Three Turkish embroidered textiles, comprising a silk prayer hanging with heavy gold and silver brocaded decoration, about 1870; a square table cover, the outer section in ornate silk and metal thread raised work on a coarse linen ground, this outer section sewn down onto a plain square red felted wool centre, about 1880; and a long silk panel, the cream silk ground with heavy gold and silver brocading, about 1880. And a group European brocaded narrow panels and part pelmets, Spanish or Portuguese early to mid 19th century and consisting of four long narrow panels in gold brocade on brown velvet ground, a wider long panels similar, two shaped sections of pelmets now joined, both sections with gold brocading, one with brown velvet ground, the other with black, and three long narrow panels, two in gold brocading on pale turquoise satin ground, the third vice versa. Some of the European long narrow panels now in two pieces. Two of the gold and turquoise pieces have stencilled Sold as a collection with all faults not subject to return. (16)
A miscellaneous collection of textiles, comprising a large Japanese panel embroidered overall in couch stitch in silk and cotton, late 19th-early 20th century, six small Indian silk and gold brocade bags (three in muslin covers), Rajput early 20th century, a fragment of late 18th-early 19th century Persian or Polish sash, a pair of 18th century European wool and silk needlework seat covers with decoration in Turkish style (heavily moth damaged), a length of Indian (?) cotton with stencil-applied painted decoration in red and blue with gold outlining, an early 20th century Chinese cream silk square shawl with European silk embroidery, an East European green silk square with polychrome silk embroidery, the design incorporating various sets of initials, a small red wool embroidered mat, one Moroccan and one Balkan wool embroidery and a 19th century tape lace cape-collar made up from a flounce.
