Bailey,1829, watercolour on ivory, backed with white board, 5.5 by 4.5cm, in oval rose gold plated frames, together with a Georgian portrait miniature, the lady a Beauty in powdered wig, with a shawl over one shoulder, fastened with a brooch, watercolour on ivory, 7 by 5.5cm, in small wooden frame. Bristol.- Branwhite (Nathan, 1775-1857) Portrait traditionally understood to show Charles Branwhite (1817-1880), half-length, oil on card, 126 x 110 mm. (4 7/8 x 4 3/8 in), unframed, with back of frame which is inscribed with attributions and sitter details, circa 1840.⁂ Nathan Branwhite was Bristol's leading miniature portrait painter in the 1820s, and his son was to become a highly regarded watercolourist, and close associate of William James Müller (1812-1845).
