A GEORGE III MAHOGANY OCCASIONAL OR SUPPER TABLECIRCA 1780The circular top above a fluted stem, wrythen vase and tripod base70cm high, 87cm diameterCondition Report: There are some marks, scratches, chips, splits, abrasions consistent with age and use, some to the extremities and edges.There is a crack along the grain of the timber to one side of the table top. There are pitted indentations to two areas of the table top.There is a chip to the top underside of one of the legs. The claw carved feet are hollowed out to conceal recessed casters and there are chips and splits to the feet edges in particular.Please refer to the additional images for a visual reference of condition. A World War 2 Broadhurst Clarkson MK VI leather bound three draw observer / sniper's spotting telescope and tripod, stamped 'TEL SIG MK VI also GS - H.C.R & SON Ltd - NO 8158 - OS 717 GA' above broad arrow, with low-high shutter to eye piece, 36¼in. (92cm.) long when fully extended; the painted green wooden and metal tripod stamped 'NEW ZEALAND', broad arrow and 9319. (2) * Appears to be working and complete, leather with light wear, tri-pod with loss of paint etc, overall good.
A Japanese earthenware Satsuma miniature tripod censer, Meiji period (1868-1912), signed with seal mark, painted with sixteen deer below a gilt lappet border to the rim, the cover with rabbit finial, 2in. (5.1cm.) high; together with an earthenware Satsuma enamelled box and cover, in the form of a garden seat, with trefoil handles, decorated with cranes amidst flowering plants, 2 5/8in. (6.7cm.) high, crack to cover. (2) * - Censer: VG condition, minor gilt wear. - Box & cover: Y-shaped crack to cover. Otherwise good.
A Channel Islands silver 'The 1975-2000 Historical Date Stamp Bachin & Terpid' by Bruce Russell, no. 45 of 100 issued, the 9 1/8in. (23.2cm.) diameter bachin with the full set of date stamps, as used by Bruce Russell, stamped around the rim, with accompanying tripod 'Terpid' stand with fruit and nut form feet, in its original blue leather box, no certificate, silver weight 45.4 tr.oz.
A pair of unusual Russian silver salts, with Petrograd sceptre and two crossed anchor mark and eagle mark to undersides, on elongated tripod legs and paw feet with applied twin headed mythical creature mounts and cross sections depicting further creatures, holding a part ribbed bowl with opaline glass liners, 3¼in. (8.2cm.) high, weight without liners 5.5 tr.oz. (2) * Each having rubbed hallmarks, glass good with no cracks etc, overall good.
A 19th century apprentice piece miniature mahogany tilt-top tripod table, raised on a turned column to three cabriole legs, 9 3/8in. (23.8cm.) diameter, 9¾in. (24.8cm.), probable alterations to mechanism. * Condition: Table with adjustments to tilt-top mechanism, top slightly off centre and having little knocks to surface, possible other restoration.
A Chinese carved ivory incense burner, Qing Dynasty, the tripod burner of archaic design, with a pierced lid, Dog of Fo finial and incised mythical beast decoration, standing on a gnarled tree stump carving, 5¾in. (14.6cm.) high. * Condition: No sign of damage to the carving but small patches of glue at the bottom of each of the three feet of the burner. ** This lot is from a fine single owner collection of Chinese and Japanese ivories, which are included in this sale from lot 1495-1586. Please note that the collection will not be on view in our Guernsey saleroom - all of the lots will remain in Jersey throughout the period of viewing and the sale itself, due to the considerable costs involved in obtaining CITES licences for them to be moved between the islands. The collection was assembled by an enthusiastic and discerning collector who purchased from antiques dealers and auctions throughout the United Kingdom from 1938 to 1955. The collection has since passed down through family descent to the current owners, who are resident in Jersey in the Channel Islands. All of the lots in the collection are antique and over 100 years of age. All of these lots will be subject to international CITES regulations upon sale and will require licences to be issued by the States of Jersey for export from Jersey to other jurisdictions, the cost of which will be borne by the vendor. Please note that import licences for their ultimate destination willl be required prior to shipping - these will be the responsibility of the purchaser, as will any costs incurred, which vary internationally. Ivory cannot be exported to the USA. It will be the buyer's responsibility to check that their country of residence will permit import with the correct documentation before bidding.
