The rifle is finished to an exceptional standard and appears to be almost unused.

The rifle was recently completed and appears to be almost unused.

It was reproofed for 9.3x62 in 1973 and appears relatively little used since.

The rifle is sold with a set of reloading dies and a quantity of empty cases.

Greener The actions, stocks and fore-ends of a fine pair of "L90 Grade 12-bore sidelock ejector guns, nos. 66107 & 66148 the frames, locks and gold numbered top-levers with fine scroll engraving, the locks with vignettes of dogs, grouse and duck, the action bases with a scene of grouse against moorland landscapes, gold lined cocking indicators, retaining almost all of their original hardening colour, 14 1/4-inch well figured stocks with ribbed buttplates, in their brass bound oak and leather case with green beize lined interior with makers accesories including oil bottle, snapca "ps, c"hamber brush etc The guns were built in 1920 and20 anddndnd appear to be very little used. They retain almost all of their original hardening colour.

Purdey & Sons A pair of 12-bore single trigger self opening sidelock ejector guns, nos. 18799/18800 29-inch Whitworth steel chopper-lump barrarrp barrrrrrels with 2 1/2 -inch chambers, about 1/4 and 3/4 choke borings, the frames, locks and gold numbered top-levers with fine bouquet and scroll engraving and retaining some original hardening colour, Boss Patent single triggers, rolled edge trigger guards and engraved cocking indicators, 14 3/4 -inch highly figured replacement stocks, No.2 with slight crack to the head, nitro proof, barrel wall thickness marginal, in their brass bounds oak "and leather case 6lb. 13oz. James Purdey & sons kindly confirm that the guns were completed in September 1906 as the No.1 and 2 of a trio with 29-inch barrels. The guns are fitted with the Boss patent single trigger mechanism, No. 11278 of 1905 and this appears to have been fitted later. It was not uncommon for Boss & Co., whose speciality was single triggers, to fit their mechanism to guns of other makes. K

The guns were originaly built for a right handed shot, and the stocks were reset t o the "left for the present owner. They should easily return to their original measurements.

Holland & Holland A fine Coggan engraved 12-bore "Royal De Luxemodel self-opening sidelock ejector gun, no. 40742 28-inch chopper-lump barrels with 2 3/4-inch chachachaahaahaambers, about 1/4 and 1/2 choke borings, the frame, hand detachable locks and top-lever with bold foliate scroll engraving against a lined ground, the fences carved in relief with fruiting vines, each with a bunch of 19 grapes, rolled edge trigger guard inlaid in gold with the number 19, the trigger plate signed by the engraver P. Coggan 85, retaining all of its original bright cyanide hardened finish, gold lined cock "ing indicators, articulated front trigger, 15-inch highly figured stock, nitro proof, in a brass bound oak and leather case 6lb. 8oz. The makers confirm that the gun was completed in 1986, and it appears little used.

It retains all of its original finish and appears virtualy unused.
