Gigs were few and far between in the early '70s but he had been offered a seven night acoustic spot in Pastures vegetarian restaurant in Westbourne Grove. Huw needed an acoustic guitar for this gig and his mother, who dabbled in antiques, gave him a gold sovereign to sell in the West End. He went into various guitar shops and came back with the Levin, with which he did a straight swap for the gold sovereign. Although his mum was a bit cross, it was a guitar that became his bread and butter. Huw wrote most of his music on this guitar including some of the instrumental classical music on his last album 'Classical Guitar Tales'. Sold with a small black and white collage photograph of Huw playing the guitar
