His Theodolite design was used on numerous high precision surveys from 1784, and contributed to his election to the Royal Society in 1786. In addition to Theodolites, Ramsden built balances, barometers, sextants, and other precision instruments. When the Troughton & Simms partnership was established in 1826, Barrow was also working in London, his trade workshop located in Crown Court, Soho. Two Victorian piano stools, both with circular upholstered adjustable seats, carved tripod bases.Qty: 2Condition report:The camel coloured seat stool works by way of the adjustable seat screws up and down and remains a sturdy stool. The Green/ blue coloured seat stool does not adjust the height. The original screw thread post seems to be present but it doesn't rise or fall. The seat itself is also fairly unsteady with the platform it rests on being a little loose. The legs on this stool have old bracket repairs to the underside.
