1994 Rover Mini Sprite 1275ccReg. no. WDE 877Chassis no. SAXXNYADBBD087311Engine no. 12A2BG03289211By the dawn of the 1990s, the Mini was over 30 years old, and had carved out something of a niche in Rover’s production, as both a ‘living classic’ and low-cost transport. While attempts had been made to replace it – the Metro, for example – buyers still appreciated the Mini’s character and low running costs, and Rover cleverly exploited the model’s iconic image by producing an array of special limited-edition versions. That’s not to say that a more basic Mini didn’t still hold appeal – far from it, and indeed in the mid-90s the base model – previously the City, now the Sprite, a name evoking images of the famous MG sports cars – continued to sell well, especially now that all cars came with the more powerful 1275cc engine. This 1994 Mini Sprite was purchased new by the Pughs - £6143.43 in 1994. Fitted with an optional radio and treated with ‘Supaguard’ by the supplying dealer, it has remained in the family ever since, with a healthy history file consisting of MOTs, bills for general servicing and maintenance, plus of course the original sales invoice and accompanying paperwork. Last MOT’d in 2015, this one-owner Mini will require some recommissioning before returning to the road. Showing just 18,221 miles at the last MOT, this is an unusually low-mileage example of a quintessential British classic. There is a V5C in the file.

2011 Land Rover 110 XS Defender Transmission: manualMileage:The Land Rover Defender was launched in 1948 and, incredibly, production only finished in January 2016 after a continuous run of 67 years. Outwardly, there is little to distinguish the post-1983 vehicles from the Series III Land Rover. A full-length bonnet, revised grille, plus the fitting of wheel arch extensions to cover wider-track axles are the most noticeable changes. Internally, coil springs offered a more comfortable ride and a permanent four-wheel drive system derived from the Range Rover featuring a two-speed transfer gearbox with a lockable centre differential. A modernised interior and a new series of progressively more powerful and modern engine characterised things under the skin. In August 2011, Land Rover announced an update of the Defender for the 2012 model year. By this time, Land Rover publicly acknowledged that it was working on a project to produce an all-new replacement for the Defender. Then in line for the 2012 models was the installation of a different engine Ford decided, due to cost reasons, not to modify the engine introduced in 2007 and so the engine was replaced with the ZSD-422 engine, essentially a 2.2-litre variant of the same engine. This fabulous 110 Defender was originally registered on 24th March 2011. It has just had some £36,000 spent on it turning the vehicle into a brute to drive. The engine has been replaced with a brand new 5.3 litre Corvette unit. This is mated to short-shift gearbox, the performance of this Defender is breathtaking and must be driven to be fully appreciated. Finished in metallic red with black part leather interior and featuring creature comforts like air conditioning and heated seats, additional equipment includes sidesteps and LED lights. It is easily apparent the vendor has left no stone unturned in creating this unique Land Rover. A mere 800 miles has been covered since the work was completed. A significant history folder accompanies this 110 Defender XS, including a V5C registration document and receipts for the work carried out, as an added bonus the car is ULEZ compliant. Inspection is recommended to fully appreciate the extent and quality of the work carried out.

Lot 160

2005 Land Rover 90 County TD5 Transmission: manualMileage:48250The Land Rover Defender was developed in the 1980s from the original Land Rover series that was launched at the Amsterdam Motor Show in April 1948. This four-wheel drive vehicle was the British equivalent of the American Willys Jeep. Built using a steel ladder chassis and aluminium bodywork the Defender gained a worldwide reputation for ruggedness and versatility. This 2005 Land Rover SWB 90 with the 2.5 litre diesel engine is presented in black with matching wheels sitting on nearly new Cooper tyres, new Corbeau seats to the front and the rear seats changed for standard Bearmach seats creating a six-seat configuration. The owner has upgraded the exterior of this example to include side steps, a new front bumper, upgraded wheels with spacers, Bearmach LED Lights fitted all round, wheel arch covers, MOMO steering, new wing mirrors, handbrake lever, new mudflaps, rear step and rear windows tinted, and towbar. To the cabin with the new seats, we also find a modern Pioneer Stereo with Apple Car Play capabilities; it displays a reversing camera when engaged, has upgraded speakers and an adjustable base box subtly behind the centre armrest. The centre armrest box with Union Jack is a new addition, which is also lockable. The underside has been cleaned and dried, underseal treatment carried out and rear trailing arm bushes replaced with poly-bushes. Showing a remarkable 48,250 miles from new the servicing schedule has been 2008, 2015, 2021 (April), and then again in May 2021 when the car was serviced and all upgrades fitted. Due to the popularity security hinges, made by Optimill, have been fitted to the front doors and bonnet. A hidden button has been fitted and the ignition will not turn unless this button has been pressed whilst turning the key. This is coupled with a factory fitted alarm with the fob unlocking all doors. MoT'd until January 2023 we are informed it starts perfectly every time, cruises comfortably at 60mph and has importantly not been de-restricted or chipped for extra horsepower. The engine is standard so the new owner can benefit from an unmolested 2495 TD5 engine.

Lot 137

1984 Land Rover Series III Transmission: manualMileage:109140Land Rovers were inspired by the US-built Willys Jeep immediately after the war and by 1992, Land Rover claimed that 70% of all the vehicles they had ever built were still in use. Before the war, Rover had produced luxury cars which ceased to be in demand in the immediate post-war period and raw materials were strictly rationed to those companies building construction or industrial equipment. Rover's original factory in Coventry had also been bombed, forcing the company to move into a huge factory it had built in Solihull to construct aircraft. The Series III is the most common vehicle, with 440,000 of the type built from 1971 to 1985. The headlights were moved to the wings and the traditional metal grille featured on its predecessor, was replaced with a plastic one. The production run for the Series III was from 1971 through to 1985 and during this cycle (1976) the 1,000,000th Land Rover rolled off the production line. The Series III saw many changes in the later part of its life as Land Rover updated the design to meet increased competition. This pleasant example of a British automotive classic has been recently owned and cherished by an enthusiast, ex-Land Rover employee. The practicality of these four-wheel drives from Solihull has never been in doubt and this model is no exception having spent its recent years working on a farm in Devon. Benefitting from a towbar and a new floor to the rear cabin as well as Land Rovers legendary four-wheel drive capability, this split-screen Series III petrol version looks well in blue with a contrasting white roof and bonnet mounted spare wheel, and has just passed an MoT test. Presented to auction with a V5C registration document and offered without reserve this Land Rover certainly deserves further consideration.

Lot 219

2006 Range Rover 4.2 litre Supercharged Vogue SE Transmission: manualMileage:96167The now ubiquitous Range Rover, launched in 1970, is in its fourth generation. The third-generation Range Rover (L322) was designed to accommodate BMW's M62, V8 engine; the manual transmission was dropped entirely leaving only the automatic transmission. The entertainment system, radio function, navigation, television and telecommunications, as well as the automotive computer bus system, was identical to the BMW 5-Series and could also be upgraded with the newest BMW technologies. This highly desirable example is presented in metallic grey with black leather interior and comes with an electric sunroof, electric heated memory front seats, cruise control, satellite navigation system, rear entertainment system (TV screens in rear of front headrests), heated rear seats and detachable tow bar (unused). This popular SUV comes with part service history with a stamped book and some recent invoices. It is powered by the powerful 4.2 litre Supercharged V8 which gives it superb performance and is, importantly, ULEZ exempt!

Lot 139

1973 Rover P5B Transmission: automaticMileage:61409The Rover P5 series was produced from 1958 until 1973. Models were marketed under the names Rover 3 litre and Rover 3½ litre. The final iteration of the P5 appeared in September 1967. Now powered by the 3528cc Rover V8 engine also used in the P6 3500, the car was badged as the '3.5 Litre', and commonly known as the 3½ litre. The final letter in the 'P5B' model name came from Buick, the engine's originator. The Borg Warner Type-35 automatic transmission and hydrosteer variable ratio power steering were now standard. Output of 160bhp was claimed along with improved torque. When compared to its predecessor, the aluminium engine enabled the car to offer improved performance and fuel economy resulting both from the greater power and the lesser weight of the power unit. The exterior was mostly unchanged, apart from bold '3.5 Litre' badging, a pair of fog lights which were added below the head lights, creating a striking four light array and the fitting of chrome Rostyle wheels with black painted inserts.Originally registered on the 11th January 1973 this Rover is in very good order throughout. The dark blue paintwork is in good order showing no signs of corrosion and the ample chromework is in delightful condition. The spacious brown leather interior is in comparable condition to the rest of the car. This Rover Coupe is supplied with a V5C registration document and some invoices for work carried out. The silent comfortable ride meant this was a very popular mode of transport for government ministers and the Royal family.

Lot 120

1985 Land Rover 90 County Station Wagon Transmission: manualMileage:76200The Land Rover Defender was developed in the 1980's from the original Land Rover series that was launched at the Amsterdam Motor Show in April 1948. This four-wheel drive vehicle was the British equivalent of the American Willys Jeep. Built using a steel ladder chassis and aluminium bodywork the Defender gained a worldwide reputation for ruggedness and versatility. The car on offer today is a genuine four-cylinder, petrol County Station Wagon with power steering in Trident Green. The seats are arranged with three forward facing and four inward facing in the rear. The rear seats fold away to allow for increased load space; this seat configuration is becoming rarer to find and offers fantastic practicality. All interior trim and carpets are present and in near perfect condition including the early type headlining in superb complete condition. The car comes with factory genuine rubber mats and new front footwell carpets. Most of the paintwork is original however some paintwork has been done recently on the front wings and bonnet due to a previous poor paint repair. The car has been meticulously maintained over the years using genuine parts where possible. Some of the recent parts replaced include a new Weber carburettor, a fuel tank, shock absorbers, front door cards, front and rear mudflaps, headlamps and lamp lenses, fuel pump and an electronic distributor. This car has been extensively protected against corrosion including all welded seams on the bulkhead and the inside of the door frames; the vendor describes the car as very well preserved and driving perfectly. There is no serious corrosion and the bulkhead footwells, together with the chassis are in original condition. The wheels have been repainted and fitted with new General Grabber 7. 50x16 tyres. The car featured as the main front page article in Classic Land Rover magazine in May 2021. The car will be serviced and supplied with a full MoT test certificate valid from May 2022. It also comes with previous MoT test certificates, various receipts, the original sales brochures, and a copy of the Classic Land Rover magazine in which it featured. This is a rare opportunity to acquire an early County version of the iconic Land Rover 90 in original and well-kept condition.

Lot 286

The seats are arranged with two forward facing and four inward facing in the rear. The rear seats fold away to allow for increased load space, this seat configuration is becoming rarer to find and offers fantastic practicality. Lot 264

1933 Rover 12 Special Transmission: manualMileage:46407Starting its life as an unassuming Rover 12 saloon this Special was once owned by Tory agent Mr Wood who in 1984 collided with another car on the A38 while over twice the drink driving limit! Needless to say, the car needed repairs and thus the life of a Rover Special began, all corroborated by an article in the Cornish Times found in the history file. Indeed, after the crash the car remained laid up for four years until Mr Wood decided to use the car as a van, but as years went by, he eventually sold the car in 2000 to the then owner who had the express intent to create the Special for hill climbs and rallies. Our owner purchased the car last year, at this stage the car was in good shape but needed recommissioning and fettling which, being a keen enthusiast, he duly completed with invoices and receipts in the history file to show. However, despite loving the looks of the car, being used to perhaps more exotic vehicles and the like he decided to concentrate his time on other projects. Presented in blue coachwork with contrasting red trim the first thoughts of this little Rover Special are of how pretty the duck tail body is, the history plots the restoration process and clearly indicates this was completed to a good standard. The history file that accompanies the car includes invoices, three photo albums of the rebuild, history relating to the original car including buff logbook, and a current UK V5 registration document. The 1465cc engine is showing good compression, the car starts on the button and would be an ideal partner for a foray into vintage/classic rallies, indeed has been accepted for VSCC eligibility. With some light fettling we are sure it would be competitive and huge amounts of fun, indeed this plucky yet gorgeous little Rover will tug on many a heartstring and promises to provide the new enthusiast with many miles of enjoyment.

2002 Range Rover Vogue (4.6 litre) Transmission: automaticMileage:149751Twenty-five years after the introduction of the original Range Rover, the second-generation (model-designation P38A) was introduced for the 1995 model year, it was based on the 8" longer chassis of the old long wheelbase model, and with an updated version of the Rover V8 4.6 litre engine. There was also the option of a 2.5 litre BMW six-cylinder turbodiesel with a Bosch injection pump. This was the first diesel injection with electronic controls in a Land Rover, before common rails were introduced. This was a result of BMW's subsequent ownership of the Rover Group and hence the Land Rover brand. The new model offered more equipment and premium trims, positioning the vehicle more strongly above the Land Rover Discovery than the old original, to meet the increased competition in the SUV marketplace. This model was the last to feature the Rover V8 engine and interior leather supplied by Connolly, who went out of business in 2002. It was the first model to feature Satellite Navigation as an option.Originally registered on 1st March 2002 this Range Rover has been owned by the same driver from new. Finished in the delightful colour combination of Oslo Blue with cream leather interior, the seats are piped in blue. The original book pack is present with this Range Rover and she comes with a comprehensive service history, together with a collection of invoices. These P38 Range Rovers have become well known for their durability and reliability. Earlier examples could be a little problematic, however this 2002 model was manufactured some eight years after the P38's introduction, with most, if not all of the problems ironed out by then. Supplied with a V5C registration number, together with an MoT test Certificate valid until 24th February 2023, this is an opportunity to purchase one of the last Range Rover's fitted with the Rover V8 engine.

1951 Land Rover Series I 80' Transmission: manualMileage:49300In the aftermath of the Second World War, Rover's chief engineer Maurice Wilks used a 'demobbed' Willys Jeep around his farm in Anglesey and was impressed with its abilities. Eventually, it wore out and he was keen to replace it with a British vehicle. However, nothing remotely similar was available. Coincidentally, his brother Spencer, who was Managing Director at Rover, had reached the same conclusion as he struggled to get his Rover 10 to reach the more inaccessible parts of his estate on Islay. This is where `The Best 4x4 by Far' started - a utility vehicle devised in 1947, they would have no idea that Maurice's resulting design would become an icon and launch a whole new industry sector. The vehicle appeared as the 'Land Rover' in 1948 and proved so popular with the military and the farming fraternity that demand massively outstripped supply.Produced in 1951 and originally issued to the Armed Forces in 1952, this Land Rover was released to private hands in 1960 and first registered in 1963. All of which is documented in a detailed summary of its history, accompanied by a full photo album of its restoration which took place in 2007. The restoration, described as extensive and expansive, was carried out by The County Workshops - a father and son run Land Rover specialist. Since the restoration the car has weathered and developed a fabulous Land Rover patina while still retaining new seat pads. The file for this Land Rover contains a V5C registration document and bills and receipts, coupled with an MoT test certificate until February 2023. In classic Land Rover Green with an authentic patina, the canvas covers are also in good order. This Land Rover Series I is a fine example and given the values achieved by recent sales of similar models, appears to be extremely well estimated.

2006 MG ZT V8 260 Transmission: manualMileage:47552In 2001, three years after the launch of the Rover 75, and less than a year after the demerger of MG Rover from BMW, the MG ZT and MG ZT-T were launched. During the cars' development, the models were codenamed X10 and X11, for the saloon and estate versions, respectively. The basic shape and styling of the MG ZT remained the same as for the Rover 75 but with changes to the front bumper, now with an integrated grille, and detail alterations including colour coding of the chromed waistline, a new boot lid plinth, and different alloy wheels and tyres sizes. During the first few months of 2004, MG Rover facelifted the design of the ZT and ZT-T to a less retro look, at the same time as the Rover 75 received a facelift. This didn't feature much in the way of mechanical differences to the ZT, most changes were merely aesthetic. The main changes to the car included the replacement of the twin headlamps, with a new, clear single headlamp unit. Between 2003 and 2006 the top of the ZT range, and the rarest, was rear wheel drive and powered by the Ford 4601cc V8 engine giving 300bhp, 0-60 in 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 155mph.This rare, UK supplied, MG ZT 260 fitted with the Ford V8 engine and five speed manual gearbox was first registered in November 2006 and has only covered 47,500 miles from new. Finished in grey with black interior this MG ZT 260 is supplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in April 2023 and the original handbook pack. The British Bulldog is alive and kicking with this model and at that time was built to rival the BMW M3, with its rear wheel drive linked to a limited-slip differential. This much overlooked car is discreet on the outside, luxurious inside, but equipped with a heart of thunder.

2013 Land Rover Defender 90 Hardtop Transmission: manualMileage:113529The world-famous Land Rover Defender can trace its roots back to the original Land Rover series that was launched at the Amsterdam Motor Show in April 1948. This range of four-wheel drive off-road vehicles enjoyed a build run of 67 years. Production finally ended on 29th January 2016 when the last Land Rover Defender rolled off the production line. During this impressive build run the specifications of both trim and engines changed but outwardly there was little to distinguish an early vehicle to the final car. This handsome and practical hardtop version of the iconic four-wheel drive utility vehicle is fitted an impressive list of equipment. This includes black wheel arches, side steps, safari roof rack, extra lights, mudflaps, tow bar and a rear ladder. The look is enhanced with black sawtooth alloy wheels and black chequer plating to the bonnet. The practicality of this Land Rover is increased with the panelled rear section. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate, this is a great opportunity to purchase a piece of automotive history.
