Sold with N.T.H.K. Kanteisho paper dated 2003.

A RARE 20-BORE FLINTLOCK DUELLING PISTOL BY WESTLEY RICHARDS, 9inch sighted damascus barrel set with a gold maker's tablet at the breech, platinum touch hole, border and scroll engraved bolted signed lock with rainproof pan - chipped, decorated with a stand of arms at the tail, cock replaced, half stocked with white metal fore-end, steel mounts, spur trigger guard marked with the number 525, chequered wooden grip, the butt set with an Indian made white metal lanyard ring, later wooden ramrod. Cock replaced and wood with knocks and dings, rubbed chequering.

See Lot 174 Antony Cribb Ltd 24th July 2018 for a cased pair of percussion duelling pistols signed Thomas Reynolds from Joseph Manton. The over all construction of the gun and details to the locks resemble the work of Joseph Manton's sporting guns.

A 19TH CENTURY INDO-PERSIAN KULAH KHUD (HELMET) AND DHAL (SHIELD), the single piece domed iron skull decorated with a horned devil's mask, the whole decorated with panels of calligraphy and wild animals, square section spike finial, adjustable nasal bar, gold koftgari highlights and trimmed and shaped camail of butted links, the associated two-piece dhal of characteristic form and 39.25cm in diameter, turned rim with broad border of mounted archers hunting birds amidst dense scrolling foliage, interspersed with calligraphy, four domed foliate bosses intersected with four panels decorated with archers and hawkers on horseback, central embossed face panel, the whole with good traces of gold koftgari highlights. AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY INDIAN CAVLARY OFFICER'S MAMELUKE, 80.5cm curved clipped back blade with traces of gold calligraphy or talismanic symbols along the back edge, gilt hilt decorated with chevrons and acanthus leaves, triple gilt rosette riveted ivory grips, contained in its gilt mounted leather wrapped wooden scabbard, decorated to match. Just above the forte there appear to be traces of an umbrella form maker's panel which would suggest that this is a trophy blade. See Pg 109 Plate 12.2 of The British Cavalry Sword 1788-1912 by Richard Dellar for a not dissimilar example.

Pair of 1940s Cartier ruby and diamond dress clips, each modelled as a flower with yellow gold petals and gold stamens centred with an old cut diamond and five oval mixed cut rubies, each clip signed 'Cartier London' and numbered 762. Each flower measures approximately 34mm. This pair of clips belonged to Miss Miriam (Mimi) Jordon 1904-1987 who was a British actress who enjoyed a career in Hollywood as a leading lady during the early 1930s. Her best known films are Sherlock Holmes (1932) and I Loved You Wednesday (1933). Accompanied by a black and white photograph of Mimi wearing the Cartier clips. Condition report: The clips have come from a descendant of the original owner, Mimi Jordan. Both clips are in very good condition commensurate with age and wear. The spring fittings still snap shut tightly, no obvious signs of any damage or repairs. Each clip is signed 'Cartier, London', no hallmarks, stamped 762, they are more of a rose gold than a yellow gold, not tested but presumably 9ct or 18ct gold. The diamonds are old cut cushion shape stones of good colour and clarity and measure approximately 3mm - 3.3mm. The rubies are lively bright stones and vary in size, measuring approximately 4.4mm x 4mm to 5mm x 3mm. Total gross weight approximately 19.7grams.

1940s Art Deco Odeonesque rose gold diamond and synthetic ruby clip, the undulating rose gold scroll with calibre cut rubies (possibly synthetic) and pavé set single cut diamonds. Signed with maker's monogram and stamped 14k. Measures approximately 33mm x 38mm. This clip belonged to Miss Miriam (Mimi) Jordon 1904-1987 who was a British actress who enjoyed a career in Hollywood as a leading lady during the early 1930s. Her best known films are Sherlock Holmes (1932) and I Loved You Wednesday (1933). Accompanied by a black and white photograph of Mimi Jordan. Fine Edwardian Belle Époque diamond, ruby and demantoid green garnet butterfly brooch with cabochon ruby eyes, the body and wings with brilliant cut diamonds and round mixed cut demantiod green garnets in millegrain and pierced openwork gold setting, with original gold en tremblant fitting to be worn as a hair ornament, in original fitted and gilt tooled leather box. Butterfly measures approximately 62mm x 38mm.Condition report: In excellent condition commensurate with age. No obvious signs of any damage or repairs. The alternative en tremblant fitting screws into the back of the brooch allowing the butterfly to be worn as a hair ornament, the brooch fitting is not detachable, uncertain as to whether the brooch fitting has been altered/originally designed to be detachable. Not hallmarked or tested but presumed to be 18ct gold. No maker's mark and the original box doesn't have a retailer's name. Very good quality ad feels a substantial piece measuring approximately 62mm wide. The diamonds are all lively well matched stones and of good colour and clarity, the largest diamond measures approximately 4.75mm diameter and is estimated to weigh approximately 0.40ct, estimated total diamond weight approximately 1.25cts. Total gross weight approximately 17.2 grams.

Estimated total diamond weight approximately 5.5cts. Pendant measures approximately 51mm.Condition report: Good condition commensurate with age. One small diamond missing. The centre stone measures approximately 5.2mm diameter, all stones seem to be original to the piece and vary in colour, clarity is generally good and the stones are lively bright stones. The gold back has been converted to a pendant fitting that would accommodate a single strand/two strand or a three strand chain/pearl necklace. Gross weight approximately 20.8 grams.

The sapphires are all well matched stones and in good condition with no obvious scratches, chips or wear.The largest diamond measures approximately 3.5mm diameter. The diamonds are all lively and well matched stones of good colour and clarity. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 1ct.The setting appears to be silver on 18ct gold.No signs of any damage or repairs or alterations. Gross weight approximately 8.4 grams.
