This development coincided with the boom in Hollywood filmaking and Joseff's friendship with costume designer Walter Plunkett, which led to him making jewels for the movies, using his anti-glare formula to render "gold" pieces to best effect under studio lights. Bringing an academic approach to historically accurate pieces he became the go-to jeweller for studios and his pieces were seen on Marlene Dietrich in Shanghai Express, Greta Garbo in Camille, and Vivian Leigh in Gone With The Wind.
