Horace Woodward joined the partnership in 1853, and the firm became known as a leading Electroplate and Silversmithing Company operating from premises at 138 Great Charles Street Birmingham with saleroom at 41 Hatton Garden, London. In 1859, Joseph Hirons left the partnership and the firm became known as Cartwright & Woodward. The firm participated in The International Exhibitions of London in 1851 and 1862 as well as Paris in 1867.The lot offered is stamped with the Diamond design mark and was registered on 19th September 1868 in Birmingham.
