A 19th century mahogany pedestal tilt-top tripod table, having birdcage action, bearing plaque for S&H Jewell of High Holborn London, all raised on baluster turned column to three hipped cabriole supports, with pointed padfeet, dia.67cm, h.68cmCondition report: Some wobble to top but table stands well.No splits to top. Some wear to edge of top.Base good.No apparent breaks.
A mid-19th century rosewood occasional table; the thumbnail-moulded scallop-edged top above a tapering stem and raised on tripod base with elongated pad feet (some restoration required to top)Dimensions are as follows 52cm wide x 70cm high. Condition wise the scallop edge top has had the beginnings of a bad restoration on it - there is a lot of open grain and it is very light, it appears that the original surface has been taken away. There is significant scratching and there is probably about a 25cm of cracking of the veneers around the edge of the actual scallop itself. So overall the veneers are cracked over about half of the table. The stem looks OK underneath and the tripod base looks good although there are minor scuffing and marks commensurate with age to probably one of the feet.
