Land Rover launched at the 1948 Amsterdam Motor Show, is huge testimony to Maurice Wilks' original design. By the time of the 1969-1971 Series IIA, the model was the workhorse of the world and accounted for around 90% of the 4x4 sector in Australia, Africa and the Middle East. This 109in five-door Safari is a remarkable 1983 Series III example that has driven a mere 60,000 miles from new in the hands of just two owners. Delightfully original, it has never been restored and retains its original 12-seater interior. The Landie's accompanying maintenance file confirms it's always been well cared for, though little used in the last eight years. The vendor presently classes the bodywork, Blue paintwork, Black vinyl interior trim, 2.25-litre petrol engine and manual transmission as all being in 'very good' order. 'UAK 201Y' is MOT'd into April 2017.

Lot 21

The Range Rover re-defined the 4x4 market when it was born into an unsuspecting world in 1970. Unmolested versions of what have retrospectively been dubbed the Range Rover Classic are now much prized, so one can expect this highly original one that apparently boasts just one owner from new to cause quite a stir. It is a left-hand drive three-door French example that's only recently been repatriated and comes complete with its original carte grise. Its indicated mileage of under 50,000kms is believed by the vendor to be correct, and he currently grades the V8 engine and Tan-coloured cloth interior trim as 'very good', the manual transmission as 'good', the bodywork and electrical equipment as 'average' and the Yellow paintwork as now being in rather 'poor' condition. The Range Rover Classic was produced from 1970 to 1996, at which point it was supplanted by the more contemporary-looking but mechanically similar P38A.

Lot 8

JRN 239S' hails from July 1978 and started life as a standard 1800cc rubber-bumpered Roadster. However, during the vendors 20-year ownership, extensive restoration and conversion have seen it transformed into an MG of very different character. Sporting the strident combination of Vermillion (Orange) bodywork contrasted with Black interior trim, the four-cylinder engine and four-speed gearbox have been ousted in favour of a 3.5-litre Rover V8 unit driving through a five-speed transmission. The brakes and suspension (that now includes an anti-roll bar) have been uprated to suit, and the bodywork converted to chrome bumper specification before being treated to a bare metal respray in the current colour. The vendor variously classes the paintwork as 'excellent', the bodywork as 'very good', the engine and transmission as 'good', and the interior trim as 'average', and is offering the Roadster complete with electronic ignition, tonneau cover and wind deflector. The car MG never made.

Lot 14

Powered by a Rover 3.5-litre V8 mated to a 5-speed Rover LT77 SDI V8 short shift gearbox, it produces some 220bhp and is accompanied by a dyno test sheet dated March 2016. The car's specification includes a Quaife LSD, Sierra Cosworth brakes and extenders and Ford Escort Mk4 rack and pinion steering. Performance upgrades include: Magnecor MG RV8 8mm plug leads, NGK BP6ES spark plugs, Bosch 12V V8 coil, ignition amplifier, Tornado ECU chip, Hotwire power boost valve and ACT carbon fibre trumpets. Described by the vendor as being in "good" condition as regards its bodywork, paint, engine, transmission, electrics and interior trim, it is accompanied by a Swansea V5 document, documents relating to its build and current MoT to April 2017.
