The setting is post mid 20th century, some light wear to the settings, a couple of claws would benefit from a slight adjustment as they don't quite hold the stone on one corner, but the stone is currently secure in the setting. A LATE VICTORIAN DIAMOND CONVERTIBLE TIARA CIRCA 1890 With seven graduated fleur-de-lys panels with scrolled crossover foliate panels between, set throughout with old mine cut, old European cut and eight cut diamonds, approximately 25 carats total, with a scrolling articulated row with rose cut diamond accents below, on tiara frame, the diamond sections converting into a necklace, the fleur-de-lys each with a screw in fitting to the reverse, with three additional screw in brooch fittings, and two screw in clip fittings, in a fitted later Collingwood Of Conduit Street case; together with a pair of similar diamond floral ear pendants, set with brilliant cut diamonds, approximately 0.68 carats total, on shepherds hook fittings Size/dimensions: tiara diamond front section approximately 7.5cm high 34cm long; earrings 5.4cm long including hooks Gross weight: tiara on frame 146.8 grams Condition Report: All diamonds are present, mostly appear original, no apparent replacements, one or two of the smaller diamonds have chips from use, the diamonds are commercial colour and clarity approximately I-K colour, clarity VS-SI, ( some inclusions visible with a 10x loupe). The tiara is mounted in gold backed silver which is later rhodium plated, no signs of any significant repair or damage to the mounts but this would be hidden by the rhodium plating, however the diamond two stone tips above the fleur de leys appear to be later additions. The mountings sit well on the tiara frame and screws tightly into place. When off the frame to make a necklace the connections are a bit loose and so it will need tightening.The double clip fittings are later, brooch fittings have been rhodium plated. The tiara frame is base metal.The earrings are modern reproductions, all stones present, no signs of damage or repair.
