A WWII Second World War interest Third Reich Nazi German Africa Corps desktop organiser desk top tidy / inkwell stand. Wooden construction with inlaid palm tree and desert scene having a letter rack to the rear and two front inkwell stands. A late 19th to early 20th Century Sevres inkwell modelled as a cherub holding drumsticks, sat beside two lidded pots with drapery, the lids each with a hand painted portraits of French society ladies, the whole in turquoise with gilt detailing, interlaced L mark, length 22.5cm. NB - Known as L'amour Timbalier (Drummer Love), this design was presented to King Louis XV on 22nd December 1771. It was one of three designs that were offered to the sovereign to gift to courtiers.

GOLDSMITHS & SILVERSMITHS; an Edward VII hallmarked silver capstan inkwell of circular form, Birmingham 1908 (probably), diameter 8.5cm, and a travelling cutlery set with silver plated mounts with detachable cover enclosing folding corkscrew, fork and spoon (2).Additional InformationThe case has heavy wear to the leather and metal, also the fork and the spoon. Also the capstan inkwell in lacking the liner, the hallmarks are heavily rubbed, numerous dents and knocks, also with ivorine base.
