A portrait miniature in unmarked white metal frame of Colonel John Montgomery MP of Ballyleck County Monaghan, died 1733, John Montgomery was the second son of Colonel Alexander Montgomery 1667-1722 MP for County Monaghan of Ballyleck and Elizabeth Cole, daughter of Colonel Thomas Cole of Mount Florence County Fermanagh, John Montgomery commanded a regiment of horse under the Duke of Marlborough, he succeeded his father to the Ballyleck Estate when his elder brother Thomas Montgomery (politician) was disinherited for marrying an English woman, in 1732 he married Mary Coxe, maid of honour to Queen Caroline, wife of King George I of England, with attribution label and no.12 verso, 6.6x5cm, also a further 18th century portrait miniature in unmarked yellow metal frame of an officer in red jacket with yellow trim collar and lapels, possibly a volunteer regiment, 5x4.1cm (2), also a small quantity of research material (illustrated)

India – miniature portrait – Maharajah Karak Indian ivory miniature portrait watercolour of Maharajah Kharak (1802-40)^ son and successor of Maharajah Ranjit Singh of Punjab. India School^ finely painted. Kharak Singh came to the throne of the Punjab in 1839 and died in 1841^ hence paintings of him are extremely rare. Measurers 60 x 45mm.

Gulab Singh^ a Dogra Sikh became ruler of Kashmir after purchasing the territory after it had been ceded by the Lahore Durbar to the British as a consequence of the First Anglo Sikh War of 1845-6. Measurers 60 x 45mm.

An ebonised framed oval Portrait Miniature of Mr. Beris Harcourt Wood, (1902-1968) 1 3/4`` x 1 3/8`` approx. He was named after ``Caer Beris``, the family estate at Builth Wells. Beris Harcourt Wood became a well-known racing driving competing in a number of races notably the Le Mans 24 hour race in 1930 as one of the ``Bentley Boys`` in a Blower Bentley (supercharged).
An Ormolu finished framed appealing oval Portrait Miniature, 2 7/8`` x 2 3/8`` approx. of a young girl holding a kitten in her arms and understood to be Fanny (Frances) daughter of Thomas Wood (21 April, 1777 -26 January, 1860) who was an English Tory politician for Breconshire who sat in the House of Commons from 1806 -1847. He was the son of Thomas Wood and his wife, Mary Williams, daughter and heiress of Sir. Edward Williams of Llangoed Castle and the grandson of Thomas Wood (1708 -1799). The family had considerable Estates in Middleham, Yorkshire, Gwerryfed (Talgarth) and Littleton and Astlam in Middlesex. He married Lady Caroline Stewart, daughter of Robert Stewart, first Marquess of Londonderry. Wood and his wife enjoyed the friendship of members of the Royal Family. George IV had apparently visited the Woods at Gweryfed and other Royals visited them at Littleton. William IV nominated Wood to be one of his executors.
