TWO SILVER TRAVELLING INKWELLS (2)Comprising; a George III circular inkwell, having a screw down hinged cover, London 1818, weight 29 gms and an early Victorian silver mounted rectangular glass inkwell with engraved decoration, having a screw down hinged cover, London 1841.Condition Report: The George III circular inkwell - both hinges are in good condition. The interior cork washer to screw down the cap is probably replaced. There are scratches to the top of the inkwell. The underside has a few fine surface marks. The hallmarks are a bit weak, the lion, the maker's mark and the date letter are hardly visible. Diameter 3.2cm. The glass inkwell - there is a chip to one side below the hinge. There are a few chips and fine scratches to the underside. The hinge is in good condition. The leather washer inside the cap is missing, it would no longer be water tight. The hinge to screw down the catch is in good condition. The interior of the glass is rather grubby and cloudy. Length 5cm.

The body of the inkwell decorated with graduating blue and yellow enamelled flowers on white ground.
