Form 1985 to 1991, it was owned by a vet in Newbury, who then sold it onto a gentleman who used it to transport his bee hives to the Berkshire Downs. It's now being sold by a member of the same family. Features of the Landie include a Safari back, overdrive, free-wheel hubs, and stainless steel exhaust. All four tyres are described as 'almost new'. A Hi-Torq starter motor is also fitted. The vehicle's last MoT expired in October 2018, but it is now MoT-exempt. The paperwork folder includes the current V5C plus some previous ones, along with a stack of invoices from 2008 to 2021. There are also MoT certificates from 2012 (5032 miles) to 2017 (6386 miles). 1963 Rover P4 110Make: Rover Model: P4 110Year: 1963Mileage: 93333VIN: 76501314AConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: 477GUETransmission: manualThis stately Rover P4 110 - with the most powerful engine fitted to these cars, a 2638cc six-cylinder unit of 123bhp - was registered in June 1963. The vendor acquired it in July 2021; little is known of the car's history before that save for five former registered keepers being noted on the V5C and the odometer reading 93,333 miles. The last MoT expired in May 2019, although as an historic vehicle, the P4 no longer requires testing. The paperwork file includes the current and some past V5Cs, a £1233 bill from 2021 for fuel pump replacement and other work, a couple of other invoices from 2008 and 2009 and MoT certificates from 2015, 2016 and 2018, along with a print-out of the online MoT history back to 2006 (when the mileage was noted as 91,097 miles). There's also two Rover 110 owner's manuals plus a British Leyland era P4 workshop manual. Aside from some generally flat paint, with swirl marks from polishing, the Rover presents well. 1971 VW 1600 E Variant AutoMake: Volkswagen Model: E Variant Year: 1971Mileage: 69570VIN: 3612236872Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: GMY195JTransmission: automatic This rare Volkswagen 1600E Auto 'Variant' - the name VW gave to estate versions of its Type 3 - was previously part of the massive collection of 543 classics owned by British dentist Dr James Hull. In 2014, this historic fleet was sold to Jaguar Land Rover and thus the Variant was owned and looked after by its Heritage department for five years, before passing back into private hands. This sunroof model, in white with contrasting black interior (and accessories such as window blinds, wind/rain deflector and front auxiliary lamps) was subject to a photographically-documented restoration in the 1990s. The vendor tells us that, while the interior and mechanical side are in very good order, the paintwork could now do with some improvement.

Lot 723

1993 Land Rover 110 2.5TDiMake: Land Rover Model: 110 TDYear: 1993Mileage: 56000VIN: SALLDHAF7KA927747Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: L819CFXTransmission: manualRegistered in October 1993, this is a genuine armoured police Land Rover Defender, although its current 'Police Bomb Disposal' appearance may be more down to it recently being owned by a TV and movie vehicle supply company. While little is known about the 110 2.5TDi's first few years, the Penman Engineering-converted vehicle was was acquired in 1996 by Birmingham-based rail consultancy firm Aegis Engineering. It stayed there until 2000 when it was purchased by South Yorkshire Police. There is a record of its time there, chronicling servicing, other maintenance, and safety checks, from 2000 to 2010, during which period the mileage went from 42,404 to 53,226 miles. Two former keepers are recorded, and there's a fresh MoT valid until February 2023. The paperwork file includes the V5C, plus MoT certificates from 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022. The current mileage is recorded as 56,824 miles, although this isn't warranted. The Land Rover, which is in generally good order throughout, comes with its police-fitted equipment such as side skirts, front bull bar, roof lamp and emergency lights still in place. It drives as it should, although, as an armoured Land Rover, it is a heavy vehicle to pilot.
