Registration - VA53 VAA Chassis No. - SCCGA11104HC70587 M.O.T. - April 2024 Odometer - 51,900 Well-kept Lotus Elises are highly prized, and this version offered here is one such model. Presented in gunmetal grey with black interior and black alloy wheels, ‘VA53 VAA’ is a superb example of the Series II sportscar. Powered by the 1.8-litre Rover K-Series engine, the straight-four unit is mounted transversely, providing a free-revving character for this lightweight roadster. Offered by the vendor complete with full service history, invoices, and handbook, this example of the Elise has only covered 51,900 miles, as supported by MOT records, and is completely original, save for the wheels which have been refurbished black. The body is rated as in good condition – as is the interior – and the paint has been ceramic coated for increased protection from the elements. The running gear is all regarded as in excellent condition by the vendor. The Elise is one of Lotus’s biggest success stories, launched in 1996 with the Series I. Thanks to its deliberately low kerb weight, it was able to accelerate from 0-60mph in a supercar humbling 5.8 seconds, and that’s just the entry-level model. As time went on, more powerful versions were introduced, and a full hard-top model was spun off with the Exige. In 2000, the Series II was introduced, continuing the good work carried out by the Series I. It kept the Rover K-Series engine for a time, but Lotus phased in a Toyota equivalent over the life of the Series II, and again, Lotus gradually offered more powerful versions, though always kept with a ‘base’ model in keeping with the company founder, Colin Chapman’s ideology. The Series III ran from 2011 until 2022, when it was dropped with a focus on electric models in the pipeline. But expect a small, lightweight Lotus back at some point in the future, quite simply because nobody does a compact, driver-focused roadster better. In summary: · A refined and striking, low-mileage example · Specification includes a long list of desirable upgrades · Comprehensive history file and service record

Lot 19

Registration - COY 441H Chassis No. - 42508488E M.O.T. - Exempt Odometer - 04365 The Rover P6 has a dedicated following and highly active Owner’s Club – and this 1969 eight-keeper example is just waiting for a new owner to take it in hand and lavish some TLC on it so that it can take pride of place in club gatherings. Sitting on original stainless steel wheels, as one would expect with a Series I model, and painted in white, with a black vinyl sunroof, ‘COY 441H’ has the stately lines so beloved by P6 afficionados. Inside, the once luxury interior is showing its age, and a new keeper will likely look to reupholster the front seats, replace carpets and generally do some fettling, while the vinyl roof would benefit from a refurbishment or perhaps replacement. The vendor describes the 161 bhp, 3.5-litre V8 engine, three-speed automatic transmission and electrics as ‘good’ and the bodywork, paintwork and interior as ‘average’. At its launch in 1963 the Rover 2000 (or P6 - the project codename for the sixth post-War Rover) caused a sensation, and was acclaimed as a luxury saloon which combined elegance with performance, safety and technological advancement. It was way ahead of its time, with innovations such as an independent suspension designed for (then-new) radial ply tyres, power assisted brakes to all four wheels, and bodywork crumple zones. An Autocar road test in 1963 declared the Rover 2000 to be ‘one of the outstanding cars of the decade’. The car was the very worthy recipient of the first-ever European Car of the Year award (1964) and, three years later, won the first AA Gold Rosette for Safety. In April 1968 Rover introduced the 3500, modifying Buick’s aluminium 3.5-litre V8 engine – a power unit which was already in use in Rover’s P5B and which became known as the Rover V8 engine. The more powerful new model was faster than most comparable vehicles offered in the UK market at the time, with a Motor road test achieving 115mph and 0-60mph in 9.5 seconds. Some 322,302 P6 Rovers of varying engine capacity were produced before the range was superseded by the SD1 in 1977. In summary: · A very original example of Rover’s luxury flagship · In need of a degree of cosmetic attention to the trim and vinyl roof · Will provide a new owner with a capable family classic

Lot 116

Registration – PSY 722 Chassis No. – 111702023 M.O.T. – Exempt Odometer – 30,852 This wonderfully authentic and characterful Series I comes from a large collection of Land Rovers, and is presented in Bronze Green with green interior. As simple and hardwearing as you would expect from a classic Land Rover, this Series I 88” Pick-Up uses a 2.25-litre four-cylinder engine and four-speed manual gearbox – at the time, it was offered with either this petrol unit or 2.0-litre diesel, and in 88” SWB or 109” LWB guises. Fitted with a full canvas roof, ‘PSY 722’ also comes with its original shovel and rear seats. Offered with much desired patina, the overall condition of this Series I pick-up is rated as good-to-excellent across the board. The powertrain in particular is regarded in the highest terms by the vendor, with everything well maintained and working as it should. Elsewhere, the paint, bodywork, and interior, although showing signs of its near 70 year history, are in ‘good’ condition. Considering that age, ‘PSY 722’ has an incredibly credible low mileage, at just 30,852 miles on the odometer, but it has, at least recently, been in regular use. Famously designed by Maurice Wilks in the sand of Red Wharf Bay, not even the most optimistic of on-lookers could have expected the runaway success that the Land Rover would become. It all started in 1948 with the Land Rover 80” – though clearly it became known as the Series I; initially it was simply the Land Rover. It came about essentially as a stop-gap for Rover to produce affordable vehicles in post-war Britain, and although inspired by the Willys Jeep, it went on to become hugely successful – not just in terms of sales, but in capabilities too. In 1954, the 80” was replaced by an 86” wheelbase, and with the addition of a long-wheelbase 107” model, the former became the short-wheelbase variant. These only lasted a couple of years however, before a rejig of the design brought about the 88” and 109” models in 1956, with a diesel option arriving a year later. In 1958, Land Rover realised that continued and significant improvements would need to be made, and these were significant enough to create a Series II Land Rover, thereafter ensuring the original versions became known as the Series I. In summary · A fantastic opportunity to own a late Series I Land Rover in excellent working condition · Well maintained and regularly driven · Offered with a very low indicated mileage of fewer than 31,000 miles

Lot 78

Registration - R243 CMB Chassis No. - SALLDHM67VA137694 M.O.T. - TBC Odometer - 116,697 This 1998 Defender has spent its entire life with Cheshire Constabulary’s Vehicle Fleet Services and now presents an exciting opportunity for a Land Rover enthusiast to acquire a partially completed rolling chassis restoration along with what’s described as ‘a pallet full of parts’. ‘R243 CMB’ most recently saw service on the Rural Crime Team at Macclesfield, where it gained something of a social media following under the name of its alter ego ‘Monty’. In November 2021 Vehicle Fleet Services embarked on a refurbishment programme which morphed into a no expense spared, body-off restoration of the Defender. However, a heavy workload for the department means that ‘Monty’ is now being offered for sale - at No Reserve. It has already acquired a complete new galvanised chassis and a fully-restored body, with new bulkhead, wings, floor pans, doors, A posts and numerous other new panels. Prior to the restoration, and within recent years, the vehicle had already benefited from a new clutch, new cambelt, new injectors/glow plugs and a new viscous fan – we are assured that the vehicle ‘ran like a dream’, so no further engine repairs were required during the restoration work. All the steering and suspension has been carefully checked and replaced as necessary including new power steering pipes, bushes, shock absorbers and springs, plus many more components. The front hub seals were replaced and new flexible brake hoses and new rear discs and pads fitted. The body shell now requires full electrics, lights, trim, etc. and the brake pipes, cables, fuel tank and fuel lines still need fitting. The biggest development in the original Land Rover’s history was the cessation of the Series line and its replacement with the Land Rover 90 and 110 models, later re-badged as Defender. This change was necessitated by the launch of the Land Rover Discovery, meaning the father of the range could no longer be called just a Land Rover – it too needed its own model name. The Discovery also brought a new engine to the party, the 200Tdi which, as fitted to the Defender, resulted in higher cruising speeds and more load-lugging torque. Gone now was the long-standing leaf spring suspension to be replaced by coils all round. Throughout the ‘90s, the model commenced the climb upmarket while remaining true to its roots. In summary: A rare opportunity to acquire a partially completed no expense spared restoration project together with ‘a pallet of parts’ One owner from new – the Cheshire Constabulary’s Vehicle Fleet Services A vehicle with a fascinating history, and offered at No Reserve

Lot 77

Registration - 15BF69 Chassis No. - WNI11569 M.O.T. - Exempt Odometer - 29,432 This characterful and highly-original Champ first rolled off the Austin Longbridge production line in 1956, before being accepted by the Army’s receiving depot at Church Broughton and issued with Army registration ‘15BF69’, entering service on 8th March 1956. The Austin Champ is presented in original military livery, with green bodywork, seat frames, and hood struts, as well as exterior-mounted spade and pick-axe. A ‘FFW’ (Fitted For Wireless) Champ, the Austin was specified by the Army to be fitted with a two-speed generator and extra wiring, to enable the mounting of a radio set. Struck off the Army census in 1967, it has been dry-stored for many years by the vendor, and this barn-find is also offered with both a trailer, and a new-old stock crate Rolls-Royce B40 engine. Bearing chassis-number WN1-11569, the Champ currently shows 29,432 miles on the odometer, and has not been registered for use outside of military service before. The vendor presently classes the bodywork and running gear as ‘below average’, though the crate engine as ‘excellent’. What will surely be a very rewarding project, this Austin Champ offers the perfect chance to obtain an alternative to the more common Jeeps and Land Rovers as a ‘go-anywhere’ military classic. Inspired by the ubiquitous American Jeep, the Champ was a British military vehicle designed immediately post WWII and manufactured from 1951 to 1956, at which point it was supplanted by the cheaper Land Rover. The lightweight 4x4 was powered by an Austin-built Rolls-Royce-designed four-cylinder petrol engine of 2838cc. Ultimately only 11,732 of the contracted 15,000 Champs were produced, all of which had been moved from front line army service to the territorial Army by the mid ‘60s, and were then sold into the private domain from 1968. Though their service life was curtailed by cost, they boasted impressive cross-country capabilities and could even touch 50mph in reverse – something neither the Jeep nor Land Rover could match. In summary: An ideal project, the Champ hasn’t been registered since leaving the Army books in 1967 Comes with a trailer, and new-old crate Rolls-Royce B40 engine Currently displaying a total mileage of 29,432
