A mid 19th century rosewood and brass bound campaign writing slope, the hinged lid centred with a vacant cartouche enclosing a leather surface, dished pen tray, single inkwell and pair of brass candles sconces attaching to the recesses in the frame, width 50cm. CONDITION REPORT: Wear commensurate with age. Splits to veneer, replaced brass inlay, splits to base and some work needed to the interior.

The set also contains a matched hinged tortoiseshell comb in green case & a book of Common Prayer indicating that this was a christening gift in March 1925. Silver mounted pieces hallmarked for London 1901/03. The front outer edge of the case stamped 'The Alexander Clark Manufacturing Company, 125 & 126 Fenchurch Street, EC.' The case complete with a leather mounted canvas foul weather cover.
