A Coalport landscape vase, handpainted with two arched bridge, height 7 ins, together with an inkwell, length 5 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The finial to the lid of the vase has been broken and reglued and there is a small loss, the top of the finial is rough to touch. The rest of the lid is fine. The vase itself has a small hairline crack running around the top lip for approximately 1/2 inch. This is visible on both the interior and exterior of the vase. It is however faint. The gilding is in generally very good order and there is no evidence of restoration. The inkwell has rubbing to the gilding. Both inkwells are in good order as are the lids. The inkwell is probably circa 1900 and the vase perhaps 1930's.
A late Victorian/Edwardian green overlay glass inkwell. Diameter 4.75 ins. CONDITION REPORT: This inkwell is in extremely good order. There does not appear to be any damage of the glass. The hinge operates as it should and the brasswork although a little blemished and dented is generally in very good order.
A Continental porcelain inkwell stand, probably French and depicting Chinese sportsmen and acrobats. Width 6 ins. CONDITION REPORT: There is no makers mark as far as we can see. The item is in generally good condition. The two detachable pots appear to be in good order. The central carrying handle is slightly off centre and looks to have been repainted as does the whole of the top of the piece. We cannot see that this is covering any restoration, however the whole of the top inner section has certainly been painted over as has the outside edge. Whilst it doesn't appear that this is covering restoration it would probably be safe to presume that it is particularly if you are buying blind.
A 19th century boulle marquetry pen and ink stand, with ormolu mounts, raised on Rococo feet. Width 9 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The desk stand is in generally good original condition. Both inkwell lids are present as are the interior brass liners. There are no glass inkwells. The centre slide is present. The ormolu mounts are in generally good order but dirty and dusty. The boule marquetry to the front panel is fine and also to the pen tray where there are only very minor losses. The left hand side panel has small areas of lifting brass which could easily be rectified. The right hand panel is similar but does have two small pieces of brass missing. The rear panel again has an area of brass that is lifting and some very minor losses.
