In original case together with a pair of metal diamond shaped mother of pearl cufflinks and of mother of pearl collar studs, together with a medal to commemorate the death of the late Queen Caroline. A Likeness of Her Majesty on one side inscribed 'Died August 7 1821 Aged 53' and on the reverse an inscription 'Though destroyed by the storm, may her soul rest in peace' and a medal to commemorate the exhibition of Industry of all Nations by W J Taylor, medallist, London. A fine 18th Century mahogany longcase clock, the eight day movement with five pillars, anchor escapement, rack striking on bell, escapement linkage to rocking 'Father Time' in arch with cobalt blue and gold star background, the 12in dial with silver chapter ring, roman numerals, quarter and half hour divisions, tooled centre panel with chased doves and scroll work to date aperture, silver acorn panel with makers name Joseph Hocker of Reading, The arch dial with cast queen spandrels surrounded with engraved borders. The movement set in a fine quality mahogany case of London influence, the trunk flanked by reeded columns with brass inlay and capitals, the hood of similar design with three brass finals. 235cm high.
