1997 Rover Mini Cooper Transmission: manual Mileage: 97298John Cooper was well known for his involvement, with his father Charles, in developing the post-war rear engine single seater 500cc race cars that ran amok and beat the larger front engine cars of the period. John is also later renowned for his development of the iconic Mini with the Mini Coopers cleaning up in high profile race and rally events in the 1960s and beyond.Offered today is this 1997 Rover Mini Cooper which has been part of a private collection for some time. The Mini benefits from a 1275cc engine which makes for a very quick little car indeed. Generally, in very good order this Mini is fitted with various upgrades including uprated alloy wheels and an Alcantara sports steering wheel. Complete with a sizeable history file detailing various work undertaken, many old MoT test certificates, and the current UK registration document. This is a small package with potential for lots of fun.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2017 BMW AC Schnitzer ACL2S Transmission: automatic Mileage: 7173AC Schnitzer, a tuning company based in Aachen, Germany was founded in 1987 by Willi Kohl and Herbert Schnitzer. Its range includes tuning for BMW vehicles and the Mini and Land Rover makes, and also has a motorcycle arm. The firm has roots with Schnitzer Motorsport but is an independent company both commercially and legally and part of the Kohl Group.Historics are pleased to offer the very first AC Schnitzer ACL2S Car - number one of only 30 made - to celebrate AC Schnitzer's 30th anniversary. Based on a left hand drive BMW M240i xDrive and built at AC Schnitzer Germany, this car has numerous special features and was an award winner at the Essen Motor Show; it was also the launch car at the Geneva International Motor Show of the same year on the AC Schnitzer stand, winning another award. Used by AC Schnitzer as their press/show car and demonstrator, it was built as a custom car to win just such awards that it successfully did in 2017. The car still boasts its German AC Schnitzer number plates which were purchased with the car and the AC Schnitzer green show plates are also included. This vehicle was purchased direct from the stand of AC Schnitzer at the Essen Motor show, with an original build cost circa £120,000 euros by our vendor, the only registered keeper, and proprietor of a small and significant collection of motorcars. The ACL2S specification includes M240i xDrive with upgraded intercooler and a performance upgrade to 400hp. Boasting engine optic, quad sports exhaust system with black ceramic tailpipes, RS suspension individually adjustable for ride height, compression damping and rebound damping, 19 type VIII forged alloy wheels, 8.5J front and 9.5J rear in special bicolour finish with Michelin tyres, 10 piece ACL2S wide bodykit, carbon fibre front spoiler elements, lower front splitter, carbon fibre canard set and mirror covers with side skirts with carbon fibre winglets, carbon fibre racing wing with gurney strip, carbon fibre rear canards and rear diffuser and roof spoiler. The interior features painted panels, five pieces of which are part of the custom show car and not standard finish with ACL2S badge in stainless steel with laser-etched logo, AC Schnitzer steering wheel, alloy pedal set and footrest, luxury velour floor mats with AC Schnitzer embroidered logo, AC Schnitzer handbrake handle, AC Schnitzer iDrive cover, Recaro Sportster CS front seats with added seat heating at an extra cost and interior retrimmed in Racing Green and black leather with ACL2S branding.Repainted in matt Metallic Racing Green and serviced by BMW Barons less Than 1,000 miles ago the car is traffic - and heart - stopping and reportedly performs like a ballistic missile, making an M car look and feel entry level. That the ACL2S is an exceptional vehicle was also confirmed by the readers of ‘Auto Bild Sportscars’ being awarded the title ‘Sportscar of the Year 2017’ in the small and compact car class.Looking great, this car is UK registered and was serviced by BMW barons less than 1000 miles ago and has been used sparingly since. Original build cost was around 120,000 eurosOther features and further details can be found here:https://youtu.be/OHXWQlcizM0World Premiere at Geneva Motor-Showhttps://www.ac-schnitzer.de/en/about-us/chronicle.htmlEssen Motor-showhttps://www.autobild.de/bilder/tuning-world-bodensee-2017-highlights-11568621.html#bild40https://youtu.be/8hQVp0uI94ghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFJVa9LUGZghttps://www.topspeed.com/cars/bmw/2017-bmw-m240i-acl2s-by-ac-schnitzer-ar176020.htmlInterested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1975 Land Rover Light Van Transmission: manual Mileage: 78867The iconic Land Rover Series I, II, and III, commonly referred to as 'Series' Land Rovers to distinguish them from later models, are off-road vehicles produced in the Midlands by the iconic and world-famous manufacturer. Land Rover claim that 70% of the vehicles ever made are still in use today - a claim first made in the 1992 brochure and repeated many times since. We are told that this rare and striking, matching numbers petrol engined Land Rover was ordered by the Swiss post office. The sides of the car still feature the original PTT logo which stands for Postal, Telegraph and Telephone. We are also informed that the unusual tailor-made roof and roof rack are original and rare. This left hand drive example of the go anywhere 4x4 was kept in storage for 14 years hence the low mileage. The DVLA record for this Land Rover shows only 1 former keeper and it is offered without reserve. This Land Rover runs but will require some recommissioning.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Lot 165

1991 Range Rover CSK Transmission: automatic Mileage: 127888The limited edition Range Rover CSK was launched in 1990 and was named after Charles Spencer King, the original Range Rover two-door designer. Production was limited to 200 vehicles of which the majority were built as manuals with only 49 cars being fitted with an automatic gearbox. The CSK featured a number of modifications to improve both performance and comfort including a re-chipped version of the 3.9 litre V8 engine which produced 185bhp. The increased performance was complemented by improved handling with front and rear anti roll bars, sports dampers and the introduction of anti-lock brakes. Standard equipment included six speaker stereo system, air conditioning, tilt and slide sunroof, electric windows and power door mirrors. The Range Rover CSK offered here is one of only 49 automatic cars produced and bears number 190 of 200. Registered in 1991, this very original CSK is finished in Beluga Black with beige, diamond stitch full leather interior and has covered 127,888 miles. Having been supplied new by County Motors, Lincoln it boasts a mixture of main dealer service stamps in its original service booklet and numerous invoices latterly. The car has undergone a documented restoration including a respray, full engine rebuild, mechanical overhaul and new interior trim by London specialist Graeme Hunt between 2013-2014. It is offered for sale with a current V5 registration document and a history file containing numerous invoices, a photographic record of the restoration, the original owner’s manual and service record book.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1977 Morgan Plus 8 Transmission: manual Mileage: 26298Introduced in 1968, the Plus 8 became such an instant hit and enduring success that it not only provided the bedrock on which Morgan could build for the future, but quite possibly saved the company at a difficult time in its long history. Searching for new engines, Morgan concluded a deal with Rover for supply of its all aluminium 3.5 litre V8, thus creating a car that combined vintage charm with Cobra-like 'grunt' - the Plus 8. Morgan's Plus 4 chassis, strengthened and extended, formed the basis of the new car, while the existing Moss four-speed gearbox was also retained. After a successful debut at the 1968 London Motor Show, production commenced at the rate of around 15 cars per month. While the traditionally styled Morgan's brick-like aerodynamics restricted top speed to around 125mph (more than fast enough for most people driving an open car) the Rover V8's 168bhp made for supercar league performance through the gears. The Morgan Plus 8 was very popular and remained in production for 36 years. Originally registered on 21st March 1977, this Morgan has been owned by the vendor for the last 32 years. In 1987 the car was restored at The Morgan Motor Factory which included a new aluminium body, wings and frame. In 1993 the engine was rebuilt by Techniques Morgan to 4.1 litre ‘blueprint’ fast road specification, an oil cooler and Kenlowe fan were also fitted together with a Harpers SS tuned exhaust system. The brakes have been upgraded as have the shock absorbers, new 15” alloy wheels have been fitted, along with a number of additional subtle improvements. This is a Morgan that certainly travels with alacrity. During his stewardship, the vendor has spent long periods working overseas which accounts for the low mileage; however the car has been professionally stored in his absence. Presenting in very good order, this Morgan is supplied with a hardtop, V5C registration document and a good history folder, together with a number of spare parts and the original 14” wheels and tyres. Without doubt this is an interesting Plus 8 that offers performance and handling second to none. Photographs courtesy of Luke Papworth from Hampshire PhotographyInterested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.Interested parties should note that this Morgan comes with wet weather gear, a spare set of wheels and tyres and a box of spares.

Lot 173

1977 Morgan Plus 8 FIA Race Car Transmission: manual Mileage: 18000The Morgan Plus 8 was introduced in 1968 in England. Developed by Maurice Owen, it is based on a modified Plus 4 chassis and equipped with a V8 Rover engine attached to the Moss gearbox and a Salisbury axle with limited slip differential. The model gradually evolved until the V8 Rover disappeared in 2003. In 1983, the Plus 8 adopted fuel injection before switching to a 3.9L displacement in 1990. Developing 190 horsepower for a weight of only 940 kilograms, the Morgan Plus 8 went from 0 to 100 km/h in 6 seconds and reached 200 kilometres per hour in rush hour - a true sports car with a very classic design that delivers a lot of thrills! First registered on 1st December 1977, this 1976 road legal Plus 8 race car comes supplied with FIA papers making it a potential front runner and eligible for a wide range of race series ranging from HSCC Road Sports, 70’s Road Sport, Tour Auto and CSCC. Originally converted in the 1990’s for the Dutch Morgan Championship, it was used throughout Europe, competing no less than twenty-seven times by 2007. The car raced at all the ‘bucket list’ races Europe has to offer with entries at Spa, Nurburgring, Zolder, Hockenheim and Zandvoort amongst others and all documented in the accompanying Wagenpass booklet. Just rebuilt with no expense spared, including an RS Fabrications bespoke roll cage, complete suspension, brake and steering overhaul, as well as boasting a 3900cc John Eales Race Engine, (circa 270BHP), with roller rockers, adjustable pushrods and cylinder heads both just refreshed. Two new Sparco race seats have also been fitted along with new 6 point race harnesses, removeable Spacro steering wheel, extinguisher system, Race Tech gauges, silicone hoses and an aluminium radiator. Supplied with its UK V5C registration document, Wagenpass and its hardtop roof, this fantastic car offers great versatility ranging from use as a fast road car, road rally weapon or full front running racetrack racing thrills.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 193

2009 Land Rover Defender SVX 60th Anniversary Limited Edition Transmission: manual Mileage: 24300This special edition of the iconic Land Rover Defender was introduced to celebrate the 60th anniversary of this classic British 4×4 and since 1948, the original Land Rover has come a long way. The limited edition SVX shares its mechanical layout with the standard Defender, including the same, recently revised 2.4 litre, four-cylinder, turbo diesel engine. There are, however, a host of upgrades including a full, front to back, roll cage in contrasting silver to the Santorini black body colour with 60th Anniversary side-panel decals. Weather gear includes a mohair ‘bikini’ hood which goes on quickly or you can opt for the full hood enclosing the rear deck too (both supplied). Additionally, it benefits from big wheels, distinctive brightwork and a silver-coloured grille and headlamp surround with LED units to the rear. It’s also reported to be ‘flatter-riding’ than any previous Defender courtesy of some subtle, SVX-only improvements to the damping making life more comfortable. To the interior, the obvious addition is a large set of Recaro seats with firmer cushioning transforming the driving position from the usual Defender to, it is thought by the motoring press, ‘something close to ideal’. There are also a host of other small but well considered trim changes including an SVX gearstick, an SVX plaque, side steps, iPod connectivity, electric windows, satnav, and air conditioning. These cars perform brilliantly off-road thanks to excellent ground clearance and axle articulation, a locking centre differential and clever traction control. The owner spent some time looking for an SVX and back in 2019, he found one. He has used it sparingly, covering just 700 miles since purchase. During that time, he has replaced the front swivel joints with genuine parts as well as numerous other service items including intercooler hoses. The tyres are in good order and sit on genuine SVX alloys with the spare strapped down in the boot alongside two side-facing jump seats. Complete with owner’s manual and SVX -registration number, these Defenders will have a small and select following among those seeking the ultimate incarnation. All versions of the Defender hold their value well and with only 90 (of 300) SVX soft-tops and station wagons sold in the UK, rarity is assured.Interested parties should note that this vehicle was the subject of light damage early on in its life, a right hand side impact. It was deemed a category D insurance loss, i.e. damaged but repairable. Due to the rarity, it was subsequently rebuilt with no perceptible issues now visible, either internally or externally. Additionally, it has a full MoT test certificate valid until December 2021 and it is worth noting that were this a pristine (non cat-D) vehicle, it would need to be garaged and not be driven in order to maintain its value whereas this can be driven and enjoyed immediately.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 220

2000 Lotus 340R Transmission: manual Mileage: 10860Given the success of its long-running Seven, still manufactured by Caterham and much copied by others, perhaps the most surprising thing is not that Lotus had another stab at building a stripped-down, back-to-basics sportscar, but that it took them so long. First shown as a concept car at the 1998 British International Motor Show, the 340R uses the Elise's bonded aluminium mid-engined chassis, basic running gear and 1.8-litre Rover K-Series engine in its 177bhp form. Originally the target bhp/ton power-to-weight ratio, the '340' ended up being the maximum production figure for this exclusive and exciting car. Even more Spartan than the Elise, the 340R lacks roof, doors, windows and heater, all omitted in the cause of weight reduction, while the narrowed body makes do with carbon-fibre cycle wings instead of the real thing. The end result is a fantastic car looking like no other in current production and one that, according to EVO magazine, enables its driver to 'bask in the quizzical wonderment that every other road user expresses when you pull up alongside.' Despite looking like a track-day special, a role, incidentally, at which it excels, the 340R possesses full European type approval and delivers a level of ride comfort totally unexpected in such a performance-focussed car. This fabulous example presented in grey with blue interior is car number 66 of 340 built. It is in original factory specification fitted with the more powerful 190bhp factory upgraded 1800 engine and comes with original Tecnomagnesio four stud wheels, five point harness fitted to both seats and has a Meta alarm system with intrusion sensor. A few dealer extras were fitted such as a quick release Alcantara steering wheel (original included) short shift gear change (original parts included) fire extinguisher, Decat pipe (original catalyst fitted currently) and is shod with Yokohama tyres. There is a full service history with the car with all but one Lotus dealership stamps in the book (16 altogether). The last C graded service was carried out in 2018 at 10,550 miles and it was then that the cambelts were changed and an A service was carried out by the owner in 2020 at 10,776 miles. It comes with an original toolkit and all factory books, two sets of keys and an outdoor cover. With performance figures matching many Supercars 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds and 0-100mph in 10.1 seconds, this is an adrenalin rush on wheels weighing as little as 700kg! Superbly impractical but supremely outrageous! Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 260

1992 Range Rover Vogue SE Transmission: automatic Mileage: 119132The first generation Range Rover was produced between 1970 and 1996. The original car was not designed as a luxury-type 4x4; while certainly up-market compared to preceding Land Rover models, the early Range Rovers had fairly basic, utilitarian interiors with vinyl seats and plastic dashboards designed to be washed down with a hose.  Features such as power assisted steering, carpeted floors, air conditioning, cloth/leather seats and wooden interior trim were fitted later. The Range Rover was a body-on-frame design with a box section ladder type chassis similar to contemporary Land Rovers. The Range Rover utilised coil springs as opposed to leaf springs, permanent four-wheel drive and four-wheel disc brakes and was originally powered by the Rover V8 engine. This Range Rover Vogue SE was registered in May 1992 and at the time was the top of the range flagship car for the world famous Midlands manufacturer. Presenting well in metallic blue with grey leather upholstery this automatic example has benefitted from the fitment of a towbar and the ever useful side steps. Offered to auction without reserve, a UK V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until October 2021, this is an ideal opportunity to join the country set or just to enjoy an elevated driving position. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 266

1983 Land Rover Series III 88” Country Safari Transmission: manual Mileage: 59170The iconic Land Rover Series I, II, and III are commonly referred to as ‘Series’ Land Rovers to distinguish them from later models. These easily recognisable vehicles were produced by the world famous midland manufacturer from 1948 until 1985. Land Rover state that 70% of the vehicles are still in use today. A superb achievement for any motor manufacturer. This fantastic 1983 Series III with desirable Safari top was originally registered in December 1983 and as such was one of the last Safari to come off the production line benefiting from all Land Rovers enhancements, such as tinted windows, wing mirrors fitted on door hinges and rear wiper. This example has benefitted from a sympathetic restoration to an originally excellent Series III Safari Station Wagon, boasting original bodywork, chassis, bulkhead and interior the quality of which is easy to see. The car now presents wonderfully in Land Rovers red coachwork complemented by a contrasting white Safari roof and classic white steel wheels. We are informed by the vendor the 2.3 litre petrol engine has had a cylinder head overhaul with unleaded fuel specification and all the engine ancillaries were either replaced or renewed including new carburettors, new battery and radiator. The transmission has been rebuilt and he states there is no noise or movement in the drive train. The chassis and bulkhead are both excellent, the suspension, brakes and all steering parts were also renewed whilst the original body was stripped, new rear wing and door skin fitted and completely repainted. The practical seat configuration of this iconic car consists of three individual seats in the front and four inwards facing fold away seats in the rear which are equally adept at taking friends to the pub for a pint or transporting livestock should you need. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document, a file containing restoration documents, bills and receipts, MoT test certificate valid until October 2021, this can be considered an appreciating British classic.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 271

2001 MG Rover ZS180 Transmission: manual Mileage: 91446The MG ZS 180 is a sports saloon car built by MG Rover between 2001 and 2005 and was the flagship vehicle produced at Rover’s Longbridge factory. Being developed from the Rover 45 but just as the Rover was a luxury saloon, the MG was produced as a sporting saloon and was leaning heavily on the Honda heritage at the time by utilising the double wishbone front suspension, fully independent multi-link rear suspension and uprated springs and shock absorbers giving the MG a lower, firmer ride with better handling. The braking system was improved with larger disc brakes front and rear as well as ABS and EBS assistance. The ZS 180 was fitted with 2.5 litre V6 24 valve four cam engine producing 175 BHP giving an official top speed of 139 MPH with 0-60 in 7.3 seconds. Visually the 180 has a deep front bumper with a bib spoiler and built-in fog lights with lower side sills, a large rear wing was offered as an option but 17” sports alloy wheels with 205 tyres came as standard. This example is presented in silver with a black and blue interior and comes with two sets of keys, the owner’s handbook and has only had three owners from new, the present owner having owned it since 2004. The car’s history file contains invoices for recent work such as new cambelt, water pump, thermostat, front coil springs and top mounts. The wheels have been refurbished and it comes with a current MoT test certificate which expires 27th October 2021.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
