Discourse on the Nature and Origin of Peat Deposits. The first four papers are accompanied by detailed engraved plates, many hand coloured. There are 15 plates for the first paper with two microscopic slide illustrations on each and a detailed folding plate for the second paper illustrating the apparatus deployed.
