An Empire style mahogany bonheur du jour, early 19th century, the superstructure with pierced gallery above white variegated marble top over satinwood and ebony strung glazed doors and two short drawers, the base with frieze drawer fitted with writing slide and inkwell compartments upon tapering columnar supports united by concave undertier, 116x67cm.

The circular silver dish with hammered decoration and wavy rim, fitted with central glass ink bottle with silver cover and matching hammered decoration, also a cut glass and silver glue pot, also a silver plated desk stand fitted with matched glass inkwell. MILITARY INTEREST: AN EDWARDIAN PRESENTATION INKSTAND of rectangular form, with gadrooned borders, the central inkwell with a hinged cover, crested, the underside bearing the presentation inscription "Made from gold lace worn by Major General T.E. Byrne R.A. 1848-1887", the whole on four compressed ball feet, by the Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Co., London 1905, (c.14oz).
Edwardian lozenge shaped tray with pierced gallery, raised on four conforming bracket feet, with central hinged and silver mounted moulded glass inkwell. Length measures 8 1/2ins (21.5cm). The tray hallmarked London 1901, sponsors mark reads J.G &S, the ink well hallmarked London 1903, sponsors mark reads WN GN. The tray is in extremely good condition. There are surface scratches to the whole, along with some marks, discolourations, and build-ups of polish. The inside of the ink well lid is a bit scuffed, and there is a patch of discolouration on the neck. The hallmarks are all clear and unrubbed.
Edwardian and late Victorian composite travelling dressing table set, comprising several grooming tools and accessories to include a mirror, cork screw, scissors, button hook, fountain pen nibs, and file each with ornate embossed scroll handles and several glass dressing table jars all encased within a trunk with personal initials E.J.C. (a/f). Various hallmarks London 1899, Birmingham 1876, 1901. The travelling dressing table set is in generally poor condition. The box is extremely battered, the leather is badly stained, scratched, scuffed, and is crumbling away in places with age. The handle and seams of the lid are especially damaged. The hinge is completely broken, leaving the lid is attached by only two pieces of ribbon. The locking clasp of the box is rusty and aged. The interior of the box is badly stained, and although a couple of the pockets are a little dented, the whole of the inside is intact. There are five assorted silver-topped glass bottles and jars, which are in varying states of disrepair. There are notches, scratches, and tarnish to all the lids, and some of the bottles are scratched, chipped, or cracked. Also included inside the pockets of the case are a lighter and an ink well, both of which are in very bad repair. The inkwell especially is really dirty and damaged. A selection of silver items to include, a cased set of six apostle spoons, dated Sheffield 1918, a set of six cake knifes and forks with ivory handles each blade dated London 1904, a silver topped dressing table jar, the lid dated 1921, two silver topped salt and pepper shakers and a conicle shaped inkwell of plain form, dated Chester 1899, and a modern silver desk calendar (s/d) also a cased set of fourteen tea spoons with Zodiac finials. The apostle spoons are all in good condition. They have surface scratches and are very tarnished, but there is no serious damage. All the hallmarks are legible. The box is badly damaged, with broken hinges and a large crack in the lid. he desert knives and forks also have surface scratches, areas of tarnish, and marks. Some of the ivory handles are cracked and split. All the hallmarks are clearly legible. he dressing table jar is in good condition. There are scratches and some shallow dents to the lid. The lid fits well onto the jar. There are a number of hairpins in the jar. The hallmark is clearly legible. he pepper shaker has some bad cracks to the bottom of the glass. The lid is very dented, particularly on the tip. There are lots of scratches, marks and tarnish to the silver. The lid does not screw onto the body properly. he salt's glass is discoloured on the inside, and has some small chips and scratches. The silver lid is badly tarnished and does not screw onto
A selection of assorted silver items to include mustard pot, salt, pepperette, inkwell, vesta case, agate brooch and mother of pearl handled fruit knife. The overall condition of the pieces in this lot is reasonable. There is a great deal of tarnish to all the items, and they all have surface scratches caused by general wear and tear. The pepperette, salt, and mustard pot are all in good condition, with little damage. The ink well is also in good condition but is dirty and has a lot of polish build-ups. The marcasite ring is slightly bent, one of the brooches is missing a stone, and the clasp on the bracelet is broken. One of the brooches has some enamel missing and the pin is bent. All the other pieces have no serious damage.
