2001 Rover Maestro 1.3 (Ledbury)Make: RoverModel: Maestro Year: 2001Mileage: 53688VIN: TETB10S130530Z002Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: X356AVJTransmission: manualIn 1994, Rover established Rodacar, a joint venture with a Bulgarian company to produce Maestros in that country using CKD kits sent from the UK. Production began in July 1995 and 2200 cars were assembled before the factory closed in April 1996. However, two British dealers, Parkway Services in Ledbury and Apple 2000 in Bury St Edmunds, acquired the stocks of unsold Maestros, both in CKD kit form and already-built up, and subsequently sold them in the UK, converting most of them to right-hand drive. This 2001 car is one of the Parkway Services CKD cars, albeit with its V5C recording it as a TET (Trans European Trading - a company very closely associated with Parkway Services). These Bulgarian machines are generally better-known as Ledbury Maestros. Seven former registered keepers are noted on the current V5C (which is accompanied by several past V5Cs), and the car's odometer records a mileage of 53,688. The MoT is valid until June 2022, and there are previous certificates from 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2015, 2014 2012, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007. There's also a print-out of previous MoTs from 2022 back to 2007 (when the mileage was 32,041 miles). One of the several bills in the paperwork file is for a repair to the roof, bonnet and bumper in 2012 at a cost of nearly £500. This Maestro is in very good order throughout, and a fascinating example of one of the very last examples of the breed to be put together. 1998 Rover Mini Cooper Make: RoverModel: Mini CooperYear: 1998Mileage: 134537VIN: SAXXNNAZEWD155378Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: R765GJETransmission: ManualMinis have always been popular candidates for modifying and customising, but the vendor believes this late Cooper, registered in August 1998, is almost completely original save for its aftermarket exhaust back-box. It has been off the road since 2016, with its last MoT expiring in August of that year. The car has had three former keepers according to the V5C, and the odometer reading - which is warranted by the history - is 134,537 miles. The paperwork includes the current V5C and the original document folder with owner's handbook, in-car entertainment guide and service book. This is stamped up to 60,474 miles in 2006. The online MoT history then confirms the mileage beyond that. There are test certificates from 2003 onwards and a selection of invoices. The most recent one, from April of this year, is for new pedal pads and an accelerator pedal. There are also tax discs from 2004 to 2014. Lot 213

1987 Rover SD1 2600 Vanden Plas AutoMake: Rover Model: SD1 Vanden PlasYear: 1987Mileage: 59800VIN: SARRRFWM3CM345142Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: D976XFETransmission: automatic In 1980, the Vanden Plas badge reached Rover's SD1 executive model, being applied to 2600 and 3500 models to denote flagships. Among the standard features were electrically-adjustable, heated door mirrors, cruise control, air conditioning and an electric sunroof, plus Dunlop Denovo tyres on alloy wheels, and a choice of velvet or Connolly leather upholstery. This white 2600 automatic with brown velvet interior was registered in April 1987. The vendor advises us that it spent around 20 years off the road - albeit indoors and under cover - before being acquired by a garage that intended to bring it back to the road. However, progress was slow, and the job was eventually taken over the the vendor, who did finish things off. Having done quite a lot of engine work, he reports that the car "runs beautifully". The current recorded mileage is 59,871. The paperwork file includes the current V5C, Rimmer Bros SD1 parts and accessories catalogue, original owner's handbook, a handful of tax discs from the turn of the century and various 2021 bills during the car's recommissioning. These total around £1500 in parts, with another handwritten note by the vendor chronicling a further £700 of expenditure, including £170 for the wheels to be shotblasted and coated, £140 for a rear suspension conversion (the original self-levelling system is in the boot, however), £110 for tyres and £200 for a camshaft and carrier. Overall, this Rover is in tidy order. The vendor carried out a bottom half respray himself, which he admits isn't to professional standards, but looks presentable enough. The only electrical fault he notes is that the driver's door mirror is inoperative. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 12TH OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1984 Land Rover Series III LightweightMake: Land Rover Model: Series 3 Lightweight Year: 1984Mileage: 12150VIN: SALLBBAH1AA207691Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: A204MWDTransmission: manualAlthough this 2.25-litre petrol Land Rover Series 3 Lightweight was only registered for the road in December 1997, it was manufactured in 1984 and served with the 8th Infantry HQ, Northern Ireland Signals Squadron as 85 KB 30. The vendor purchased the vehicle in December 2005, but used it very sparingly, generally only using it to drive to MoTs. This is backed up by its MoT history. The vehicle is currently SORN but has an MoT valid until the start of December 2021. A new bikini hood has recently been fitted, but the vendor describes the vehicle as 'in need of a full service and TLC'. The Land Rover is fitted with 12-volt electrics. One previous registered keeper is recorded on the V5C, with the odometer reading 12,150km (not miles). The history folder includes the V5C, military history record sheet, MoT certificates from 2020, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006 and 2005 (when the recorded mileage was 11,107km).

1972 Rover P5B 3.5 Litre Saloon AutoMake: Rover Model: P5BYear: 1972Mileage: 4046VIN: 84008980DConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: ENJ563KTransmission: Automatic Although running and driving, this V8 saloon would benefit from further improvement before being put to regular use. Fitted with new rear springs, it is noted that the car does sit rather high at the rear. Has V5, owners handbook and some MoT certificates back to 2003. The mileage is recorded at 4,120.

Lot 224

1972 Range Rover Classic 3.5 V8 Manual Suffix A""Make: Land RoverModel: Ranger Rover Classic Year: 1972Mileage: 31000VIN: 35504671AConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: SCK670LTransmission: manual'Suffix A' Range Rover production ran from the introduction of the Rover's upmarket off-roader from 1970 through to 1973, when the 'Suffix B' models were introduced - thus, a Suffix A is the Range Rover in its purest, most original two-door form - and all the more desirable to enthusiasts because of that. This Tuscan Blue example, registered in September 1972, was restored five years ago but then never used. The vendor tells us that lots of money was spent, during what was a body-off rebuild. All the panels were dipped and painted, while the suspension was treated to Bilstein shocks, a new steering box and Polyurethane bushes throughout. The Rover V8 engine was rebuilt, an Allisport alloy radiator fitted, a new clutch put in, and the brakes renewed, with Goodridge brake lines throughout. A new fuel tank was installed, along with a Facet fuel pump. All tyres were renewed. While the vehicle has been sat in a dry garage for three years, it will need some recommissioning to be returned to the road. A new rear bumper is also required. The indicated mileage is 31,575. The history folder includes bills from the restoration running to several thousands, as well as the current V5C document. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 30TH SEPTEMBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1973 Land Rover Series III 109 6 Cylinder Recovery"Make: Contact AuctioneerModel: Contact AuctioneerYear: 0Mileage: 0VIN: 94100954BConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: Contact AucitoneerTransmission: Contact AuctioneerThis six cylinder 2600cc 109" Series 111 is fitted with a Mann Egerton of Norwich Recovery Crane and a Bailey PTO driven front mounted winch. The V5 incorrectly states the engine size as 999cc. Five former keepers. 40,756 recorded miles. Offered for restoration. The V5C is present, with the vehicle currently SORN.

Lot 361

1959 Land Rover 109 Series II Pick-up"Make: Land RoverModel: 109" Series IIYear: 1959Mileage: 38199VIN: 151000377Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: TRV662Transmission: manualRegistered in October 1959, this Land Rover 109" truck cab originally went to work with the newly-created Central Electricity Generating Board's Southern Division, and was worked hard until retirement in 1971. Since then, the vendor tells us, it was stored in various barns and sheds by the subsequent four owners. Its first post-CEGB owner kept it among a collection of Rolls-Royces and Bentleys and used it occasionally on the road until 1984, but after he passed away, it was given to one of his friends, who soon passed it onto somebody else. He stored it in a barn for seven years, after which it moved to another owner, who then put it away in a shed until 2004. The next owner, from that year onwards, also stored it in a shed - where it stayed until 2021. Thanks to its lack of use post-electricity board service, its recorded mileage is still low for a vehicle of this age, at an indicated 38,199 miles. It is believed to still be totally original, still with electricity board transfers in place on the doors and black and white flashes on the rear. The grey paint, although worn and battered, is original, with the bulkhead, chassis engine and gearbox untouched. Because it hasn't on the road since 1984, it will require recommissioning to be used again. Included in the history folder are two original buff logbooks, an MoT certificate from 1983 and the current V5C registration document.

Lot 365

It was last on the road around fifteen years ago when it was recorded as having a colour change from green to black. Seven registered owners from new, the previous keeper from 1999 to 2016. It comes with a current V5.

Lot 370

1951 Land Rover Series I 80"Make: Land RoverModel: Series I 80"Year: 1951Mileage: Contact AuctioneerVIN: 16103813Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: Contact AucitoneerTransmission: manual1951 Land Rover Series 1 80 inch, requiring comprehensive restoration. The Heritage Certificate that comes with this Land Rover shows that it was built on the 21 June 1951 and despatched on the 26 of that month to the War Department. It was subsequently registered as 96 PKX (transferable) in April 1981. Three former registered keepers are noted on the V5C since then. The Land Rover comes with its current V5C, some previous V5Cs, original and new chassis plates, its British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, a photocopy of a small piece on the Series I in the 1994 issue of Classic Cars magazine, and MoT certificates from 1995 and 1996, showing a mileage of 44,634 on the latter.

Lot 425

1994 Range Rover Vogue LSE Lloyd Supercharged Make: Land RoverModel: Range Rover LSEYear: 1994Mileage: 82000VIN: SALLHBM33MA649247Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: L56BDGTransmission: automatic This metallic blue Range Rover LSE automatic was registered in March 1994 but from the late-1990s onwards, it seems the then owner became almost obsessed with ways of upgrading and improving the vehicle. In 1998, a supercharger was added to the V8 engine, although judging by correspondence in the history folder, the Range Rover seemed to go through quite a few of these. That was until 2016 when Lloyd Specialist Developments, a company with particular expertise in modifying Rover V8 engines, built a 4.8-litre V8 fitted with a Rotrex C38 supercharger for the vehicle. While it's unclear how much power the Range Rover now has, it's likely to be quite substantial. The history folder is a very extensive and well-organised one. The V5C is present, and shows three registered former keepers. The current MoT certificate is valid until April 2022, and there's a selection of previous MoTs in the file. However, it's the detailed invoices and correspondence dating from 1998 onwards that really tell the story of this Range Rover. Many, many thousands of pounds have been spent over the years, on body, mechanical and interior repairs and enhancements. A lot of care and attention to detail has been lavished on it over the years, no matter how big or small the job. The current mileage is around 82,000 miles, which can be warranted from the history file. The Range Rover is in excellent condition throughout.

Lot 435

1939 Rover P2 10Make: Rover Model: P2 10 Year: 1939Mileage: 0VIN: 902596Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: CED511Transmission: manualThis lovely-looking 1939 Rover 10 P2 has come from a small private collection, where it had been since 2006. Known as Cedric, in reference to its CED 511 numberplate, little is known about the 1389cc car's earlier life except that it was sold new on Anglesey. Following discovery in a Cumbrian barn in 1967, it was fully restored and repainted brown and cream. In 2003, it was sold and subsequently refurbished again, this time being painted green. During 2008, it was repainted once again in maroon and black, the livery it wears today and which particularly suits it. The current mileage is showing as 65,820 on the odometer, with six previous registered keepers recorded. The history folder is huge, with the current V5C present along with some previous V5Cs. There are many photos of body work being undertaken over the years (including one set showing attention during 2012), assorted parts catalogues, Pearson workshop manual, and relevant magazines, and tax discs, MoTs invoices dating back over many decades. There are even some toll tickets - it seems that almost everything related to this Rover has been saved and preserved. An insurance assessment from 2011 cites the then 63,901-mile Rover as being 'one of the finest examples of this model still used regularly by a very caring owner'. Improvements listed include a galvanised floor, stainless steel exhaust and thorough underbody seal comprised of old engine oil and waxoyl done personally by the owner. Electric washers were fitted, the braking system overhauled and the original leather seats and West of England cloth headlining described as in remarkable condition for their age. The Rover also comes with some spare keys.

1994 Rover Maestro 1.3 ClubmanMake: RoverModel: Maestro ClubmanYear: 1994Mileage: 49097VIN: SAXXCHWA1AM710950Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: M939MDATransmission: manualIntroduced in 1982 as a replacement for both the Morris Marina and Austin Allegro, the Maestro remained in production until 1994. In its final year, just 4000 were built, making this late example quite a rare machine. This white 1.3 Clubman example is fitted with the venerable and robust 1275cc A-Series engine, developing 68bhp. Supplied new by Rover Central Garages in Torbay, the V5C records this car as having had four previous keepers. The expiry date for the MoT is May 2022, and the odometer records 49,097 miles covered. The history folder includes original owner's books in their Rover wallet. The service book is stamped up until 34,033 miles in 2004, but there is a handwritten note attesting to an owner service at 48,721 miles during July 2021. The oil was changed and a new distributor cap, thermostat and spark plugs were fitted, while the cooling system was flushed and refilled with Comma G48 coolant. There are also MoT certificates from 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2019, and a few older bills. A spare key is also included. This Maestro is very well-preserved and, aside from some scratches on the front valance, some marks on the grey fabric upholstery and areas of loose headlining, is in very tidy condition overall. Even the digital clock is working. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 7TH OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

Among the work noted is refurbishment and painting of the lower body, new exhaust, rear springs, bootlid, tools and front headrest, plus a service in February 2020. The history folder includes the V5C, original publicity photos, more recent photos of the vehicle, sales brochure, a couple of recent maintenance bills and the last MoT certificate (which expired in February this year). 1907 Rover 6hp Two-SeaterRegistration no. AJ 498Chassis no. 1524•First owned by Sir Francis Samuelson•Sympathetically restored•Complete provenance Footnotes:'AJ 498' was purchased for Sir Francis Samuelson by his father as a Christmas present in 1907. In 1908 he set out to tour France in the Rover, recording the events in a diary that gives a fascinating insight into what motoring was like in those pioneering days. He replaced the car in 1909 with a similar model, and at that point began his successful motor racing career. A four-page article covering his career features in the April 1963 edition of Motor Sport magazine (copy on file). Sir Francis lost track of his car, but in 1950 saw an advertisement in Autocar magazine for a Rover and wrote to the seller (reply on file). He agreed to purchase the car, which had a few features he recognised, and the local vehicle licensing office confirmed that he had indeed bought back his Christmas present from 1907! Sir Francis kept the car until his death in 1981 when it passed to his son, from whom it was purchased by the immediately preceding owner, who went on to carry out a sympathetic restoration. The current enthusiast owner purchased the Rover at Bonhams' Beaulieu sale in September 2017 (Lot 563) and has used it sparingly since, preferring his Vintage Bentley. Offered with a substantial history file, this charming early Rover is ideal for Veteran Car Cub events, the popular 'Creepy Crawly' in particular. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com
