"According to Friedl?nder, the present picture is closest to that in the Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, England, which, in turn, Friedl?nder considered to be a replica with slight differences and not as characteristic of the Master as that in the Landesmuseum, Oldenburg (inv. no. 270), generally considered to be the prime version ( op. cit., p. 69).
