First World War German Trench Art interest - German helmet inkwell and pen stand, the well detailed German inkwell with hinged cover raised on barbed wire supports, sitting upon a shell case, stamped 1915, the central disc engraved in German, the pen rest made with bullet parts, all raised with three bullet supports, 4 ¾in. (21.1cm.) diameter, 5¾in. (14.7cm.) high. * Originally from a world-renowned collection. * Condition: Good, slight clean needed, otherwise nothing to note.
Second World War Trench Art Interest - Royal Ulster Rifles double inkwell desk stand, the central section of the stand has a raised peaked cap made from an artillery shell, stamped to the top and dated 1942, having applied original cap badge to the front, sitting on a cylindrical base, stamped ' QUIS SEPARABIT ' 1943-1944, that holds ink bottle, blotter and nib container to the interior, obtained by lifting the hinged cap. The central section flanked by a pair of hinged epaulettes adorned with rank badges/pips, lifting to find inkwells, the front having a pen rest, the uprights from bullets, the dip pen engraved with ' ROYAL ULSTER RIFLES ', applied copper plaque with cap badge and ' ROYAL ULSTER RIFLES - 1st BATTALION ', sitting on mahogany base, 18¾in. (47.6cm.) wide. * Condition: Very good, slight cleaning needed.
A rare French Champagne cork novelty travelling inkwell, early 20th century, the gilt brass cork with real cork covered lower body, the interior with glass inkwell, part sticker to base, 'SOUVENIR PARIS', 2 1/8in. (5.4cm.) high. * Condition: In excellent condition with strong spring loaded push button opening.
A novelty French bronze LEBLANC FRERES Victorian desktop inkwell or desk tidy, fashioned, very finely, as a little miniature hat box with nice detailing all over, the straps on the lid run down the sides of the inkwell, just as they would on a real box. The lid is hinged and underneath is a further lid marked with the French makers Leblanc Freres and number 658, heavy, 2½in. (6.4cm.) high. *Condition: in excellent condition with great dark brown patina, the inner lid with scratches.
An Edwardian novelty painted and gilded bronze inkwell fashioned as a Professor Wise Owl, the owl with gilded cloak and painted features, having glass eyes, opening on a hinge at the neck to reveal gilt interior for ink, 3 7/8in. (9.8cm.) high. * Condition: The hinged head having side movement (loose), showing must of the paint.
