WWII Second World War interest - A cut glass inkwell, with badge to the top for Air Raid Precautions at Armstrong Siddeley Motors Ltd. The brass lift-up lid featuring an enamel ARP badge. Measures approx; 6cm tall. Likely a fantasy item. Armstrong Siddeley was a British engineering group that operated during the first half of the 20th century. It was formed in 1919 and is best known for the production of luxury vehicles and aircraft engines.
A Regency pole screen with a shaped face screen containing a fascinating perspective rendering of a cluttered desk top with a Regency tea caddy, gilded calf bound volumes, quills and cutters, sealing wax, inkwell and a deliberately torn £5 note from the Bank of Northamptonshire. The book in the middle is the opening ballad to Richard Bloomfield's Rural Ballads (1802) "Richard and Kate; or Fair Day. A Suffolk Ballad." The author wrote in his preface "the stanzas containing Richard's speech to his sons and daughters (illustrated here) always pleased me best of any in the ballad" and "wrote themselves (when I) began to think of the pleasure of an old couple meeting their grown up children."The artist's message here appears to be one of love and family first regardless of financia circumstance. * Provenance: Stephen Long collection. One of the chrubs of the wall pockets has lost an arm, further chips to moulded foliage as one would imagine as well as moulded detail of cherub's wings, some further nicks, nibbles, some pieces with cracks, the Royal Vienna vase heavily crazed, the smaller Vienna vase with either a pronounced scratch or crack to the figural decorated panel, there is a pronounced ridge but it is impossible to identify whether it is a scratch or crack any further, rubbing to the gilt detail overall.
A late 19th century Continental floral encrusted porcelain inkstand, of Rococo style, modelled with a cherub issuing from a pond with two inkwells and covers, width 20cm, with a 19th century Coalbrookdale style inkwell with liner and cover, height 7.25cm, a small pair of Continental bocage back figures and a German porcelain figure group (5).Additional InformationThe twin inkwell - one of the inkwell liners is extensively restored, small chips and losses to the floral encrusting and some rubbing to the gilding throughout, the Coalbrookdale style inkwell with rubbing to the gilding here and there throughout, a chip to the flange of the stand, more so to the inside that the outside, many of the flower heads chipped and some haven been restored, chips and losses to the bocage backs of both of the figure groups, more so to the boy than the girl, the German figure group has extensive restoration throughout.

Watch appears to run when wound, though we cannot guarantee it is in working condition. The glass appears to be in good condition, with inner reservoir intact.

A Chinese Longquan celadon pierced tripod incense burner, Ming DynastyLater converted to an inkwell, of slightly tapering cylindrical form, moulded and carved with three lotus flowerheads against a pierced scrolling foliate ground, raised on three short feet and covered in a pale green glaze, a later bronze cover with hinged top surmounted by a seated chinaman, opening to a plain glass liner, 10.5cm high (feet chipped).Footnote: Footnote: A very similar incense burner was offered in Bonhams New Bond Street rooms, 8 November 2004, lot 98.Condition report: Two of the three feet are chipped. The glass inkwell liner is chipped to the rim.
