Piedi a forma di testa di 'cane di Fo'. Le impugnature con anelli pendenti sono sulla spalla a forma di drago, e circolari sul coperchio. In cima al coperchio è scolpito in tuttotondo un drago attorcigliato. Base a due piani in legno intagliato. Tracce di plastilina gialla sui piedi e sul supporto. Altezza 17 cm (base inclusa), diametro orlo 7,7 cm L'imperatore Qianlong (reg. 1736-1795) era appassionato di sculture in giada e pietre dure e ammirava forme e decorazioni dei vasi antichi. Durante il suo regno nelle manifatture imperiali sono stati prodotti numerosi oggetti d'ispirazione arcaica. - China, Qing Dynasty, 18th-19th Century Smoky agate with some white, cloudy inclusions. Harris ha origine nel 1817 con John Mark Harris la cui attività è documentata a partire dal 1831 al 27 di Nelson Street a Londra, specializzata nella produzione di cucchiai e servizi di posate da tavola. Dal 1842 il figlio, John Robert Harris sposta il laboratorio a Kirby Street e la produzione continua ad avere come prerogativa la posateria da tavola. Dieci anni dopo Charles Stuart Harris acquisisce la direzione della manifattura e oltre a continuare la produzione di oggetti in argento, si specializza nell’electro plated. Nel 1885 acquista la manifattura dell’argentiere Houle aumentando così la produzione e dal 1897 la manifattura comincia ad utilizzare il marchio C.S.Harris&Sons Ltd, specializzandosi in oggetti di gusto settecentesco. - London 1874/75 Tripod on contoured foot, the body smooth, hinged, folding contoured handle with holder in woven straw, smooth lip terminating in an acanthus leaf. A bronze tripod vessel with bulbous body, flared neck and base; to the shoulder, two animal masks with attached free-running rings; to the base three legs formed as birds with spread wings modelled in the round; domed lid with three radiating birds and larger central bird with spread wings; parcel-gilt scrolled tendril decoration to base, body and lid.
