LARGE RUSSIAN SILVER JEWELED EGG Large Russian silver egg having a beaded feather design throughout. Top half holding four raised Double Headed Eagle coat of arm designs. Egg holds two cabochon cut sapphire jewels to top and bottom. Bottom half holds eight oval cabochon jade jewels. Includes tripod base with leaf garland designs. Gold wash interior holds Impressed 88 silver purity, town, Cyrillic, eagle warrant and head marks. Marked to both sides of interior and lip. Measures 5 7/8" height + 1 1/2" base height (14.9cm + 3.8cm). Total weight of 17.2ozt.
A Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase by Kinshuen Motonobu, the shouldered globular body thickly enamelled and gilt with a continuous scene of arhats, the brocade effect rim flanked by a pair of foliate handles, on short tripod feet, black signature and red seal mark to base, height approx 16cm.
