A large antique Japanese bronze Censer, of large proportions, with embossed scenes and flora, raised on tripod feet, D 54cm (57cm with handles) x H 31cm.Provenance - The Damien Parsons Collection. A good George III Mahogany bowfront Stick Barometer, signed J Ramsden, London, circa 1790, concealed mercury tube with a single silvered dial, signed, well figured trunk with urn shaped cistern cover, L 100 cm. Jesse Ramsden (b1731-d1800) is known to be one of the greatest instrument makers of all time. His outstanding invention was a dividing machine for accurate scale division and was credited with adapting the tripod as a carrying case for the mountain barometer. A George III Mahogany Rectangular Tray Top Tripod Table on turned central column with spiral reeded knop, and cabriole legs with scroll carved toes, 20ins x 14.5ins x 25ins highTo the top there is some general light scattered scratching around all four edges of the top. There is general rubbing and edge knocks. On the right hand side at the top the moulding is coming away. On the left hand side there is a small area of damage in a triangular section around 1ins x 1ins. General heavier wear to the feet and legs commensurate with age. Overall the item is structurally sound with little to no movement in the joints.
A group of five Chinese jadeite carvings, 20th century and later, comprising two jars and covers, heights 18.5cm and 17.2cm (one handle damaged), a tripod censer and cover with dragon finial and handles, height 10.5cm, a figure group of an eagle, snake and rabbit, height 11.2cm, and a Tang style war horse, height 11.9cm.
