- Believed to have been sold new in Italy and registered in England in March 2016 - Reported to have had only two owners in Italy with just 48,000 recorded kilometres, with instruction and service books - An early four door Range Rover in a classic colour combination and described as having good body and paint work Reportedly sold new in Italy in 1982 to a director of the Italian dairy company Parmalat, this 3.5 V8 petrol engined Range Rover was first registered in England in March 2016. Prior to its arrival in England the vehicle reportedly had the side panels repainted about eight years ago, and only 48,100 kilometres (29,900 miles) are recorded on the odometer with the car being accompanied by a hand book and service book. Also of note is in 2007 the car was awarded certification by Automotoclub Storico Italiano (ASI) which is awarded to only the most correct and original vehicles. At the time the Range Rover wore the Reggio Emilia licence plate RE-434098, and as the Parmalat head office is based within the Reggio Emilia region it is possible that the vehicle remained in that car friendly area for most or all of its life in Italy. Finished in a classic and most agreeable colour combination, this Range Rover has been described by the vendor as having "good" bodywork, paintwork, engine, and interior trim.
- 1 of just 33 licensed examples known to the DVLA and 38,000 miles from new - Large file of bills and historic MOT certificates plus cherished no. plate 'K5 TAS' - Engine, Automatic, Electrics, Paint, Trim: 'Excellent' / Body: 'Very Good' Vendor Condition Ratings: Bodywork: 'Very Good' Engine: 'Excellent' Electrical Equipment: 'Excellent' Paintwork: 'Excellent' Transmission: 'Excellent' Interior Trim: 'Excellent' Further Info: The Rover 800 was designed because of British Leyland's need for a replacement for the Rover SD1, whilst Honda was keen to expand its presence in the lucrative North American market, something which it couldn't fully do unless it had a full-size luxury saloon in the range. Joint development of the car began in 1981 under the 'XX' codename. The development work was carried out at Rover's Canley plant and Honda's Tochigi development centre. In the autumn of 1991, the 800 was re-skinned and re-engineered under the 'R17' codename. This saw the re-introduction of the traditional Rover grille and more curvaceous bodywork. A two-door coupÚ version was launched in early 1992, having debuted at the 1991 Motor Show. From 1992 until 1996, the Rover 800 Coupe came exclusively with the 2.7 Honda V6 engine and 16-inch Rover 'Prestige' alloys. A four-speed automatic transmission came as standard, and the car was capable of well over 130mph. The car had been originally developed with the American market in mind but was never sold there, with Rover having pulled out of the US market before the CoupÚ's launch. It was, however, sold to other export markets. Eighty percent of the interior and exterior of the 800 CoupÚ was finished by hand. On offer here is a 1992 registered model. The paintwork and interior are almost 'as new', the car having covered just 38,000 miles, with all electrics working as they should. In the current owner's care for some time, no expense has been spared when maintaining the car, and it comes to the sale with a large file of bills and old MoT certificates. The cherished registration number 'K5 TAS' is also included, as well as a current MoT certificate. Here is an opportunity to acquire a now rare and appreciating car, of which only 33 are believed to remain licensed by the DVLA, and which represents tremendous value for money.
