And a 19th Century Oak Desk Stand having a glass inkwell with hinged radial reeded stopper flanked by turned lidded containers with finial knops set into a moulded trefoil base with a pen rack to the back.

An early 19th century gentleman's travelling case by Thomas Briggs of London, the outer leather case with simple strap attachments housing an embossed leather and brass bound travelling case, the hinged lid revealing a fall down pouch and mirror above a lift-out tray fitted with various cut glass and silver mounted jars and accessories including a shaving brush, travelling inkwell, rectangular jars, pair of scent bottles, etc., a further fitted tray below housing a pair of boot pulls, corkscrew, pen knife, etc., with Bramah lock and bearing brass plaque inscribed "Briggs, 27 Piccadilly, London" (nearly all the fittings London 1815)-(Thomas Briggs was registered at this address between 1829-35), the case 33 x 21 x 11 cm (ILLUSTRATED)
