Prince Alamayu Simyen Tewodoros was born at Magdala, Abyssinia on 23rd April 1861 and educated at Rugby and Sandhurst. He was granted the personal title of Dejazmatch by his father, King Theodore, at birth. He died at Headingley, Leeds on 14th November 1879 and is buried at St George's Chapel, Windsor
