A fine and rare Charles Frederick Worth fancy dress gown, French, circa 1890 labelled, Worth, 7 Rue de la Paix, Paris, in Elizabethan style, the open robe of fabulous Ottoman inspired deep purple voided velvet against a gold ground, with tabbed hemline, padded caps to the elaborate lattice-worked red velvet and gold satin sleeves, the front with gold satin stomacher and matching gold satin petticoat adorned with pearls This robe was worn around 1893 by Madame Pecoul at Princess Sagan's ball and sold with the lot is a photograph of her wearing the gown. A good group of Biba clothing, early 1970s, fifteen pieces including: gold satin bomber jacket with flocked 'Biba' to the front; green chunky cord coat, pink wrap-over T-shirt emblazoned with Biba logo, sequinned jacket and others, (qty) The owner of this and the following lot worked at Biba when it first opened. The rare flocked bomber jacket was a sample, not put into general production. The pink wrap-over t-shirt is also rare as it formed part of the staff uniform.
