Externally decorated with foliate inlay and having brass carrying handles. 33 x 17 x 21cm approx.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Some losses to veneers and inlays in places, particularly on leading edge and back edges of the lid. Rather grubby.

An Imperial German desk set, consisting of a pair of inkwells on an oval base, the inkwell holders and base made of polished white veined black stone, the inkwells having a hinged lid mounted with a white metal wreath surmounted with the Imperial crown surrounding “WII” cypher, the base carved with gold filled inscription “Wilhelm II Deutscher Kaiser und Konig von Preussen”, 14” x 9½”. GC (has been broken and repaired, resulting in some marks and stains).
