A quantity of British and foreign coins and banknotes, including a Victoria old head crown 1900, a circular copper medallion, engraved to one side with two figures beside a tripod table and to the other side with a horsedrawn carriage scene, early 19th century, a U.S.A Morgan dollar 1880, in a silver pendant mount, further crown size coins and medallions, a few ancient coins, various British and foreign banknotes, a small quantity of pre-1947 coinage, mostly half crowns, a two pounds coin, also a few badges and fobs, including Lloyds Bank Limited and gaming counters, also a 9ct gold and seed pearl set brooch, detailed Avon Highest Honour, contained in two tins, (qty).
A Boxed Chinese Mandarin Fan, Qing Dynasty, the monture of wood lacquered in black and gold. The upper guards show two figures in a garden, a further such figure in each lower section. The gorge recto/verso shows a fenced garden area with two figures and a small tripod table. The double paper leaf features similar scenes recto/verso, with figures wearing robes of applied silk, their faces of applied painted ivory. Finished with a slim tassel of turquoise and ruby silks. Contained in a black lacquered fan box with gold exterior decoration, fitted inside for the fan. Guard length 11 inches or 28cm. Clean and shiny lacquer. One fold noted as slightly lifting after a tear, just to one side. Box in good, used order.

A PAIR OF EARLY GEORGE III MAHOGANY TORCHERES in the manner of Thomas Chippendale, each with an octagonal top with a pierced fretwork gallery, on a turned and fluted shaft with an elongated baluster lower section incorporating a spirally-fluted urn, on tripod bases with elongated pad feet, 10" wide x 48.75" high Provenance: Originally from the collection at Herriard Park, Hampshire, the home of the Jervoise family. These torcheres, with their fine quality timber and purity of execution, may be compared to similar torcheres supplied to Paxton House by Thomas Chippendale in 1774
